Do not go to everglades university unless you want a worthless degree!!! I was in the alternative medicine program at eu for 1 1/2 years. I was lied to from day one by almost everyone at the school, including the former president herself, they are completely money driven and care nothing for the wellbeing of the students. I finally made the choice to withdraw last year when the sacs accreditation (that they had been telling me was pending immediate approval since I enrolled) had still not been approved. What”s really sad is that many of the alt. Med. Students have plans to become naturopaths and sadly enough, will never be accepted to any accredited naturopathic university. I have read reviews of students in other majors that encountered the same issue when trying to go for masters or doctorate programs. Their alternative medicine degree basically qualifies you to work in a health food store – and that certainly isn”t going to pay back your, on average, $75, 000 in student loans for a bachelors degree!! The tuition is down right disgusting and shameful, especially when you consider the quality of education you recieve and the fact that you”re never in their classroom so there are incredibly minimal overhead costs for the school. I take classes at uwga online now that are fully accredited and they are vastly different! I have to take proctored exams at a university, there are recorded video lectures, the professors actually give in depth feedback and grade on a collegiate level (at eu I never received less than a 100% on any paper that I ever wrote, and there were at least 15 like that), I feel like I have not even really been in school until now. Along with that, I now take a full 4 classes per semester and only pay about $2300 total in tuition – after any and all fees. I actually get money back from my student loans – a concept unheard of to me at eu where I would owe thousands every semester. I am now a nutrition science/dietetics major. After I started learning about various types of alt. Med. I realized that nutrition is really the basis of almost every healing modality in the world. I feel strongly that nutrition is a good place to start with a solid background to lead you into a more specialized aspect of natural healthcare, and there are several affordable and accredited education options. I now work in a chiropractic office as a nutritional consultant, attend many health seminars and am pretty active in the natural health care field in my area, and I would recommend that anyone looking at the alt. Med degree from eu, instead find a useful degree in nutrition or a related field. Good luck!

Everglades University Reviews & Complaints
Everglades University, a.k.a. Keiser University is an online scam pretending to be a revolutionary online college. They are a for-profit school, and are not accredited. They represent to you on the phone that you can pay as you go and set your own schedule, but actually will bill you for an entire semester regardless of how many classes you actually take. This can be around $6, 000 dollars. Even if you withdraw from a class, they will continue to bill you for the remaining classes that you do not take, and then turn your account over for collection years later ruining your credit history. Don”t even consider taking classes here.

I hope someone will read this. I hope they will take this review very seriously. Do not attend this college. I recommend moving on right after you read this review. Their accreditation aside, Everglades is a complete insult to the many hard-working students out there pursuing a recognizable and worthy degree. I began the process at Everglades as a Construction Management student thinking that I would come out of the program learning something new and better prepared for the work force. This was not the case. Every test was open book with a time allowance that far exceeded that which was necessary to complete said test. You could go through the program never once cracking the book, do the very minimal discussion work, and take their mediocre exam and make straight A”s. Let”s be honest guys, as difficult as college can be at times… No one wants this. Why not just pay for a degree and call it a day? I eventually wrote a long letter to upper division faculty and was point blank in my accusations. I told them they should be ashamed to put themselves in the same ball park as well respected tenured teaching professionals across the globe.
Everglades University Reviews & Complaints
I started attending Everglades University in May of 2010 with the hopes of receiving a bachelors degree in Alternative Medicine. The program started well but soon after I started to receive charges from the school’s financial department for changes in educational fees to miscellaneous charges and fees. Soon, I became unable to continue with the courses because I am a single mother and my children need me first and foremost and I decided discontinue my enrollment at the school. At that time, I informed the administrators of the school and requested, by phone, a copy of my records so I could prepare a plan to pay them back for overdue charges. On October 1st, 2012, I signed and faxed a statement signed by myself and an official “online” signature by Debora Medici, University Registrar for the Online Division with Everglades University for the amount of $1257.00 as well as an official withdrawal letter. I received a phone call stating that the office had obtained my letter and forms and they wished me well. On February 22, 2013, I received an email from Pamela Peterson with the Bursar’s Office, stating that my outstanding fee was $3309.45 and this was forwarded to me after I had made plans to begin a payment plan to begin diminishing the original charge of $1257.00. Let me add that this letter was signed by an “N. Davis”, a person whom I’ve never spoken to or done any business with regarding my schooling there. On that same day, I got yet ANOTHER email from Pamela Peterson of the Bursar’s Office, for a Ms. Muhummad(clearly not me) for $4400.58. Today I called the school after struggling to reach them for months by leaving phone messages and emails, none of them returned in a timely fashion, and after a 30 min. phone conversation with Tina Huelsman of the Online Bursar’s Department, I still have not reached a resolve. She claims that I was sent a letter on November 19, 2012 with an 8 page itemized statement, stating that I now owed the school a total of $4602.00 and now have an outstanding balance of $5593.45! Every time I make an attempt to contact the school in regards to my situation the totals of what I owe for the months that I attended Everglades University has changed. Let me also mention that I have been receiving phone calls from FMS – Financial Management Services and when they call, I am told I owe a total of somewhere along the lines of $3300.00. There is something truly misinforming about this situation and I am making a complaint here and with the Better Business Bureau as well as the U.S. Department of Education in regards to this matter. I want to be done with Everglades University for good but I WILL NOT be swindled out of my hard earned finances to pay for a poorly contrived educational program. I am highly disappointed in the lack of customer service and general care for their students and their well being. I suggest that anyone looking to study with this school, turn and run in the opposite direction as you will most certainly be swindled too!
