Due to the good reputation of Extended Stay America as it is one of the most famous hotel chains in US and Canada, I decided to stay in one of these when I had a visit to Rolling Meadows, Illinois. I don’t know about other chains but the branch which was located in Rolling Meadows certainly disappointed me in terms of their services, their professionalism, and their room cleanliness. The prices as compared to other hotel are way higher than they are supposed to be, and the basic amenities which are being offered are not so they charge you for using it. Also, the room shown on their website is quite opposite of what I got, the rooms were not clean and it had an obnoxious smell in it. I usually stay in the hotels and had no problems with it but this time when I stayed at Extended Stay America I had marks on my hand when I woke up in the morning and though that could be from bed bugs. I called the room cleaning services to check the room and told me that they only clean the room once a week, I haven’t heard this anywhere because whenever you check out the room cleaning services quickly prepared for the next customers. The general manager at the hotel wasn’t too much better than those guys either and also showed a bad attitude to me, the manager was least bothered to get my issues cleared up and he was talking constantly. The manager didn’t even show an apologetic behavior to me and said that their rooms are clean and there is no such thing around it. I don’t understand this kind of attitude. What kind of customer service is this? Aren’t they supposed to listen patiently to their customers and offer proper services?
The other concerns which I had with them are that they are going to charge you an extra sum of money if you are going to check in early or checking out later. The websites state that the hotel is pet-friendly but they had not mentioned that they only prefer dogs which is kind of a misleading statement for the customers. Also, the heater of the thermostat was not working and it was cold out there, I asked the front desk to get it repaired for me and they said it would be fixed right away. When I woke up in the morning it was freaking cold out there and the heater has still not been fixed. I had to stay one more night over but since the way, I was being treated by these bastards I was not in a mood to spend my hard cash on them because these guys don’t deserve it. Not only did they give me a painful experience, but they also failed in impressing me with anything. They are the worst in everything possible but their service lags behind the most. In fact, I believe that this particular branch of Extended Stay America will get shut down just because of its people.
