I found a 2002 GMC Sonoma online and got in touch with them and was responded to by a person name Kourtni. The truck in question had everything on it that the Sonoma I lost last year when it was rear-ended by a careless teenager in a big truck had, and it was a good price. I did not want to drive that far (am in the DFW area of Texas) to to the gasoline I would expend, but this really did look like the right truck. We did not discuss ANY other possible trucks and Kourtni assured me on Saturday that the truck would be pulled up and ready for me to drive on Monday when I arrived there. After the long drive up, I arrived to find no truck. There was indeed a Sonoma there, but it was black and much more expensive and “Kourtni” was no where to be found. I realized that I had been victimized by the old “bait and switch” scam and they kept trying to tell me the truck had been sold on Saturday and I said No, that the invisible Kourtni had assured me that it was there and being held for me to see. Now I was only being shown a more expensive truck. What they didn’t realize is that I would NEVER have bought a black vehicle as it absorbs heat, which is very bad in Texas, so there is no way I would have ever considered their more expensive truck. I had already told them that I was a veteran, disabled, senior citizen, and living on a fixed income; they caused me to expend funds for a tank and a half of gas for a completely useless trip. The truck online never DID exist at that dealership, it was only the”bait” to get people to come into their lot to sell other cars. Yes I realize this kind of thing goes on and if it was local, I wouldn’t have been concerned, but I lost a lot of money on the gas up and back and that disgusts me. I emailed them when I got home, and got NO response, no apology, nothing. .
