Fidelity Brokerage Services Reviews & Complaints
A long-ago employer of mine had some type of investment account with Fidelity, in my name. I found out about this many years later, and asked Fidelity for a distribution. Fidelity said they would be glad to send a distribution, but only to an address I no longer lived at. This may seem absurd, but they made it clear that they would only turn over the money by mailing it to an invalid address. So I gave up. In 2007, Fidelity closed the account without warning, mailed a distribution check to me, and sent a 1099-R notice to the IRS as well. The check went to the wrong address, of course, and Fidelity says it was never cashed. I found out when the IRS contacted me demanding payment of taxes. Fidelity still refuses to turn over the money. I asked Fidelity to at least correct their 1099-R filing, and they refused to do that as well. They refused to provide any written documentation to me or anyone else. The IRS says that I don’t have to pay anything if I just get Fidelity to acknowledge the error in writing, but Fidelity refuses to. It’s one thing that Fidelity owes me money and won’t pay; what’s disturbing, however, is that they willfully violated federal law. I’m pursuing legal action.

A terrible experience all around. I moved my investments (over 700 grand) in June 2017 and started out optimistic with some promises of good service made. I was assigned a financial consultant who left abruptly — but no one informed me about this. I had great trouble reaching this office (making 20 phone calls over 4 days with wait times up to 2 hours) to find a new consultant, and I have not been assigned one as of yet. I”ve had some horrific and rude service at the Bond Desk from Robert Kirwin and Joe Schotz. Unless you just intend to invest and plan on your own using the website don”t go to Fidelity– expect ZERO customer service and guidance. I plan to move my accounts elsewhere in the beginning of the New Year, it”s just been a very upsetting and frustrating experience for me.

About a month ago I signed up for a monthly membership with a carwash vendor. 3 weeks after signing up for the service the vendor was already billing me again. I spoke with the vendor and since we could not come to an agreement I requested my money back and a cancellation of that membership. They flat out refused. I therefore called the bank and asked them to cancel that transaction. The person I spoke with give me a whole song and dance about the fact that the bank will conduct a thorough investigation of the whole matter, including that someone will contact me to get my side of the story and return my money to me. However a week or 2 later I received a letter from the bank written by someone named Mary Ann Merkel notifying me that: “since the merchant is providing the service for which I am being billed, we are unable to assist you with this dispute. By giving them your account number, you have authorized them to bill your account for any money owed. At this point, the 30 day time frame has past[sic] and the money is due to the merchant.” That was insult number 1. That statement if I did not know any better, I would think it came straight from the vendor, as though the bank was representing the vendor”s interest in this dispute. I called the bank as soon as I received this letter. It was then 3:30PM Friday the 14th. The recording informed me that this person literally maintains banker”s hours and leaves at 2 PM. By then 2 weeks have gone and to think that I have refrained from using that carwash service anticipating that my money would be returned to me. Now I needed somebody to tell me whether I would ever see that money again, otherwise I needed to hurry up and use that service. I therefore called customer service. I spoke with a gentleman who kept telling me that he could not do anything to help me, and would not even allowed me to put in a second request for my money back. I asked them to speak to his supervisor. He left and came back after awhile to inform me that they were too busy for a supervisor to come to the phone and talk to me. That was insult # 2. I waited until Monday to call the author of that letter. I have already called her more than 4 times since 8 am that her voicemail says is her normal schedule and I cannot talk to her. And that was insult # 3. That”s my quota on how much insult I would accept from anyone I entrust my money to.

Although I have provided clear evidence (enclosures) of a computer processing error wherein a transaction fee was improperly applied, Fidelity does not empower their representative to review and make a decision. Rather they force an otherwise fact situation to be process thru the time consuming and costly arbitration process. For non-action traders, Vanguard has far superior customer service.

At approximately 4:15 p. M. On monday, july 27, 2017, I placed with fidelity via the internet 4 buy orders for various dividend-paying common stocks. The following day my orders were filled… And then some. I noted a confirmation slip for a company with the symbol “ngls” which I had not ordered. I immediately phoned fidelity on july 28. After speaking with a rep for about 10 minutes, including being put on hold twice, I was told the matter could not be resolved that day and would be referred over to a dept. For investigation. I was, however, told that the ngls order was placed at 7:15 p. M. On july 27. I was home watching tv at that time. I live alone. No one other than fidelity has my user name or password. When 2 weeks passed without further word from fidelity, I called again on august 11. I was told there was no record of my previous call. Very strange since you always get a message saying the call is being recorded. I repeated my problem. The rep thought he could resolve it in 30-40 minutes. I told him i”d be home for the next 90 minutes. He called back in about 20 minutes and said the matter would have to be looked into by the fraud dept. He asked me what I was seeking. I told him I wanted to be made whole with the money placed back in my account. I did not want the stock. The rep called back on august 12 and left a message on my answer machine saying they were still working on it. On august 13 I received a call from the rep saying no fraud was found, and that fidelity does not feel responsible. He wanted to know if I wanted the stock sold. I said yes and that I would decide what my next step would be to recover any loss, including removing my accounts from fidelity. He expressed regret since i”ve been with the company for 30 years. I don”t know what happened at their end. I do know nothing occurred at mine. Even if anyone else had my log-in info, it would make no sense to order for my account as there is nothing to be gained. In view of my long-standing relation with the company, I believe they should have stepped up to the plate.

Attempts to contact Fidelity corporate to report a compliance issued failed. Does not seem to be any way to reach corporate HQ or the office of the chief compliance officer. Numerous attempts made to contact the firm but the customer service level people are unaware of how to handle a compliance issue. They supposed forwarded details to their back office which appear to be completely ignored since no one ever responded properly.

Beginning mon., sept. 16, 2019, I began addressing mandatory distributions for myself & partner with several investment firms. Anticipating smooth transactions, I did not keep records. When I spoke with fidelity, I was told that I needed to have my bank accounts set up for on line access for fidelity to make a direct deposit. When I completed that, I called fidelity to complete the process, was walked through fidelity”s online form that asked for my log in and my password. I didn”t feel comfortable with that and subsequently went in and changed my password. When I was unable to log in, I called rockland trust company, explained what happened, lisa @ rtc said she had never heard of that. She spoke with her online dept. And investigation revealed that the history of my bank accounts had been downloaded, rtc froze all of my accounts and recommended that all accounts be replaced. New bank accounts were set up on 9/19/2019, and I began the time-consuming process of contacting those making automatic deposits and withdrawals. One of the accounts was cumberland farms. They disclose they use ach. When I attempted to complain to fidelity, megan in kentucky argued that they use ach.

Both my mother and I have had individual and IRA accounts at Fidelity Investments for many years. My mother”s account numbers are Z41-249955, 2AX-931276, and 2AX-931292. Earlier this year, my mother, who is 87 years old, set up a trust account for her assets, and granted me a power of attorney to manage her financial affairs. In early August, I set up an account with Fidelity in the name of the trust with the intention of transferring her mutual funds from the existing individual account into the new trust account. On August 9, I submitted to Fidelity a Durable Power of Attorney form with all the necessary paperwork. Fidelity, however, refused to transfer the assets, locked up my mother account, and gave no explanation regarding what steps needed to be taken to free up the funds. For more than 3 months now, my mother has not had access to her funds. She is an elderly woman, and needs to sell her mutual funds in order to pay her living expenses. I would like Fidelity to contact us in writing with detailed instructions about how to remove the block on my mother”s account. Thank you.

Can you please help me! Around approximately 2nd quarter 2018 Intel corp (INTC) purchased a company called Mobileye (MBBYF) that I owned stock in. The stock was purchased through the broker Fidelity Investments Company under my account X83680564. During the acquisition process I elected not to transfer my Mobileye stock to Intel stock consequently, my account was closed, stock sold, and all proceeds transferred to Dutch Ministry of Finance Consignment Office. To obtain my monies from the Dutch Consignment Office on 30th July 2018 I sent an email to [protected]@fmr.com that included a number of documents i.e. account information, evidence of account, power of Attorney, etc. Since sending this email I have not received any feedback that my claim in being processed and when I will receive payment despite numerous attempts to progress the claim. For example, 1) From my initial conversations with Fidelity it appears my documentation has been received. 2) Several months later in an attempt to find the status of my request, I contacted the Dutch Consignment Office. They informed me that they do not deal directly with the public and work through a transfer agent. 3) After further discussions with Fidelity they acknowledged that a company called AST was acting as Mobileye transfer agent but they lacked the appropriate information to contact Mobileye on my behalf. 4) After contacting AST they also confirmed that because I did not have an AST account or share certificates they were unable to help me, and I should go back to my broker, but they did say there are acting as Mobileye’s payment agent and may be able to help me if I could provide the share certificate numbers. 5) Again, after further discussion with Fidelity, Fidelity are unable to provide my share certificate numbers. I hope my description is not too convoluted, but I’ve been trying to progress this claim for nearly a year, and despite after numerous Fidelity chat sessions I feel that I’ve fallen foul of the preverbal catch 22. Fidelity are saying they can’t help me because they don’t have sufficient information to ask ASF on my behalf, although I’m not sure what information is required, and ASF can’t respond because I can’t provide ASF with proof of account information i.e., certificate numbers which for some reason Fidelity say they are unable to disclose. Can you please tell me, for stock that was initially purchased by Fidelity on my behalf and subsequently surrendered back to Mobileye, how I recover my funds and what is Fidelity’s responsibility in an international cash transfer from a foreign government? Could you also please provide me with my stock certificate numbers so I can progress the transfer with ASF. I am sure you can understand my frustration. I have spent countless hours trying to access my funds and am getting nowhere. Additional info: 1) Fidelity account: Individual, account number X83680564 2) Mobileye N.V Corporate Action Notice a. Fidelity Brokerage Services Reviews & Complaints
Dear Fidelity team, I called the support this morning as my account seemed to be compromised and a stock “sales” request was executed without my knowledge and permission. Based on my perception of Fidelity, I would have expected a great customer service. What I received was a very disappointing service by Lisa (Fraud Department), Sam (Fraud Department) and Fammi (Stock Plan Group) when I asked what to do in these situations.in fact, I would like to provide you the feedback that you hold the record on the most unprofessional service that I have received so far in over 20 years in business. Your first agent, Fammi couldn”t help and transferred me to Sam who explained me that we might have security issues. This call ended up that I had repeatedly ask him what to do next as there was general silence on his side, no guideline and no structured procedure that would have led to resolve this case potentially quickly. At one-point Sam asked me to download the Symantec Token service and then explained no further instructions. After asking what”s next, he mentioned if I”m sitting in front of a web browser (and he didn”t mention to go back to the PC as he wanted me to download a mobile app) to change the settings of the security configuration. I then asked Sam how we deal with the stock sale request that was initiated and he mentioned “I don”t know”. You are probably able to image that this lack of professional customer support and guideline made me very upset and frustrated – I then asked for a supervisor as “I don”t know” to my question of how we can get sure that my account is safe and how we stop the current processing transaction, wasn”t extremely satisfying. I then got connected to Lisa who ensured me she will investigate this issue and recordings of the call with the previous 2 customer representatives. After you agent Lisa mentioned she would give me a call back, I waited approx. an hour to receive further communication. After a call that she gave me at about 12.15 pm PDT, she mentioned that she wanted to let me know that we are looking into other options. I asked what “other options” mean and how we can get sure we reverse or stop the current stock sell request transaction. Lisa answered “this can”t be done” but I”m free to complain to the local police and file a request. And again, silence on the phone. I would like to share with you that I got extremely frustrated and asked what about next steps, a support case number, next steps after a police report would be filed and generally a bit more caring customer support and service. Lisa”s answer was “she can”t share any information with me” and I”m free to complain to the Fidelity customer support complain team. Dear Fidelity – to summarize: you lost a customer today, not because of a potential security issue but because of your level of support and how you communicate and handle a long-term customer who has been investing with Fidelity for more than 15 years. Also, I find it extremely disturbing that you simply don”t care about compliance and security and that not one of your agents even asked for changing the user name or password until I mentioned this as logical next step. I also find it frustrating that there is a stock sale request in process that you don”t have any control off, even I haven”t initiated this request. I also find it very disturbing that your customer support agent “Sam” mentioned that the request was done by one of the devices that “I usually use” but he wasn”t able to identify the device or have any further information for me – of course that makes it impossible to narrow the risk or track a potential security risk. I”m taking the time to share this feedback with you (that will certainly be shared with my large network of business contacts) as your customer support is concerning, unprofessional and seem to be simply not trained or engaged enough to really help customers. I”m also taking the time to stand up against your poor understanding how you should support customers and I will bring this case in front of your management, I certainly promise you that. Until now I have no case number and didn”t receive any notification via email – in my previous call with your agent I received the information that “she doesn”t have the ability to send me an email with a case number or the contact information where I could send a police report to”. As a result, I had to write it down on paper as your system hasn”t enough capabilities to help customers. I certainly lost a customer today and I will get sure that this frustrating experience is shared with other of your customers as well, even you might simply don”t care about any response from your customer. As per this hour, there is still no guarantee that I receive any further support, that my account is “safe” against any other attacks and I”m left to myself to think about my funds and investment with Fidelity because you simply don”t take your customers seriously or important enough. best regards, Daniel Valik

Dear Fidelity, Until 09/01/16, my balance was OK and in accord with the market trend. Not after 09/01/16. After this day, my balance sharply decreased in spite of sharp increase in all markets. I understand that my asset allocation contains 46% of bonds and they decreased. On the other hand, market was increased in last 3-4 months about 10% and it should at least compensate my loss from the bonds. Please, 1. Send me the written explanation of my loss for the last 4 months of 2016: 2. Change my asset allocation: a/ decrease bonds to 30% and increase domestic stock to 30%. Every representative I speak with at Fidelity provides in accurate information and because of their negligence and incompetence I will now be evicted from my home. I will never work with fidelity and hope that no one has to go through what I will have to go through. This company is very inconsiderate provides wrong information about your funds as well as payoff amounts for loans and also turn around time for another loan. Fidelity holds so much money i their hands of so many people and can”t answer a simple question I don”t know how anyone can trust fidelity with all their money if they are so negligent when taking clients calls.

Fidelity – horrible service, fraud, incompetence, and unethical business practices Fidelity used to be great for over 30 years with them, now I hate them so much that I am transferring all my accounts to a reputable outfit that cares about customers – Charles Schwab. Fidelity is so nasty dealing with their many, many problems, are dishonest and even lie regarding the extreme Web page unreliability. heir web page functions are always breaking down, and turmoil from bad changes on weekly basis. Really poor quality operation. When you complain, hours and hours on phone with clerks who have no authority, are very unhelpful, and even lie and tell you no one else is having problems. t is sickening to do business with Fidelity. They make me sick, and I am taking my business elsewhere. Everyone I talk to and read about on blogs seems to have same problems with Fidelity and also hate dealing with them, and find them very unhelpful. Its so shocking that they just don”t care about customers anymore, and have become so dishonest and unethical

Fidelity allowed the unauthorized withdrawal of approximately $550 from my 401 K account this week by my previous employer. Moreover they nor the previous employer did NOT inform me of this transaction. When I called to inquire I received the run around. Agents leaving the phone for 15 or 20 minutes to “read notes” before I had to eventually hang up. Finally I was told by an agent the previous employer overpaid me as a result of continuing their contributions after my employment terminated. This was clearly not the case as I read every payroll stub during my employment and contributions to Fidelity ceased after my last check. I want my money refunded in full plus a penalty for my inconvenience until a full accounting audit is complete. I want a manager familiar with my case to contact me.

Fidelity changed its tax withholding policy on June 1, 2016 without notifying me. Although I am eligible to a 15% tax withholding rate according to the Canada-USA tax agreement on any distributions from my SEP-IRA account (ending in 4461), Fidelity, without notifying me, withheld, for the first time in the many years I have held this account and made distributions from it, 30% of my distribution for 2016, made on March 28, 2016. Of the distribution amount of $2, 992.06, Fidelity withheld $897.61 (30%). A completed and duly signed W8-BEN form attesting to my non-resident alien status and Canadian citizenship was sent to Fidelity in December, 2015 for the 15% eligibility under U.S. – Canada Tax Agreement, and was verified to be in my file at Fidelity by Fidelity retirement advisor Matt. However, this agent advised on July 20, 2016, that Fidelity could not “reverse” their action even though their changed policy was applied retroactively. Through its negligence to inform me of their changed policy, Fidelity is obliging me to file the 1040-NR IRS tax form in April of 2017 in order to get back the 15% withheld, namely $448.80. According to the IRS website, it will take about 6 months before the amount due would be refunded. As a Canadian citizen, to file a lengthy U.S. income tax form and then wait another 6 months until I receive the amount due from the IRS is not a procedure I agreed to when I opened my account with Fidelity over 10 years ago. This financial institution has an obligation to notify its customers when it makes policy changes in a timely manner. That was never done. Instead, Fidelity is applying a changed policy made after my distribution, retroactively. Had I known about the change, I could have chosen to roll over my IRA to another financial institution honoring the US tax agreement, withholding the only the 15% . I have attempted to resolve this matter with the financial institution over several months now, but to date have not received a favorable response. Ms. Judy B [protected] ext. 11919) who was identified as a Fidelity “supervisor” said in a phone conversation on July 20, 2016 that she would provide a response to 2 questions at an unspecified future time: (a) Will Fidelity honor their agreement and refund the missing amount of my distribution they withheld in March? If not, what is Fidelity”s reason for not doing so. (b) Are there any additional steps I need to take to file a formal complaint within the Fidelity firm? Rather than answer my two questions, she told me she could not “reverse” the withheld 30% even though it is obvious Fidelity does not owe this to the IRS until 2017. She did not answer either of my two questions above (a and b). For these reasons, I have filed a formal complaint with the Better Business Bureau and am also writing up this report for this website.

Fidelity Dispute On Sep 2015 we transfered 250k into the fidelity from my wellsfargo account after we recently sold our house and made our moved to Florida. I proceeded to change my address to a close family friend until our tenant was ready to move out of the condo we had rented. Fidelity froze my account and asked me to come in the branch in Altamonte Springs and verify my information due to the change of address, which I provide my drivers license, social security card, birth certificate, power of attorney, title documents proving the sale of the house and an utility bill for the address where we where receiving our mail. They then decided to close my account for unknown reasons and told me I would have to get wellsfargo to reverse the ACH transfer to the account. I went to the Wellsfargo office and explained the situation to my customer representative Hope Stiles which filed for a ACH dispute which Fidelity proceeded to tell wellsfargo that they where working with me personally to get my funds back which was a complete lie as I wouldn”t have pursued such actions if it wasn”t for their lack of communication and cooperation to return our money. Over six months later and Fidelity still has our money and has made no attempt to return the funds that where transfer. I am going to file complaints with the pertinent government agencies, SEC, consumer affairs, BBB, The complaint boards, /link removed/ occ.gov, helpwithmybank.gov and every other agency we can so this does not happen to anyone else. We are getting ready to file a lawsuit if they are not willing to fix this issue immediately as we have dealt with enough of this nonsense. It appears that Fidelity is trying to defraud me and my family of our hard earned money and we will not allow that to happened. This company can not be trusted.

Fidelity has used a variety of methods to steal the last bit of money in my Dad’s 401K account including delay tactics, placing a barrier between customers and decision makers and telling outright lies. I have asked Fidelity several times to help me figure this out but I have been rebuffed each time. As the executor for my Dad’s estate I feel that I have let him and my sister down. I intend to register a complaint with the Board of Governors of the Federal Reserve System. I would urge others similarly affected to do the same.

Fidelity Investments abhorrent handling of pension payout. I have not received my company’s pension payout handled through Fidelity. It’s been 3 months. When the timeline for payout came and went, (2 1/2 months) and I hadn’t received the check nor any notification of its arrival, I started calling Fidelity. Every day I call (Their reliability in calling me back is abysmal) with no results or updated information as to the now 2-week overdue payment. They don’t seem to have a grasp on their distribution process nor show any sense of urgency in accommodating my concerns with lack of payment. Their ripcord excuse is that the bank that distributes the funds, State Street, is looking into it and they are waiting to hear back from them. Stall tactics and finger pointing. I’m at a loss. Maybe my company’s ethics Dept. Would be interested in how one of their subcontractors is treating their employees who retired in good standing.

Fidelity Investments used several businesses in Columbus, OH area (between 2007 and 2015) to target me. The company I worked (JPMorgan Chase) for 2 years was told not to honor its commitment to pay me the right bonuses. Fidelity Investments paid serious bribes to people in the following businesses (Nurtur Salon, Dr. Christopher Will(Dentist), Bob Evans Farms, & OSU Medical Hospital) in order to target me with implants, chemicals, toxins, nerve agents and for even holding me hostage for 40 days. Dr. Will has placed several implants in my throat without my consent. Nurtur Salon has placed several implants & chemicals on my head, forehead and body (again without my consent). Fidelity Investments bribed doctors at OSU Medical center to falsify diagnosis and recommend me to spend 40 days in isolation. Fidelity Investments is blaming my former manager Jonathan Schapiro (currently with BI-SAM in Boston, MA) for all the crimes committed. Mr. Schapiro is currently using a newly developed technology at Fidelity Investments, to target me remotely, all the implants in my throat and on my body. This causes severe pain and at times chokes me because of implants in my throat. I have filed complaints with Ohio Atty General’s and Franklin County Prosecutor’s Office.

Fidelity Investments, Three weeks ago, I opened an account with you. Today, November 14th, I tried logging in, only to find that it had been locked. Okay, no big deal, so I call and I get to talk to some friendly representatives, which I do appreciate, however, the woman I was talking to told me that the reason they locked my account was because my “voice was too high pitched to be a man”. Not only did you lock my account for that period of time, but you also assumed that, because I have a high voice, that I am a female and in no way, a male. I understand that you probably did not mean this in a negative way, however, what I had experienced today was highly inappropriate, as well as disrespectful and insulting. I am not here looking for something in return for what happened, only to make sure this does not happen again to myself, or anyone else. There was not an apology for the misunderstanding, or anything like that. I would appreciate it if the matter was addressed with employees to prevent future complaints from your customers. Thank you, Dylan Landanger

Fidelity proves once again how difficult it is to do business with. It offers a labyrinthine website that is not interested in how much customer time it wastes. Poorly designed, difficult to use, a time-burner to accomplish even the simplest of tasks, like signing up for EFT service which we attempted today. Fidelity, like so many financial institutions, does not wish to make our lives easier or more profitable. If it did, it would create and present online systems and services that take into consideration our time and effort. 1 out of 10 rating. Banks are not our friends. But we knew that, sadly. Fidelity can do better, and we hope it will.

Fidelity received my QDRO, signed by the judge on 12/6/2019. The court failed to transmit the forms electronically to Fidelity so we had to mail them. Because they were not received electronically I was informed by David (Cust Srvc) on 12/31 that they had 30 business (not calendar) days to process them. The 30 days ended on 1/17/20. I have called multiple times for the status and get different answers and the run-around each time I call. All they tell me is it is being processed but no one can tell me when it will be completed. They tell me that the department that is handling it does not take phone calls. I have asked to speak to a Manager and am told that there is no one I can speak with. On 1/16, I spoke with Damien who entered a ticket to receive a phone call and marked it urgent for me. Never received a phone call. I spoke with Katie today and was told that right now it is with the legal department to verify the amount!!! It’s all on the forms and signed by a judge! What are they verifying?? She said it could take months! I have lost my residence, about to lose my car and may miss out on an opportunity with TSA due to their credit check because I have been waiting for months for this money to pay off creditors! I have never dealt with a Financial Institution so uncooperative and rude. I am beginning to wonder if I will ever get this money! I do not trust them at all! How can they play with people’s money like this? Reference # W389232-06DEC19

Fidelity reneges on it’s Bond trades by mysteriously removing the trade after it already fills. From what I noticed twice when this happened both times (May 28, 2009 and June 23, 2009) they seemed to find cheaper shares to replace my sold ones with thus sending me the bonds back into my account and taking my trade and money away (stealing money out of my account as well as stealing my trade). the trade went through on many forms of Their site, it was filed in the History or transactions, the Balance changed to support the trasnaction, Positions showed the shares gone that were sold, Third Party transactions showed the transaction took place, and orders showed filled with date time and transaction number. Over 30 minutes later it was wiped out without notification or justification or legality to do so. It is illegal to change a trade let alone claim to guarantee trades and not fulfill that guarantee nor make right of such acts being caught red handed. To rub salt into the wound the supervisors of the Fixed income desk are the ones who handle the complaints even though that is a conflict of interest this is how Fidelity handles such issues. If you have such issues with Fidelity trading like this or missing dividends and interest payments like I had twice before also, then contact the SEC web site and fill out their complaint form. In the case of the missing dividend they posted but then vanished like this bond trade, in essence literally taking money out of my account and only placing it back after you notice and complain. How many people don’t notice nor complain and how many Fidelity reps are allowed to continue to rip people off because their process of dealing with customer issues is geared towards the thief being allowed to give the client the run around avoiding investigation

Fidelity tired of my complaining about errors and invisibility of portfolio managers as well as invisibility of account rep. The only time I recd a call was when I initiated it! An instance – staff made an error in my retirement disbursement which affected my tax bracket and increased taxes. They reluctantly reimbursed me $1000. To cover increased taxes – I discovered this mistake purely by accident; what if I had not! My recent criticism was too much, fidelity froze three accounts and advised that I take my business elsewhere. They fired me!

Fidelity, after two months of calling them, and asking for how to proceed with filing for benefits after the passing of my mother, has now informed me that they are opening an account in my name, and when that is complete, I might then receive a letter about how to access my account. I thought only Wells Fargo (illegally) opened accounts without the knowledge of those they opened them for, maybe they are associated. I ***NEVER*** authorized them to open an account in my name. They do not have my signature on anything authorizing the opening of an account. The representative insists that this is the only “Legal” way to process a claim (opening an unwanted, undesired account). I explained to her how I went through the exact same thing with a Prudential IRA, except with Prudential, I called them, they sent me a form, I filled it out authorizing them to deduct and pay federal and state taxes, and had the balance deposited to MY PERSONAL account (not Prudential) within a week. They have promised over and over to send me information in the mail, or call back. They have not called back, and have not sent me anything in the mail. This has been going on since the third week in July. The only contact I have had FROM Fidelity investments was an email to a “Customer Satisfaction Survey” that is designed from the start to only allow people who are inclined to leave a positive review to leave one. Fidelity – 100% Fraudulent.

Good Afternoon, I am writing a complaint about Fidelity. I called and spoke with 3 different representatives at 3 different times and days I just wanted to make sure they were providing me the same information before I decided to pay off my loan in full, by the way my decision to pay off the loan was solely based off the information I was provided was accurate. My question to them was that I was going to pay off my outstanding loan balance, but I first wanted to know if I paid off the loan how much would I be eligible to re- borrow. The only reason I would have paid a loan for over 12000.00 dollars back was that I could re-borrow a larger amount to get my finances under control. I wanted to make sure I was making the best decision; each time I called all 3 representatives provided me with the same information. Once again each representative told me I would be eligible to re-borrow around 30, 000 dollars mind you they put me on hold and did these calculation, so I made the decision to go ahead and pay off the loan in full. I waited for the check to post on your website. I was made aware that it will be 14 day holds before you can re- borrow which was no problem. I go to the website today and go to loans and it shows on August 1st 2018 I will be able to take out a loan for 13., 800.00 on line, I was livid I can”t begin to describe the anger that I have. There is no way that I would have paid over 12, 000 dollars If I wasn”t reassured that this was the amount. I borrowed this money and the person who loaned me the money was trying to help me get my situation under control to find out that by the time I repay this loan back I may have 1000.00 dollars. I called today and spoke with very nice gentleman by the name of Daniel and he explained to me how he came up with the calculations and why the amount was so low. You have no idea how I can possibly be feeling and not even sure if you care, but this is just completely wrong and unfair. I am leaving work I am in destress regarding this entire ordeal. How could this happen I”m a person having a hard time I was depending on this money. I will be sending a letter to SEC making a complaint. Got a BS story from fidelity about needing 4 more days after a 3 day period to grant me a loan of my money. On their online business application it stated it will take it 3-5 days AFTER the submission. I am on the 6th day, and when i called. They said, it needs to go through 4 different clearing houses. When I asked WHY, they said it takes four banks including 2 chase banks. That takes 2 days, and I said so you are trading with my money??? I was informed they were not, and so I asked can you prove it? When I called chase, they said we do not process through a clearing house, we just move the money. I said to their manager, so Fidelity is using your name to buy them time, making you look bad. So, basically, fidelity is trading using my money to earn big bucks of their own. When I asked can I go to their facility to just pick up the check since the checks can be cut there. Silence filled the line, and said it already is on the way. Which chase has confirmed it is NOT on the way. Seriously, thinking of contacting a lawyer to see if they can sue them. As they are in violation of contract.

Gregory Kipple 100 Ocean Trail Way #908 Jupiter, Fl 33477 I have copied this to the SEC, FINRA, CBOE, FL Regulators and BBB I have had an account in good standing with Fidelity Investments for several years. I have been given the designation of “Active Trader” and am approved for level 6 option trading. I believed that the U.S equity markets were underestimating the seriousness of the Coronavirus and that the bond markets were confirming this. So I purchased 4 option positions on Friday February 21st to take advantage that the virus would become more serious over the weekend and the U.S. equity markets would pullback. I was correct however do to the negligence of Fidelity I could not sell my positions for the first half hour of trading the morning of Monday Feb 24th. For the third day in a row fidelity’s online trading capabilities crashed and their trading desks were under staffed to handle the volume of incoming calls. This resulted in losses of approx $30, 000 in my accounts. Facts: my intention to sell on the open was proved by the fact that I entered 4 orders online BEFORE THE MARKET OPENED to close out 10 SHOP feb 28th 525 strike Puts, 10 ROKU Feb 28th 125 strike puts, 20 CAT Feb 28th 135 strike puts and 3 naked TSLA Feb 28th 900 strike calls. When the market opened I adjusted the limit order on SHOP to close the position (take profit) as I planed to do with all of the positions. However, Fidelity’s system crashed resulting in showing my account to have a ZERO balance and holding no positions. I tried reloging in with no results. I could not see if my positions went off or not and could not adjust my orders with the intent to close them. I immediately picked up my phone and called Fidelity’s active trader phone number and waited on hold for 32 minutes. This is completely unsatisfactory and I should be compensated for my losses. Shopify opened down $44 and I could not cover until it was only down $19 Roku opened down $7.50 and I couldn’t cover CAT and Tsla also This is the third day in a row that Fidelity has let this happen. In periods of market turmoil is when investors need a reliable broker dealer. Fidelity should be ordered to compensate me for the lack of being able to control my account when most needed. Thank You

he reason I am reaching out to you is because I have been dealing with a simple issue with a great impact that has continued to go on for over 2 weeks already. I have spoken with the customer service and debit card services 7 times since Feb 18th. Once on 2/18/18, 3 times on 3/3/18, 1 time on 3/6/18 and now here I am calling again on 3/7/18 and the issue is not fixed. 3/7/18 outcome they advised me they will have the back office next day air me my debit card, now I am calling on 3/9/18 and the representative is now telling me they can mail out my card until 10 days of the address change, so what is the point of next day airing my debit card and why didn”t they tell me that on the 7th? All I have requested was to update my address and have a visa debit card sent to my new address as I had some fraudulent activity on my account and every time I call the debit card service team tell me they have my old address and if I have changed it will take 48 hours. I have been getting the same answer for two weeks already and I have spoken to 1 supervisor who assured me the issue would be fixed by today, I don”t know how a simple change of address can be so hard. I have been without a debit card for tow week already an I really feel this is unacceptable. Please excuse me if I sound rude but I am just really upset as I get paid tomorrow and I won”t have access to my funds.

Hello my name is Shaniki Smith, I’am file a complaint. I believe you some kind of computer error glitch. Also I notice when clients close there accounts with your banks, it seem to take long periods of time to closes. Almost 30 days. Please suppervise your employees. I know the owner should watch close to who he hires to his company. It’s said when your employees that you hire will be reason why you closed down. Please straight up my account. There was a -10 dollars on my account and it suppose to be 22.00 in there to have account. I have not had no problems with your bank. I believe someone trying to move away from your bank because someone has been calling my bank trying to get information. And the only reason they can’t check anything with your bank because they have my voice to activate it. Thank you! Shaniki Smith, [protected]

Hello, your employee, Katelyn Hughes, inquired about an apartment I have for rent. She mentioned no prior rental references but she can use Fidelity, her employer as a reference. I had responded we require rental references and good luck in her search. Katelynns response was that I had attitude, was rude, and she is sure my tenants “hate” me. I wanted to spread the word an employee of yours is being unprofessional and rude when trying to use Fidelity as a reference. I have a copy of the email if you need it, and have attached a screen shot of the email. Thank you.

I am disgusted with the Fidelity experience and will be moving my funds as soon as my request is complete. I submitted all of my paperwork accurately to receive my lump sum PepsiCo pension payment to be rolled over to my Fidelity IRA #[protected]. First, I received a check so had to call to get this changed since I requested it to be rolled over to the IRA. Then I received a notice that it was rolled over into an account that no longer exists. All this time, you have had possession of my funds. To make things worse, no one that I have spoken to has been able to help. I have spoken to multiple representatives including an escalation representative who told me nothing other than I needed to wait longer!! This is an absolutely horrific experience that I will be sharing broadly to anyone considering Fidelity. Soon to be a former Fidelity client. Ken Partyka [protected]

I am doing a rollin to my employee sponsored plan. I spoke to Andrew Seitz on Feb 7, 2018. He stated my two checks from JP Morgan were there and had been since Feb 1, 2018. NO ONE contacted me to let me know an additional rollin form was needed. Andrew stated to fill out the form and email it back and call him to let him know it was there and he could get the money deposited into my employee sponsored plan. I completed the form and emailed them back at 3:53 (two pages). I then called Andrew and left a voice message they had been sent and let me know if there was any other items needed. He never returned my call. I called three times on Feb 8, 2018. I only left one message asking if there was any issues and if I needed to complete anything else. Andrew NEVER bothered to return my calls. I called on Feb 9, 2018 and spoke with Mike McNamara who told me Fidelity didn’t recieve the signature page, which is untrue. The email sent back to WorkplaceGuidance.[protected]@fidelity.com at 3:53 pm CST n Feb 8, 2018 contained two scanned images of the required documents. Then Mike stated my checks had been sent out to me on the 8th or morning of the 9th along with a new form to fill out, which is the same form I emailed back to Fidelity. I am beyond angry at this point. He did try to calm me down. That didn’t work well. I asked for Andrew’s supervisors name and was not provided with it, I asked how to file a compliant and was told he (Mike) would recommend an investigation on my behalf. Never once was I allowed to speak to anyone or given a process of how to file a complaint. I found the compliant site by doing research on my own, which only added more anger to my already unsatisfactory issue. So now I have a three week additional process time to deal with which could have all been avoided if ANYONE from your company had bothered to send an email or call on the 1st of the month, or if Andrew had bothered to follow up with me, especially as I called him 4 times.

I am the PR for my mom”s estate. She died in 2008, in the midst of her death my brother never received his beneficiary payout from Fidelity. It took abt 6 months of constant fighting and a mountain of paperwork for me to get my settlement. Well, in January of this year while speaking to my sister in law it was discovered that my brother had never received his money from Fidelity. We contacted the company seperately and one morning I had to take time off from my job (as an insurance agent) to speak with them together, that morning we were assurred that the paperwork was coing and that his account would be made right! NOW, we are being told that his paperwork went to Colorado, where he has never even lived and ALL the money is GONE! POOF just gone, and they now are saying they wont talk to him or me, and my poor single Mom died thinking that she had taken care of her children only to have Fidelity rip them off!! SHAME on ALL of YOU!!

I am working with one of my former employers, Fidelity Investments, based in Boston, MA, on a settlement related to 20 years (since 1999) of targeting that has led to significant damage to my career and personal life. After nearly 16 years, in Dec 2014, the company took responsibility for everything done to me and promised a settlement. But they have not following through on their promises. The company communicates through an implanted phone (small receiver & mic), placed in my throat in 2013 without my knowledge, by my then dentist (in Columbus, OH). The phone is always connected to the company network.in addition, the company has placed implants and chemical agents all over my body. The toxic chemicals in my forehead acts as nerve agents and targets the nerves in my upper body causing severe pain. Apart from my former manager, Jonathan Schapiro (currently with BI-SAM), the CEO of the company, Abigail Johnson, is personally involved in my targeting. It also looks like the CEO is using gangs to target my son in Chapel Hill, NC (where he is going to school). I am worried my son will get seriously hurt. To be cautious, I have filed a complaint with North Carolina Attorney General in addition to Massachusetts. Please share this post with your network.

I called early Monday morning 8/6/12 at 9:49am to have a withdrawal taken against my 401K. I was told it would be processed overnight and I would receive the funds Wednesday (today). I thought it was strange that I did not receive a tracking number. I am now told this transaction was NEVER PROCESSED!!! This colossal error was made by a Mr. TORRI JONES; Fidelity’s 401K representative. I no longer have any trust in Fidelity, this has caused a major disruption for me being that these funds were expected today to take care of a dire family matter. I cannot STRESS HOW THIS HAS COMPLICATED MY SITUATION DUE TO THE NEGLIGENCE OF TORRI JONES!! Whether it be incompetence, inattentiveness, forgetfulness or just an oversight – this individual should not be in a position to “process” loan/withdrawals for Fidelity’s customers. As a long-time customer, I rely on the representative to be efficient, capable and effective in processing requests. Anyone that requires a withdrawal or a loan is doing so for important matters. This huge screw-up made by Torri Jones has impacted my family situation GREATLY and now due to this enormous blunder, I am left without funds to take care of my family situation in which I am relied heavily on. Torri Jones – Thank you FOR NOTHING! I will be passing this on and blog to alert others to this failure of a 401K representative. Sonya George

I called in on Dec. 10, 2019 to have my account rolled over. I spoke with an associate and was told the amount that I would be getting minus what the employer matched. When I received the check to deposit, it was not the correct amount. I logged onto my account and saw that they accessed a $25 terminated maintenance fee which was not discussed or told to me at the time that I requested the rollover. I called on 1/14/20 and spoke with someone named Timothy who was no help at all. He told me that that is a fee that is accessed if I rollover or with draw the funds. I asked to speak with a manager and he told me to hold. I held for 8 minutes and he got back on the phone reiterating what he had told me. I told him that I was holding for a manager, not him to get back on the line. I was once again put on hold. A manager named Jake got on the line and he told me that Timothy explained the situation to him. I explained what happened once again, and he said the same thing Timothy said. He said that he could not reimburse the $25 to me. I explained to him that if the associate explained all of the fees to me then I could’ve made a better decision on taking the money out or leaving it in. I was robbed of that choice at this point. I asked him for a manager above him and he said that there was not one. I then asked for a corporate number which he said there was not one, and I found the number on Google. He gave me an address to write for complaints. I’m very upset on how this matter was handled.

I called the early part of November 2016 to close out all accounts I have with Fidelity. I was told that my check will be rcvd by the 1st of Dec 2016 but I didn”t rcv it. I called and sooke to an Alisia and she said she was my point of contact and I will have my check by Monday, December 6th. I didn”t rcv my check si I called in and was viven the run around by several different fedility reps. I finally got on the line with an Asa Weisberg ext 18269 and he said it was a glitch in the system and my check was not processed. I told him i was told that last week and i want my money by Friday. I”m tired of being lied to and mistreated. He began to work with the back office to get my payment. He called me back as he said he would and told me i will have my payment in hand Friday because it was waiting to be picked up. I called Friday morningto get tracking number information because i had to leave and wanted to know the delivery time. The representative would not allow me to speak to him and even after i did the phone verification. I was then transferred to another woman that told me she will not transfer me to the ext i requested because i was not verified then hung up on me. I called again and again and again the David Pauly said no check was cut and he told me i couldn”t speak to Asa and i told him he was harrassing me because I”ve never been asked a series of questions as he was doing. We had a shouting match and i cursed him out then he hung up on me. I called again and was transferred to the fraud department and the mgr name Joan Schramm was and she went through verification again and then apologize for he horrible experience. She was the only one assisting me to get the information I initially called in for…my tracking number…going firward I will decline 401k if it is through Fidelity. You have the worst customer service.

I filed an appeal for unsolicited insurance premium deductions from my ibm pension payments. Fidelity appeal process seems to me a sham. They did not even assign a number to my appeal. Here is the full story: On july 1st 2015, I was retired from ibm because my job was transferred to global foundries. I signed-up for medical insurance with my new employer, global foundries. In august 2015 I received a bill for medical insurance premium from fidelity. Fidelity manages ibm services. I called fidelity he following day to inform them that I have medical coverage and declined the ibm medical coverage. I was told that I may receive a subsequent bill which I should ignore (It takes a month cycle to update). I did receive subsequent bills which I ignored as instructed. However on december 2nd, I noticed that my pension payment was reduced by about $1000. So I called fidelity to inquire. I was told it will take 5 business days to investigate why I am being charged for insurance and they will get back to me via phone. After 5 business days, I called again. I was told the investigation is done and it will take 2 more business days to reverse the deductions. 2 days later, I received a call from fidelity rep, who told me that they could not find a proof that I called to decline the coverage. That I should file for an appeal with the ibm plan administrator (Fidelity). So I filed an appeal on december 23, 2015. On january 28, 2016 I received a letter from fidelity that I don”t qualify for change of status. My appeal was about the fact that I declined the insurance coverage through ibm managed by fidelity and that fidelity failed to act on it.In the response letter fidelity indicated “although my claim was denied, I have the opportunity to request a review by the ibm pan administrator”. I am confused my first appeal was addressed to the ibm pan administrator. Fidelity appeal process seems to me is a sham. I believe fidelity in deducting insurance premium from my pension payment even though ideclined the coverage as soon as I received the first bill, is acting without due process and without transparency.

I had a complaint about how rude this Mexican Female call taker was. This idiot so called supervisor Tony got on the line, he was also rude with me and started arguing with me on how rude I am. I was trying to do a trade before 4:00pm and wanted me to lose out on today”s trade, and hung up on me. It sounds like to me there is a relationship between them two. I called back an idiot named Robert Parker got on the line and his first response was if you don”t like the way your accounts are being handled or treated, you can take your accounts to a different investment company. If I were you I would think twice putting any of your hard earned money into Fidelity. I will be moving my investments into a different company where their customer service people actually care about their customers and not how much money they can screw out of hard working Americans. Fidelity totaly mismanages customers investments. Fidelity is for the birds.

I had great difficulties making a time-sensitive wire transfer for a real estate transaction while traveling. I have been in contact with 5 representatives on 5 different occasions simply to get correct wiring procedures and a confirmation of wire transfer that must be submitted in a real estate proposal package. Very weak, incorrect and often conflicting information offered on each occasion and once by the same person (who initially claimed signature medallion required…wrong). I have over $500000k invested with Fidelity and would expect competent service.

I had my bank do eft. Recently I decided to move all money from my Regions account to my fidelity account. I called customer services because I wanted to know how it would take and when it would become available. I talked to the deposits side and the guy told me if I used the same bank in the past it would be quick in a couple days. I transferred everything. Fidelity has my money however has not aND refuses to make my funds available
