Fluesbrothers Chimney Service

I am a disabled veteran that recently medically retired from the US Army. We bought a property in Leavenworth, KS and I purchased a top of the line fireplace online. I contacted Fluesbrothers Chimney Service after being referred to them by a fireplace sales company. I explained to Ms. Biswell, that I had purchased a fireplace and needed someone to install it. She agreed to send someone out to the house and to measure and inventory the parts of the fireplace. Ms. Biswell advised me that installations typically cost $1,450.00 and I would have to pay the technician $199.00 at the time he conducts the review. The technician showed up, did his measuring and inventory of what I purchased and told me my installation would be between 20K – 23K. I told him that Ms. Biswell told me installations typically stay around the $1,450.00 price. I really felt like the company misrepresented themselves to me. I told the Tech I felt like they told me one thing and then something else (Bait and switch). I told the technican that I would frame the fireplace myself, and then I would call them back to do the installation. | Unfortuinately, today I got an email from Ms. Biswell stating that company policy is that since I did not pay the $199.00, they refused to do further business with me. This company lies and tries to take advantage of their customers. I tried to explain to Ms. Biswell what transpired between myself and her technican, she merely responded that they would not communicate further with me. I intend to see if I have a legal stand and to report this company to the Better Business Bureau. I rate this company a 2 on a scale of 1 to 10. VERY DISSATISFIED BY THE WAY THEY CHOSE TO DEAL WITH MY CONCERNS AND NEEDS.
