1/2/18 Have been a home improvement dealer in Augusta, Me. area since 1978. I have been purchasing dozens of doors and Schlage hardware along with moldings (wood and vinyl) and sealants each year since opening an accounts receivable card (4 for me and my crew) since the store opened. I went into the Augusta store this morning for 2 locksets and a deadbolt that I needed one to be keyed alike. A gentleman told me that Phil in electrical was the only person who could do that for me. He went to speak to Phil and came back to tell me he was busy with a customer. Told him that would be fine and waited. He was in the next aisle over and I saw him waiting on the customer. 20 minutes later he was helping a fourth customer in the same area (3 came in after me). One of those customers he was helping told me I should go get him if I wanted service. I did go get his attention and he reluctantly followed me to the hardware desk and we met his manager there where he immediately told his manager that he refused to help me. I don’t think he wanted to leave electrical and key a lockset. The manager simply said he was a long time employee and was excellent with customer service. No one was available to help me so I told the manager I would take my business elsewhere. Phil has been abrasive to me on other occasions and I chose to ignore it. I must remind him of someone he doesn’t like much. Home Depot was happy to help me and I bought more casing molding while I was there. Don’t think the 4 cards will be much use to me.
