10 days ago, I made an order with several handbags, they were in really good prices. I thought it was some kinds of clearance sale, so I spent hours to pick what I want. After placing the order, I received shipment notifications, and bank notice that they charged money. Then, I was expecting to receive this order; however, Gilt is call it back without notify me. When I see the package was delivered back to KY, I called the customer service, they told me it was a technician issue, and they can’t give me my order. I feels so bad, they don’t respect customers. If they notice me before charge money or even before take it back, I wouldn’t feel angry. I’ll understand that, but they didn’t. I think they deceived me, I’ll never trust Gilt anymore. Bad!

Bought a Max mara coat on sale. There is no description about the defect on the coat. When received the coat, there was an very obvious hole on the coat. The amount was wrong on the return invoice, so I wrote a few letters to confirm the amount. They reply slowly but promised to refund the amount I’ve paid. About two weeks later, when the refund came to my card, it is around 50 USD less. And they do not reply to my emails. Bad online seller and cheating the consumer.

Buyers beware!! I purchased 4 clothing items and after receiving the package decided to return the items due to fit. Processing a return with this company is a nightmare. I was told since they were purchased by another company any orders prior to july 9th are unable to be viewed. Also, that I would receive a call back in 3 days so they can return the funds back to my card. I was also told I needed to have my credit card info stored on the website to make it easier. First, I refuse to do business with this company again. Second, if you can’t process a return properly do you think I would actually store my credit card in your site? This is the worst customer service i’ve experienced from a company that is an app based shopping experience. Taking over 4 weeks to process a return is insane. Not only will I never purchase from them again, I seriously doubt I will ever see the amount I paid for these items. I feel like they stole from me. I should be able to shop, view, and track my return directly from the app all without having to speak to someone, hence the term online shopping. Now I have to wait for a call back in 3 days so that they can research my return. If I can’t answer, I have to call back and give my card info for the credit to be processed. I am beyond furious and appalled at their business model. It should not have been this difficult.

Don’t do it!! I’ll just list a few reasons that I have experienced personally. 1. Some merchandise is not authentic! I ordered “designer” towels once that tore up in the first wash. Took me two days to get all the pieces out of the washer and dryer. When I looked at the tag, it said “GILT”. They had a cheap towel made and had their own label put on it. 2. Many pieces I received had water damage and were damp. Like the stores returned them for being damaged and they sold them to us. 3. Retail prices listed are sometimes fictional. I once orders a bathroom accessory kit, only to find the prices listed on the manufacturers website cheaper! Everywhere had them cheaper and Gilt’s retail price was never associated with the item. Gilt said retail 100 our price 25, the manufacturer had it listed for 18. Hope this saves a few people. I’m done being a dope to this fraud.

Fake Michael kors suit, I own 3 authentic ones. They may have gotten it passed someone who never owned Michael kors but to someone who knows so obvious. Not only are the hot items gone right from the start but now at Gilt it seems that the leftovers are the main fare, recycled in many creative ways, still unappealing. But I digress, my recent purchase of some A. Maurizzi shoes was shipped to me with ONLY ONE shoe. I immediately called Customer Service and they offered me a refund but SOL no replacement or offer to look for the lost shoe. Gilt Group bought out Buy With Me .com, which is a coupon voucher site like Groupon. They do not service the city I live in, so I no longer was able to use my credits for BWM. I had a cash credit on my account, from before Gilt bought them. I requested a refund, and I was instructed to buy something. I do not want their stuff. It is overpriced, does not appeal to me, and is not the type of thing I buy online. They have REFUSED to give me my money. Keep in mind, this is not a refund. I never purchased anything to return. It is CASH VALUE that belongs to me and they feel that they have the right to keep it, or force me to purchase. No matter what I purchase, I would have to send them more money, and I am unwilling to do that. Yes, the group is a Scam with a capital S. Stay away, be warned, they are not legitimate.

Had bad experience. ordered a product, but when it arrived, it was not as advertised. at first they said no return, then said since it was my first purchase they would accept return, if i printed out return label. sent them an email, i have no printer, and they told me to go to a store or such to have return slip printed, they could not send me one. i live in very small community, and when i finally located place to have it printed out…the TIME had run out, and was no longer available to return. Have been shopping on Gilt for years and though the deals are great and shipping efficient the customer service SUCKS!! This Valentine’s Day they sent out a coupon for 10% off which would apply at the time of shipping and they would bill your check/credit card the discounted amount. The coupon was valid from Feb 8th Feb 16th until midnight which means at the time I am writing this the coupon is still valid. Anyhoo, I placed an order for a handbag spending $200+ w/shipping on the 14th. Checked my Credit card statement they DID NOT apply the discount and shipped the item on the 15th. Contacted them very politely, got the rudest response and a coupon valid for 3 days for $10. Which means to use that i have to spend more money…NO THANKS…BUYER BEWARE!!

I bought an Akribos watch for my girlfriend over Gilt. It was a final sale and allegedly discounted from $500 to $80. It took 5 weeks to come and stopped working within a one. We brought the watch to a watchmaker and they told us that the quality was that of a cheap fake. I was shocked and feel scammed. I would never buy from Gilt again. I would even go as far as to say that Gilt purposely sold this piece of junk as “final sale” because they knew that the quality was so poor. Gilt pretends to sell high-end goods at discount prices. In reality they sell faulty products to unknowing customers. I hope no one makes the same mistake I did!

I had the same issue, which then spiraled into something more! When purchasing, I didn’t notice that the Puritan’s Pride voucher could not be used on all brands. I then went on the Puritan’s Pride website and it turns out that of that list of 16 brands, a full SIX of them are actually NOT AVAILABLE for sale. I chalked this up to my mistake and managed to cobble together an order, which I placed on Jan 10th at 9:30pm from my home in San Francisco. The next day, I get an email from Puritan’s Pride claiming that my order can’t go through because my voucher had expired. True, my voucher expiration was January 10. But I assumed I could use it until the end of that day – what I did not factor in is that Gilt works ONLY on Eastern Standard time. What??? So much for being a national service. Both myself and the Puritan’s Pride customer service agent have attempted to speak with Gilt and they have refused to reinstate my voucher. This is the 2nd time this sort of issue has arisen with them. They are hard-lined about returns/refunds no matter what and the customer service people are unfriendly and unhelpful. I will be cancelling my account and warning people against them.

I have purchased many products thru my gilt app on my computer with no problems in the past but when I made a high dollar purchase ($454) for a freshology food delivery order I never received the voucher that is supposed to be sent back to you right after your purchase. I sent an email questioning this on a couple occasions and they told me how to update my email however there app does not allow you to do this feature which caused even more confusion. I didn”t understand why all my past purchases through this app worked out fine but not this time. The deal was also about to expire so after emailing and Speaking with a rep they stated to me this is a problem they are aware of and often happens with others. It seems their app is not fully functioning or capable. Well then shouldn”t this problem be fixed? The order I made specifically stated one purchase per member and since I never received the voucher and the item was going to expire I tried doing it again since it sounded like a mechanical error and I was told their system would flag it if you tried to buy more than one item since it was not allowed. I saw on my monthly credit bill I got charged for two purchases of $454. I only received the true voucher once I was told to log off my app and log in to their website to update my email. (Again, I have made many purchases in the past and never had to do this before). The rep confirmed that the FIRST emailed voucher never went through so she made a screen shot picture of it and forwarded it to me when it was already to late, now I”m stuck with two vouchers, one which is a screenshot from their end, how sketchy that is just by itself. This is all very confusing and obviously I called themto explain this sounds like a technical error, primarily due to their insufficent working app. I requested a refund and they refused. I explained I have been a valuable and constant customer to them and their own rules stated one purchase per person- not TWO! The freshology company states its one voucher per person as well- do they really expect me to just be out $454?! I then asked to speak with a supervisor and she stated because I had two emails I am technically two people so their one item per person does not apply since I am two people now- huh? I told her that both purchases had the same name, credit card number and address and that I am indeed one person, not two. The only reason I did anything with my email is because I never received my receipt for the first purchase. She just did not want to refund me. I gave her a chance to rectify this error but she refused so I told her I would be filing complaints and stopping my credit card charge while they investigate. It is sad because this is so obviously a technical error and if they had any customer service at all they could have easily rectified the situation and kept a loyal customer. Instead I am going through all the extra work of filing complaints against them. Beware- they only care about their bottom line and have no customer service. I will no longer be making any purchase in the future with them again!!!

I have spent over $32, 000 on Gilt.com and earned 68, 000 insider points. Gilt has a fine print policy that you lose your points (in this case equivalent to $200) if you fail to make a purchase within 6 months. They do not inform you of this policy and embed the notice of point expiration in a way that is very hard to see amidst the hundreds of emails you receive from them a month. After calling them 7 days after the point expiration, they offered me a special discount of 30% off an order up to $75 cap. I will never shop on Gilt.com again.

I ordered a Vera Wang dress from Gilt last week for my wife’s birthday. It was ordered as a surprise since I was scheduled to be in New York City all of this week. The dress arrived with a huge black plastic security bock attached (which weighed more than the dress)! Assuming that any Vera Wang boutique would have the equipment to remove the security block she went to the nearest Saks 5th Avenue to have this done. When she walked in the door a security guard confronted her since the dress had the security block on it. She was escorted by the security guard to the Vera Wang department and accused of of having attempted to steal the dress. Luckily she had the Gilt receipt with her. I attempted to e-mail Gilt about this and was confronted with their “online” complaint site that did not allow you to write more than 250 words and did not allow one to attached a photo of the problem. I was informed that their phone line was not open until 10:00 a.m. By the time I finally got through to their phone representative, he didn’t seem to think this was a big deal. Currently I have merchandise that was purchased for over $300 that I can not use. To be perfectly honest, having been sent out with the security block still on the merchandise, I honestly do not know if this is not stolen stock. I’ve asked to have it authenticated by Gilt. Do not purchase anything from this company!

I purchased a few gift certificates when it was still BuyWithMe and have since had a medical issue come up where I can no longer use them. Gilt’s response to receiving a credit for the certificates was basically tough luck bc they were bought through BWM and I guess are not taking any responsibility after aquiring BWM (I’m not familiar with any other aquisition where they claim they don’t have any responibility to the custiomer). I’ve never had a problem ever receiving a credit from any other group buy site or especially received any response such as this from their customer service where they can not even spell my name right or get the facts straight that I was looking for a Gilt credit and not a purchase refund: “Hello Terri, Thank you for contacting Gilt City. You have said before that you will be filing a claim with your credit card company we are assuming to get the charges reversed; as we are not responsible, nor do we house the funds form this charge, we fully support you doing so if you would like to receive a refund back to your card. As when we acquired BuyWithMe the financial information of their former customers did not transfer to us, we are unable to refund members in the way that you would like. We completely understand that you need to change your dietary restrictions, and know that having your bank retract the charges will be the best thing for you to do under the current circumstances. I purchased a gift for a friend on 1st of March to give on 15th. Because of a zip code error that I corrected right after my purchase (meaning minutes after my purchase), the item didnt arrive on 6th which was the date it should. After that I emailed and called the customer service at least 10 times to check where my item is since I wasnt able to track it. Since I couldnt get sufficient information(every time I called, I’ve been told that my puchase will arrive the next day), I contacted UPS many times and Gilt support also informed me that they did. Though they could only figured out on that the item is lost 14th. I informed the company every time I call that I need the item latest on 15th, if it wont be possible I should find another way. Eventually today is 14th, they refund my money which prob be in my account in 5-7days and I am still without a present. That was the first and last time I ever buy anything from Gilt, since there are many other private shopping sites to see if they can provide better basic customer support!

I purchased an inexpensive canvas from gilt.com. I was shocked when I received the notification that it would take 2.5 to 3 months for the item to ship. I quickly proceeded to contact them and request that the order be cancelled. The response was that given that the item was in their warehouse and was being prepared for shipment, they couldn”t cancel the order. Really?!?!? An endless exchange of emails and phone calls back and forth – all indicating that the order cannot be canceled as the item is being prepared to be shipped and that it would arrive in February…3 MONTHS from now!!! I am unaware of any shipping method in this century that would take this long and yet they would not proceed to cancel the order. That”s a very dishonest excuse. This is the absolute worst experience I have ever encountered from any eCom sites. And to think that a high end retailer like Saks Fifth bought gilt.com is beyond comprehension. I used to buy from them regularly but I will never transact with them again…ever!
