Global Crossing Local Services

A man with a noticeable accent left a message on my mom’s land line answering machine identifying himself as Steve Martin. He said he was calling about an “inforcement action” by the US Treasury. He threatened that ignoring the message would be an “intentional second offense to avoid appearance before a magistrate judge, or a grand jury for a major criminal offense.” He gave his number as 424-294-1728. He had called and left the same message a few days prior, then as I was performing a google search on the number, he left a second message within about an hour’s time. Mr. Steve Martin never identified who the message was for. My (quick) internet search placed him in Hawthorne California with a company called Global Crossing Local Services. There was also reference to Malibu California on the website I used. When I did a search on this company name, there were several pages dedicated to scams all over the US with a wide range of scam tactics, usually intended to sound official and threatening, naming several different official offices and organizations. .
