They make it sound like it’s helpful and legitimate, but as soon as cash is withdrawn and sent it is gone. A few days later the checks come back as “fraudulent or fictitious at the bank. By that time, it is possible that the potential nanny has already sent cash to an offshore account or different state. | GoNannies should have an up-front warning about these kinds of scams similar to what other websites such as Craigslist have in plain sight, warning people never to get involved in anything that involves cashier’s checks or wire transfers. A member of my family naively sent cash over a wire through moneygram. It is gone forever.
