We had such a terrible and disappointing experience at the Gotham Escape room. This was our first escape room and it was just about the worst experience you could have as a novice. Without getting your hopes high, I would state this escape room has a very ordinary vibe and gives you a boring experience and spoils your mood if you are up for some fun. We attempted the Game of Stones and it was certainly no fun at all! We played Game of Stones escape room with 4 individuals. It was a weird-structured room and we got out with around 30 min to save because we were so bored with it. The run of the mill numerical mix locks are so repetitive and no fun at all. This is so common and is found in almost every escape room. This is such an indication of their bad planning and a lack of creative ideas. The puzzles were common and easy and we needed to utilize the same kind of components and did not need to cooperate and help each other, to tackle these riddles. They were so damn easy and not challenging at all. The outdated theme made us lose all the tiny bit of interest we were left with. The iron throne did not seem real at all and did not help to make the game interesting. The props are a mess. They should urgently hire a new designing team to design some attractive props if they want their business to survive. The dim lighting was the biggest flaw. This component of \”challenge\” isn\’t constantly available to all participants, and I think If they added a choice to have more brilliant light in line with participants, it would be progressively better for the room. Or then again they can spend some cash to give electric lamps. Be that as it may, I know for instance individuals with poor vision or awful night vision would experience difficulty in certain pieces of this break room, and that is not only because of the riddles, simply down to the lighting… Inside and out we found the room very much unstructured and no fun. The riddles are incredibly poorly designed and I have seen almost all the puzzles they have here because I have been to many better escape rooms. I believe it\’s high time to do some maintenance on their escape rooms. The planks of flooring are falling apart, sliding all over the place. We additionally had one riddle understood however whoever should advance the game behind the drapery didn\’t hit the button…so we waited around for another couple of minutes before they provided us with some insight into what had happened. The staff is not supportive at all! I am certain I\’d never return. We as a whole felt like we were set up for failure. With so many technical difficulties and outdated structure, they should renovate this place because this is hands down the worst escape room we\’ve been to so far in Philadelphia.
