I went to Grin Orthodontics for getting the pieces of braces off of my granddaughter’s teeth. This incident happened a few months ago. We met a doctor named George Nauert there. I never heard of this dentist and he looked quite different as well. When I tried to go to the dental room with my granddaughter, the staff told me that I’m not allowed to go in there. It was a big red flag and I should have realized that this place is really bad then. What were they doing in that room? Being the guardian I have the full right to make sure that my kid is safe and secure. They took some x-rays of my granddaughter and persuaded her so that she gets her braces restored. We went there to take the braces off, not to get them restored, but the greedy dentist wanted to make sure that he gets the most money out of us. My granddaughter has Medicaid and I did not say no to the restoration assuming that the Medicaid would pay for it. They asked her to go back to the office for getting some x-rays done. After a few weeks, we came to the GriN Orthodontics clinic once again for getting the braces restored. My granddaughter actually lost the main wire of the braces and some of the brackets were missing as well. I called the office to make sure that they don’t have any problem with me attending the treatment with her. I wanted to stay in the treatment room with my granddaughter just so that she doesn’t get scared. As soon as we reached the front desk, the receptionist gave me a contract type of document which was supposedly for financial responsibility. They did not give me a plan for the treatment, the dentist didn’t even discuss his plan of action or why was he even doing the procedure in the first place. I wasn’t told how long it would take and no one told me how much would I be charged for it. There was no talk at all! They were trying to make me sign the financial responsibility form which made sure that they can charge me whatever amount of money they want to. I told them that I am not signing any document until they clarify the situation to me. The receptionist took me to the main office where the contract stated that I would be charged a whopping $6000.00 and they will take $130 every month for the next 30 months (added late fee). And they didn’t explain anything to me even now! I just refused to sign such a contract and took my granddaughter home. We got a phone call from the creepy dentist, who was trying to convince us to come back, I knew that this was a scamming business and I hung up the phone. GriN Orthodontics is a place you should avoid. I will never take my kid to a place where they don’t allow guardians in the room where they treat kids.
