Robert Griff, aka Robert Griffiths of Grosslending.com purported to be a private lender. He offered an unsecured personal loan in the amount of $15,000 at a rate of 15% for 5 years. | I agreed to these terms and agreed to pay an upfront service fee of $500 which was sent to him via wire. | The contract is attached here. | Mr. Griff aka Griffiths, then attempted to make me pay an addtional $687 for a “collateral fee” before he would make the loan. When I refused, he dropped that to $325. I said that I would not pay more as our contract had called for the funding of the loan based on the $500 service fee only. | Mr. Griff aka Griffiths, agreed to fund the loan at this point with no further money being paid upfront, however, he required that he would wire some funds to me and then I would wire some of that back to him so he could “make sure I was who I said I was.” He would then fund the remainder of the loan after that. | I agreed to this on the condition that my bank would be able to confirm the money that was being wired to me was legitimate and not part of a scam or from a fraudulent source. | Mr. Griff responded, “ok”. | That’s the last I heard from him. He has subsequently not responded to any email attempts at contacting him, nor has he answered my phone calls. His voice mail says that it’s full and messages can not be left. | He is clearly a ripoff artist and scammer. He has taken my $500 and I will likely never see that returned.
