I’ve used guru.com for the past few years to hire freelancers. Of the several of these services out there, the quality of their service and freelancers were mid-level. I recently hired a freelancer and put the money for their contract in their “Safe Pay” escrow account. Two days later, the money is gone. The freeloader (lancer) did one half hour of the 15 hours assigned. I was never presented with an invoice nor requested to release the funds from the escrow account, the company just did it. Guru does not answer calls or respond to emails at all. BTW, the name of the freeloader I hired is Richard Lapiana (The Phone Pro) in Depew, NY. .
