My personal hobby is to collect coupons and save as much money as I can on my purchases. There was no exception when I had to take my car in for service, I got online and found a few coupons to use at H Car Repair shop. I went to this center to drop off my car, it just needed a breaks adjustment, so that should have been quick. It wasn’t, I spent my whole day just waiting for someone to help me, I requested service at least 4 times, and no one came. After a good 2 hours of waiting, so I decided to just leave.
I ended up going back a few days later since this was the most convenient location to service my car, I drove in again and prepared myself for a long wait. This time someone received me as soon as I entered, I was optimistic about this visit, so I went with the mechanic, a man named Josh, and we talked about the car and the repairs it needed. Josh checks the car and tells me it needs several repairs worth $4500. I inquire about the repairs needed, and he keeps doing this gesture with his hand as if I wouldn’t understand it if he explained it to me. I felt insulted, but I didn’t want to get into a fight right there, so I just listened as he told me how long the repairs would take.
At checkout, I mention my coupons, and the register lady says they can take them. As I am picking them out, she mentions that only one coupon can be used per purchase, I explained that I had coupons for the individual repairs, so she had to apply them all. We discuss for at least 30 minutes until she says that there is a way to take them all, and it was for me to pay for each repair individually, therefore, making around 6 different transactions. I requested a manager immediately, that situation was completely absurd, I felt robbed. The manager finally solved the issue with the coupons and agreed to take all the discounts in just one purchase.
At this point, I had spent a total of 6 hours in that place, I was desperate to leave, the last thing the manager said was that I would have my car ready in 4 days.
Honestly, I would’ve been ok if they told my car was going to take more than that, but they just lied to me. The car was not ready in 4 or 5 or even 10 days, I spent a whole month without it! And every time I called asking for information, I always got the same response, the car will be ready in a few days, we will let you know when it is.
I think the worst part would have to be the way this whole thing ended, I personally had to go to the Car Repair shop and request for the manager (again) to finally get my car back, which had been ready for more than a week!
