Do Not Buy The InStyler! I purchased the InStyler October 2009, in the 2-for-1 deal. My sister and I wanted to give each other the InStyler for Christmas 2009. I have used it maybe 2 or 3 times since December 2009. This morning, with half of my hair straightened, the rotating iron part came loose, the top cap came off, and screws came out. I tried to fix it after the iron cooled, but to no avail. I pulled out my credit card statement from October 2009, and called the 1800 number. I was told that the 12-month warranty had expired. I said I understand, but is there anything they could do for me, since its only 13 months since I bought it, and less than a year since I actually could start to use it since it was a holiday gift. I was told there is nothing they could do, so I asked for the supervisor. I explained the story, noted that I understood the 12 months had come and gone, but surely there is something he could do for me. He said he could not, so I asked if I’m just supposed to be okay with shelling out $140 and having their product literally fall apart 13 months later. He said he was “sorry I feel that they cannot help me”, to which I responded “well, I do nto FEEL you cannot help me, you literally are NOT helping me”. I went on to say I would blog about this crappy product and evern crappier customer service, and email every woman I know…UGH!

DO NOT BUY THIS PRODUCT OR GIVE THIS CO. ANY OF YOUR BUSINESS!!! Instyler telemarketers are “bait and switching” customers and then when you try to return this terrible product, they claim you’re not telling the truth. This company is a scam! The telemarketer secures the sale with “bait and switch” offer, as they relentlessly try to upsell. (They got me to say yes to almost $200 worth of extras). The worst part is that I was told I could keep the 2nd one that they are sending for free, even if I was unsatisfied with the one I try. I asked why I would do that if I wasn’t satisfied with the product, and they replied that Instyler is so committed to spreading the word about their products, that they’d want me to “pass it on” to a friend …because it might work better for someone else. After all, she said, that’s what I get for my trial fee. In any event. I tried the product and didn’t like it. Tried it again and again, thinking I was doing something wrong, and still didn’t like what it was doing to my hair. When calling back to return I was relentlessly upsold AGAIN with other offers so they wouldn’t lose me, (including knocking over $45 dollars off my bill!!!) -go figure that one!. After 15 minutes of pleading with me to keep it, I finally said THIS IS ENOUGH and told them I was done. They finally gave me a return number and instructions, which included returning BOTH instylers. I was so annoyed that I called back to speak to a supervisors when I recalled that wasn’t “the deal” sold to me. The supervisor took absolutely NO responsibility and told me that he couldn’t believe me, that I must not be telling the truth. When I told him I had no reason to make this up and that I wasn’t calling to keep the product becuase I liked it; that I was calling on PRINCIPLE! He claimed I was in on some scam from a blog and told me to return both products today or I would never see my credit. I plan on reporting their company to as many agencies as I can so others are not taken advantage! DO NOT BUY THIS PRODUCT OR GIVE THIS CO. ANY OF YOUR BUSINESS!!! PS: For whatever it is worth, the product they sent me also did not have the upgraded computer chip I paid extra for and it broke after only three uses/attempts.

DO NOT WASTE A DOLLAR OF YOUR MONEY!!! Biggest rip off ever and customer support suggestion is to give them another $100 plus buy an extended warranty. They have a product that they know is defect, they know the top of the barrel comes off. I used this item 5 i repeat 5 times not only did it fly across the room it burnt my face and hand. They sell this item as a buy one for 14.99 and get second one free trust me if you can even get it to work you will need second one it it last past 5 uses. Save your money give the 100 away money will be better spent.

DONT ORDER THE INSTYLER!!! Half-rate product, POOR Management!!! I ordered the instyler trial. Was unhappy because my units were cutting out as I was using it. I called to cancel at the end of the trial and spoke with a very helpful agent who said she would send out a dvd and super shine kit, which might help it work better and she would extend my trail for 14 days. I never received the dvd or shine kit, I called on Nov. 3 to cancel. I spoke with a very kind gentleman who stated it sounded like my units were defective. He would send me out the dvd and shine kit and if I would send back the 2 defective units, he would send out 2 new units with a new 30 day trial. He also stated that he would delay payments until the new trial was over and *** one payment so there would only be 2 payments due. I sent back the units, was shipped 2 new units. I noticed that I had a charge from instyler for $66.63. I called today to find out what the problem was and am very disappointed with the service I received. First of all, CHRIS (the one that runs the california customer support center, supposedly) was quite rude and basically accused me of lying about the new trail period. I asked to speak with his manager. He stated he was the one in charge and no one else. The only thing I could do was write to corporate. I will do this, but just wanted to let everyone know how poor the customer service is for a half rate product.

Good Afternoon, I decided to try the product which was advertised for $14.99 for a trial period of 30 days with a full refund if not satisfied. I was not satisfied and called to cancel trial and I received authorization number. I mailed the product the very next day. A few days later they charged my credit card 72$ and in Aug they tried to charge me again but thankfully I had my card number changed therefore the bank rejected the extra charge for 86$. I now get a letter from collection agency ask for 93$ for a product I returned months ago. I called them about it and customer service was very rude and hang up on me when I had asked for fax number to fax my postage receipt. this company is fraudenlent–they claim they did not receive my return however I know they received. their trick is to say consumers did not return product and report them to collecting agency. this happened to 3 of friends by far. I refuse to pay the 93$ for something I did not use. I call to speak with supervisor, he claimed his name was ted but I believe it was a false supervisor. Supervisor was rude as well. something needs to be done about this.

I am extremely dissatisfied with the InSytler customer service I received on October 22 from a lady by the name of Lynn in your order tracking department. I placed my order for the InStyler product on August 31, 2009 and was misled to believe that the shipping time would take no longer than 6 weeks.It has been almost 8 weeks now and the only information I can get from your website is that the product is in the warehouse and will ship soon. I decided to follow up on my own and that is when I had the short conversation with Lynn before she hung up on me. She seemed to have trouble finding my order using my last name and at that time I was welcomed with the dial tone. I called back and was able to speak with a manager by the name of Ted. He informed me that the $14.99 charge never went through on my credit card, and that is why the product was hung up in the system. As further development, I was told that my order was placed using an old software and that is the reason for the cancellation. He said that I would need to place a new order under his new system. How does your company operate like this? You must have lost a lot of sales with the way this transition between softwares was managed. I still can’t understand as to why this was not brought to my attention earlier as opposed to me waiting an unnecessary amount of time. Also, I am not sure why your website never said that the order was cancelled instead of saying it would ship soon. As a new product in the marketplace severly relying on word of mouth marketing, you have not given me a lot of good things to share. Unfortunately, I would have to say that I’m very disappointed with your online ordering, and I would not recommend buying your product. Mainly because if your product is anything like your corporation it doesn’t give me any reassurance in the quality.

I bought the instyler rotating iron about 5 months ago for Cd$ 😯 and it still hasn’t being sent to me.I e-mailed the company several times but they either never reply back or reply whenever they feel like it and they never give any concrete excuse. The company is fraudulent and should be treated as such by law enforcement. The warning sign was that they don’t have a phone number and I regret buying from them period!

I have had two Instyler’s burn out after very little use. Now the company will not refund my money. I do not have the time or patience to return this product every time they fail to work. They want to give me another Instyler, I no longer trust the Instyler. The product is not made well if it can’t stand up to minor usage. The product is unreliable. I purchased this product in the Spring of this year (2009)It didn’t last 6 months. The product worked well when it worked. I would not recommend this product since the company will not issue a refund when their product malfunctions.

I ordered instyler on December 22, 2009. It is now mid May, I have not recieved the product. But the reason I am very mad is because they charged me for it. 3 payments of 30 bucks for nothing. I keep tracking my order and it says that it is in the warehouse and will ship soon. I sent an email to customer service and it was completely ignored. I don’t know if this has happened to anyone else who ordered instyler from their “official website”. If anyone else had this happen and got the product please post what you did to fix it.

I ordered the INSTYLER from www.instyler.com. I received my Instylers and I love them. The problem came when I noticed a strange charge on my statement yesterday. It said SAVEACE ( what the hell is that?) and I was charged$19.95. I called the number that shows up on my statements and they provide a bogus website for me to go to. The Instyler company sold my credit card info to a parasite company. It as simple as that. I looked over my past statements and saw they charged me 3 times. The first time being when I placed the order for the Instyler. I’m contacting my bank as soon as they open tomorrow.

I ordered this product for my daughter because she has frizzy hair and it works great but I’ve only used it four times since I bought it. So today she asked if I’d straighten her hair and I pull it out and start using it and notice the bristles are starting to fall out of the damn thing!!! One side of it is perfectly fine but the other apparently has issues!!! I paid way too much money for this thing and now the warranty is up!!! How do I even get replacement parts and why are they even allowed to charge so much for a product that’s just going to fall apart after a few uses?!

I ordered this product per Amanda on October 5th 2008, after not receiving the product for a month and a half, I called to cancel order. I was told I could not cancel for it was processing. I was charged $149.96 0n dec 11th but did not receive the product until December 30th. I returned to sender with out trying the product. The service I received cost me $102.00 in over draft fees and $11.48 in return receipt. I felt after the service, that I did not receive, I needed to have proof I returned product for a reimbursement of 149.96 to my acct, now I have to wait to until Jan 30th to call back, wait on hold to speak to Chris (Manager) who has been wonderful in helping me resolve this matter, to have him transfer me to Marissa which the first time I was disconnected, who is his manager and get my overdraft and return receipt cost returned due to fraudulant advertisememt.

I ordered this product which advertised for $119.00. If you purchased it for $119.00, they said that they would send you a free one. I received the two InStylers & my friend & I can’t even get it to work. It is sitting in our closets. Now I continue to be charged for these things. I just got off the phone with customer service & I am being charged $207.00 for this product. They also said I ordered a chip to be put in it to heat it faster. They charged me for a trial ($14.99) of a product that I bought. They continue to send me hair products even though I have told them to stop sending them. I see new charges on my credit card statement every month. BEWARE of the website. They told me I approved items that I did not!!! They are also charging exorbitant shipping charges on items that I didn’t order. The product looks great on the website, but this is the worst scam I have ever dealt with!!!I am reporting them to the BBB.

I placed an order on December 5, 2008 for the instyler product.. A couple of days later, I tried to track my order online via their website.. It came up saying they could not find my order, I then called the customer service number they gave and they said it would take 72 hours for the order to appear in their system. I waited 72 hours longer.. they still could not find my order.. I gave the Rep my info and my phone number and she told me her Supervisor would call me back .. I waited three days and then called the company back..I spoke with another Rep. and he told me ” We found your order and it’s being processed as we speak. I told him to cancel the order, he told me he couldn’t because it was in process. I told him that there wouldn’t be enough money on my card and it would be declined. I also told him not to run it through again if it was declined. Needless to say, a week later, I checked my credit card account and sure enough, they put it through..AGAIN.. So, back on the phone I went and I spoke to another REP. She told me that they put it through twice… I told her the whole story and I also told her that the other sales rep was supposed to put a note on my account NOT TO RESUBMIT…All she told me was that noone said anything about not resubmitting..Supposedly, the order has been shipped and was supposed to arrive at my house on the 24th of December by 4:30pm… Today is the 26th and still no product.. Aword of advise to all the people out there that watch those infomercials STOP.. CHANGE THE CHANNELL… I got screwed and I don’t want it to happen to anyone else…

However, I made an error on the order so I called Dec 3, to correct the error and was told the order wasn”t in the system yet, that it takes 24 hours. I called again Dec 4, told order not in system, takes 48 hours. Called again Dec 5. still not in system, told it takes 72 hours. Called again Dec 6, still not in system, told they don”t know why.

I purchased the Instyler online. I had thought I was purchasing a two for one for $14.99, after I placed the order and realized that the charges totaled $139.96, I immediately called the number listed on the website. The number directed me to dial another number which of course was not valid. I then immediately sent an email to have the order canceled. My response was received two days later indicating the order had been shipped. Today I received a call for a “representative” who was attempting to sell me additional products. I explained that I canceled the order the same day I placed the order in which her response was she would transfer me to customer service. She transferred me, and what a surprise I was told the number was not valid and was hung up on. I attempted to call the number in which is was called from, and again, conveniently I received an immediate busy signal. This business is a scam and a complaint was made to the Better Business Bureau.

I purchased the Instyler shell rollers for a free trial for 30 days. They did NOT work on my hair as advertised. I waited on hold for over 20 min. 2 days in a row to get an authoroization code to return them. This department is only open M-F for very limited hours. I wrote a written explanation complete with phone numbers and returned them before my 30 days were up. Instyler returned the rollers to me with a note saying I had to follow their return policy. It is impossible to get through to customer service to get an authorization code. Now my 30 days are up and I will have to pay shipping twice, even if they will waive the 30 day period. What an expensives waste of time and money! Please help me get credit for the 2 months they have charged me 39.99 each month and stop the next 2 months fees.

I purchased the Insytler rotating iron and burned the side of my face by my temple area and my neck.I took it back right away, nothing should ever be that dangerous to leave anybody with 3rd degree burns. The company needs to consider safety guards to prevent a person from serious injury. Imagine if this was a child that could’ve been injured, and this iron doesn’t even come with some sort of stand to set it down some where with out melting something. All I know is I won’t suggest anyone go buy this Instyler iron.

I received my Instyler with no return instructions (paid through PayPal)and no receipt was included. I was still very excited about my purchase. I plugged it in and it started heating up while I was applying my make up – it suddenly popped real loud and smoke came out. The indicator light went out. I checked to see if it would rotate – it would not. It is completely burned up and I never even used it. I am still trying to see if I can secure a refund and where to return it. This is dissapponting to say the least.

I thought this product was great until i used it the first time & half way through doing my hair the brush started to melt & burned my head badly! I just spoke to the company because in edition to that problem, they decided on their own to changed the dates at which they were to automatically withdrawal the money for this product out of my checking account, changed my payment dates without permission from me without my knowledge . So I would never suggest this product to anyone! Since they when I called to have this problem fixed, they did nothing. They told me to send the product back with me paying the expense of postage & packaging, also because of this situation it caused me to not have the correct amount in my account for other important bills such as rent! You do not change pay dates for this product or any other without informing the person who is the account holder, this product is defective & they will not do anything to fix the situation. I would not suggest anybody to get involved with this company, they are rude disrespectful and a representative’s hung up on me while speaking, i called back to speak to a supervisor about his rude behavior and her response was that she would try to speak to him and that what he said was incorrect about the return policy, I got two different answers, so obviously they are unaware of their own product and policies! I feel this is the worst product I have ever invested in, and it has caused a great deal of problems within my checking account. At this point I do not have my rent money because they have decided to change they dates on which day they take the money out. They use if as if it is their very own account, right now my bank is changing my bank card number so they can no longer take money that’s not theirs from my account. just be careful if u decide to invest, because they will not work with you in any way.
