This is to warn others of a dog breeder that we found via Puppyfind.com. His name is Jason Gingerich and he lives in Wellman, IA. We purchased an Olde English Bulldog from him on 03-08-15, with in 24 hours of purchasing him we noticed he was sick. (We opted to find a breeder locally because we thought it would be easier if something were to go wrong) I contacted him immediately with my concerns…coughing, yellow snot…bloody mucusy stool. He played everything down, stating that it was from stress and to give it a few days. He stated that his vet had check all of the puppies and they were fine. (though he never could provide me with proof or the name of his vet when I asked) At his puppy check later that week, he was dx with a severe case of Coccidious and pneumonia. He was admitted for the pneumonia, and nearly died. All the while I kept in contact with the breeder letting him know what was going on, despite the fact that he was often attacking me and calling me a liar either via txt, email, or phone. He later admitted to me that 2 out of the 3 littermates that he had left had in fact died from the illnesses that our boy had. Telling me on multiple occasions after this that he wanted to do the right thing, and that he would refund a portion of our vet bills since he was sold to us sick. Even though his health warranty stated: no vet bills paid, replacement only. That being said, even at the beginning, he never offered to take the pup back….until the last time I spoke to him on May 13, 2015, and that was only because he was sick of me “harassing him” as he put it in the text message. At the time we picked up our puppy he was also breeding and selling Rottweiler and Newfoundland dogs, that he admitted to, he may have others since he has a “buddy” that he works with. He has removed himself from the puppyfind.com breeders data base, I have yet to find where he is listing his puppies now. Just know that he isn’t in this to better the breeds, he is strickly in this to profit and he doesn’t care one bit about his dogs or his customers after the sale. .
