Jeremy came to our home and gave us a bid for work. He wanted a deposit to make sure we were serious about him doing the work and the schedule we agreed on. Made sense. We gave him a deposit against the bid he gave us for the trim work on our house. He showed up to do the work and began the work but didn’t complete it. After several weeks of appearing and not appearing to do a little work now and then, he disappeared when I told him I would only be mailing checks to his address for the work. The address turns out to be bogus. He left his tools in our home, which we hope to sell to recover some of our loss, approximately $1500 of unfinished work already paid for. Jeremy lays claim to have been doing carpentry work since he was 13 or 17, not sure because of conflicting accounts. He drives a white Ford 4 X 4 work truck, diesel, age around 27-30. He does have some carpentry skills, but prefers not to work and run his scam, unfortunately. He has an assistant named Damian (very little carpentry skills, if any) and another work assistant he used for one day named Jessie, an older man who seemed to have adequate carpentry skills. Steer clear of Jeremy Toms. Will rip you off as he did us. .
