I had an unpleasant experience with Johnson Alfa Romeo of Cary. I always doubted second-hand cars, but never through things would get this worse.
I am a teacher in one of the high schools in Cary, and using public transport slows me down, especially when I have a morning class. My kid also happened to join junior school early this year, and I felt she was too young to be boarding the school bus every morning. With this in mind, I decided to collect my salary, dividends, and saving to buy a car. However, the money I collected was not enough to get a new car, and so I decided to go for a pre-owned car. Although I have always had a dream of owning a car, I could not let my kid board the bus every owner. So I started weighing the available options. After checking a few dealers in my locality, I happened to come across Johnson Alfa Romeo of Cary, who offered a pre-owned 2019 Giulia RWD Sedan at an affordable price.
Their online website was well designed, and everything seemed to fall right in its place. There were so many new and pre-owned cars under the in-stick section, which build my confidence. After making a choice, it was now time to take the next step. I called the customer care number posted on their website, but there was no one to answer. After calling a couple of times, a lady answered. The lady seemed confused about what she was saying, so I decided to talk to the manager. It was odd having a customer support agent who is not well informed about the products in stock, but that was less of a concern.
The customer support agent forwarded my call to the manager, and we got a chance to negotiate on the price. The manager kept asking when I was going to pay for the car instead of offering me the details I was looking for. To make it worse, we ended the call before booking me an appointment. I almost changed my mind about this particular car, but the car seems too good to give up on it. The next day I decided to visit the dealer. Their offices were located in a secluded location, and it took me hours to find them. Once I was at the premises, the receptionist directed me to the manager’s office. I was given a chance to view the only 2019 Giulia RWD Sedan that was in stock. The car was in perfect condition. I requested to have a mechanic inspect the engine before buying, but the manager convinced me they had inspected the car a couple of times. He even called one of the mechanics from the auto service section to confirm this. I was pleased with the car and paid for it on the spot using my visa card. Owning a car brought me peace of mind. However, after driving a few miles, the engine started overheating. After taking the car to a local mechanic, the engine was faulty and required fixing. The repair exercise was costly, and I regret having bought a car from Johnson Alfa Romeo of Cary.
