Judy Freed

I have more than 25 years of clinical experience, helping people grow, heal, and transform their lives. I have worked extensively with adults who have grown up in addictive/abusive/dysfunctional families, as well as adults who are experiencing here – and – now life challenges. I welcome clients who are struggling with issues of self-esteem, relationship difficulties, compulsions/addictions, disordered eating, depression, illness/pain, and anxiety. When someone is ready to embark on the journey of healing, I am honored and privileged to join in that journey with my skill, expertise, and compassionate presence.I am a psychodramatist and experiential therapist, in addition to being a licensed clinical social worker. I integrate a variety of experiential techniques with verbal therapy, to support the development of new insights, behaviors, perceptions, and beliefs. Sessions might include guided imagery, movement, writing, role-play, and playful self-expression.I have a mind/body/spirit approach, with an emphasis on mindfulness and body awareness. I specialize in working with compulsive/emotional eating and body image issues. I approach these issues from a holistic perspective, recognizing that there is no “one size fits all” method for recovery from disordered eating.
