On October 13, 2013 a young woman was standing on my property when I returned from a walk. She was selling magazines to help put herself through college. Because I’m a teacher, I decided to help. I purchased a subscription to Zoo Books for my wife’s kindergarten classroom at the outrageous price of $60. But I wanted to help this young woman, so I swallowed and wrote out the check. The young woman was soon picked up by someone in a large van. I became curious and did a quick internet search and saw scores of accounts of folks being scammed by KLMN magazine sales. I looked at the receipt and saw that I could “cancel this transaction without any penalty or obligation within three business days.” I immediately copied the receipt and filled out all the cancelation information. I took this to the post office and sent it overnight to KLMN. My check was cashed anyway. I have called and emailed and received no response, and now, November 13, 2014, over a year later, I have received neither reimbursement nor a magazine. Congratualtions KLMN, you scammed a teacher. This operation is criminal and should be shut down. .
