12/25/19 My husband went to sit down in his recliner and he felt something snap and break under the seat and it was 2 of the bars under the seat coils that had snapped into 2 pieces ! We would like this repaired if possible or the chair replaced as its only a year old today ! As it was his last years Christmas Gift ! And he sits in it none stop !

2 years ago we bought a recliner from a local furniture company and we chose Lane because of the manufacturer warranty. A few days/weeks after the 1 year warranty was up the recliner broke; pieces flew everywhere. Took it to the store and manager refused to replace but attempted to fix. recliner worked, but sat crooked and didn’t function properly. at year 2 it came apart again and will not recline. we keep our furniture covered so it still looks new. we feel the chair should be replaced. my husband is disabled and needs his recliner. I will probably never purchase another lane product again.

A recliner purchased on 12/06/2017 and delivered 12/15/2017, item used two weeks in december and then not again until may 5th (we were in florida all winter) on app. May 7th I pulled the chair away from the position it was in to plug something into an electrical outlet and saw that right in the center of the back of the chair what looked like a piece of a spring had poked out thru the fabric and was sticking out 3 inches. The chair was purchased at carson pirrie scott in lombard illinois. This store is out of business. Chair style [protected] Serial number 022699141 I have placed 5 calls to lane and left messages 4 times in the last 4 days all resulting in no response. I placed a call today and was answered with a voicemail by asusan peterson who said she will not be in her office for a week. All of this process is a pretty poor response to a customer inquiry or request. I would like to know what lane furniture will do to remedy my problem but would at least like the curtesy of some type of response from a human rather than unanswered voicemail requests. After a house fire, my husband and I had to replace some of our furniture. We decided to also buy a recliner for my husband. We bought a Lane because it was fluffy and softer than a Lazy Boy. From almost day one the chair has sat crooked. The reclining mechanism has had to be fixed twice and now it won’t even rock. It feels like there is something under the chair preventing it from moving. It also sits way back when you sit down in it. My husband, who is 6’2″ can’t even reach the floor because of it. It makes a banging sound and it’s just ridiculous. After contacting the furniture store about getting our money back, we were told that Lane doesn’t offer a money back guarantee. Imagine that! No wonder…their furniture is crappy and if they did offer the guarantee they would lose everything. Well, the battle continues and we are being persisitent about getting our money back…tune in next time!

Bought 2 new Lane recliners expecting quaulity and customer service. The whole left arm became detached and called them to have it fixed (under warranty) was told we would have to pay for labor. No problem. They brought it back a week later worse than ever. NO MORE LANE. Store blamed upholsterer he blamed store Lane will do nothing.

Bought a Lane leather reclining sofa (reclines on two ends but stationary in the middle) the end of 2015 from Design Center Furniture in Orange, California. Order number is 26441 dtd. 12/27/15. Rec’d delivery of the sofa 4/03/16. Started having problems with the left side reclining (noises). Contacted the store the end of May 2016 when we could not get the reclining portion to work properly. The footrest part is twisted now in closed position. After a few weeks, the store sent someone out who showed us Lane had shipped us a sofa with a defective power bar or some such device. It was warped or bent. The store ordered a new part from Lane, and weeks later when it came in, they sent a service company tech out to install it. The tech could not install the part because the store did not order the complete part and it would not fix the problem. The tech ordered a new part on 7/28/16. It’s now 8/18, and the part still has not come in from Lane. Lane should have expedited the part when they realized no one did a quality check on this sofa before shipping it. We just hope that the sofa isn’t permanently warped. (Tried to upload a photo of problem, but it didn’t work.) Lane Furniture’s HQ number is [protected]. Thank you.

bought from BJ’S material is cracking and coming off on both chairs they are hardly used these are extra chairs. Feel that the material used was defective and should replace . These chairs are over a year old but have only been sat in a dozen times like I said they are extra chairs not the ones we use at our computers as seen in pics. We bought them and they where to high for desk so we sat aside to use if we needed an extra chair like said before maybe got sat in a dozen times if that. They have cracks and now the top of leather on head rest I flaking off. We have bought lane furniture before and that these would be well made but seems we were mistaken in this case.

Bought two Lane Recliners from local store. Both recliners started making noise immediately when sitting in them. Store replaced one chair which still had the same defect. Paid $500.00 down when ordered chairs still owe $322.00 would not pay balance until chairs fixed. To this day chairs have not been taken care of and have got even worse in the noise they were making. Even contacted Lane Co. themselves with no response??? Have decided to keep chairs as is but will not pay balance owed until satisfied. Will not ever again buy Lane products of anything, period again!

But my couch in 2011 and it started peeling about 18 months later and now all of the bonded leather has peeled off onto the floor for the most part peels off and daily. I was never told by the place that I purchased it that it was bonded leather I was under the assumption that it was a leather couch and ottoman and now I am so embarrassed when people come over because my furniture looks like crap. I bought a warranty to cover the furniture that no one will meet so I’m stuck with $1, 100 worth of furniture that essentially looks like crap. I bought it from my local Badcock store. The thing that concerns me is that it’s under the name of United Furniture Industries and Simmons. Simmons is usually a good product which is the only reason that I bought the couch and ottoman. I will never ever buy anything from United Furniture or Simmons again.

First off, it’s no real leather as sold to us. Its leather look. Second, within two years it started showing wear and leaves pieces of the vinyl all over the floor and on anyone who sits on them. Purchased 09/04/2013. Here is what they look like now. There are two people in our household and we each have a recliner so these are rarely used guest seating

From day of delivery the love seat is sunken in in the middle. When you sit you tilt to the middle. The springs which go across from front to back under the seat cushion area are out causing the couch to sink in. The springs on one side of recliner collapsed so recliner tilts to one side. I’ve had the furniture less than 5 months and one issue was noticed from day of delivery.

Hello, I was in contact with you a few weeks ago and I was told to return to the store and speak with the manager. I purchased a sofa and love seat 9/06/2016. The two items are falling in at the cushions and the arms of both items are exploding with popcorn like substance inside of it, and the seams in some cushions are giving way. I do not have your answer to my last email and the manager would like to see it. Please answer me, as I need to forward it to the manager. Thank you, Bridget L. Connolly [protected]

Hello, We purchased furniture in Jan 2013. We did not get this furniture until June 2013 due to some problem at the factory -wish we would never have gotten it. After just 4 years, the fabric 5116-13 is coming off the furniture. The place we bought it from – Floor Show & Outlet in Dubuque, IA after talking with them the past 5 months decided there is nothing they can do to help and we should take it up with the manufacturer.

Hi My Name is Juvy Villamar and I’m writing because we bought are furniture at sears last April 29, 2017. Sears told us that they can’t do anything since the manufacturer warranty is over. So I just want to show it to you that our couch is barely use it and now it’s starting to peeling off and it’s really ugly and we are so dissappointed because we paid $1600 and it’s only last for 2 years I know some people can easily buy a new one but the purpose of buying an expensive one is to last at least 5 to 7 years not 2 years. I hope you can able to do something with our couch. You can reach me at [protected]@ yahoo.com

I always thought “Simmons” name represented a quality product, I was wrong. Now I find out Simmons is really “United Furniture Industries.” I”m so disappointed with my purchase of a “Simmons” leather “Manhattan” recliner. I bought this almost 3 years ago but about 6 months ago the leather started peeling off. From what I read online, this is a major defect in their product and should be recalled or the customers should receive compensation.

I bought a couch in Marion VA at Aaron”s and I have had to call Aaron”s 2times to come back and fix it. The spring on the bottom keeps popping out. And the cushions are worn out. I haven”t had it a year yet. So Aaron”s said that I had to call the manufacturing company. This is not good quality whatsoever. I paid good money for this and now I wish I didn”t. I”m very unhappy with this couch. [protected] home #. Penny Baldwin or Mike Baldwin

I bought a really nice Lane recliner chair and ottoman for around $800 some 7 years ago. I thought I got a really sweet deal as others of this style were almost twice as much. To be honest, I’ve loved this chair.. nice and comfy and very stylish. However, last night when sitting down I heard a weird sound and while attempting to lean back to investigate under me, the thing went all the way back down to the floor with me in it. I thought maybe something like a spring had broken causing the issue, but what I found was that the entire metal attachment to the chair had simply torn off from my use!!! Right in the middle of where the piston attaches to the chair. Imagine a square of metal with a rip in the middle. I don’t weigh that much and other than sit in it, haven’t done anything wacky in it. In fact I don’t really recline in it.. by that I mean it has always been at such and such an angle and rarely changed it. For the amount of money spent, I am horribly disappointed in this product. The metal that tore as well as how it tore, shows me that it is cheap metal as well as construction and was destined to break. I am so thankful I didn’t have anything close behind me as it would have taken that out as well.

I bought a Simmons couch less than two years ago and the material is peeling off. It supposed to be leather according to the brochure, but its not!! Its more like pleather than has hardly ever been sat on. According to the brochure if their is any excessive soiling, improper cleaning, ect will void the warrenty. None of the above has been done to this chair and i deserve a full refund because this is false adsvertisment.

I bought a Simmons motion loveseat and couch on March 27, 2010. I retired on November 30, 2014. From the time I bought the furniture until I retired, the furniture was rarely used. I am single, live in a small apartment, and seldom have guests. I spent the winter of 2015 in Arizona so the furniture was not used at that time. Additionally, I was in a wheelchair for eight weeks in 2011 so the furniture was not used at that time. The furniture has been peeling and cracking. I called the store and they said there was nothing I could do. I have been searching and searching for help with this issue. What can I do to resolve this issue? Are there any class action suits I can become part of? Please advise.

I bought these pieces along with two wood & stone end tables, coffee table, and two mirrors. The tables and mirrors are doing well and look great. The electric servos for the reclining sectional are doing will. The framework and structure of all pieces save the left hand recliner all doing well. The left hand recliner has always been “rocky” as if something is broken structurally. The problem is that the sitting furniture was sold to me as “Leather”. It”s not … it”s bonded or bi-cast leather. For Lane, or any furniture company for that matter, to sell bonded or bi-cast upholstery as “leather” is nothing more than careless, disrespectful of their customers, and downright deceitful. How can Lane sell their upholstered furniture as “leather” for thousands of dollars with a 1 year warranty knowing full well that in 2 to 4 years it will begin disintegrating to the extent that it will require reupholstering or replacing. Does Lane not understand that anyone who makes such a purchase will never return as a customer!? Are Lane sales so good that the power of social media to share experiences of Lane”s incredibly poor quality will have no adverse effect on sales!? Lane used to be a mark of superior quality but this is no more. I think there should be a deserving name change for this furniture company from “Lane Furniture” to “Lame Furniture”. I”m so disappointed in my Lane furniture purchase and as with most, if not all, other customers with similar complaints, I”ll never purchase another Lane product unless my problem with the furniture I bought is remedied.

I filed a complaint with Marie Richardson on 2/23/15 and they have denied helping me because I have owned the Double Reclining Sofa for over four years. As you can see by the photos, the cheap polyester fabric, which is paper thin, is tearing away from the pad sheet by sheet. It is also cracking all over the sofa. It is myself and my boyfriend who use the sofa and we don”t have any pets. I asked them to pay to recover at the least and they will not. I believe an $1079 sofa should last longer than four years and Lane should stand behind their product and by the number of complaints on this site, it is obvious they don”t. I have more photos, however, they are too large to send. Thank you. Melody M.

I got an “ashley” sofa and loveseat at big lots 3 years ago which i thought was actually made by “ashley” but if you read the fine print (Which i discovered today) it is actually made under license *from* ashley and is made *by* united furniture industries. This was the biggest piece of crap living room suit that i”ve ever seen. After 1 year of use the microfiber was looking worn. Plus the springs on the couch let loose on 1 end after i got on my knees to look out the window. Not too soon after the spring incident, my 9 year old daughter climbed up onto the love seat to open the mini blinds and we heard a cracking noise. Sure enough, the spring had let loose on the love seat as well !!! Not to mention that in the store the couch was all nice and fluffy feeling but the materials did not hold their “fluff” and the arms on the couch quickly went flat. I paid 600. 00 for the set on sale. The way i found out about the “made under license” deal was that i saw a simmons sofa and loveseat set at big lots today and decided to do my “homework”. I researched the net and found the disclaimer on big lots website “fabric by simmons. Made under license from simmons by united furniture industries”. This furniture is c – r – a – p and furthermore, i will never ever buy furniture of any kind at big lots again. It may seem like a good deal but when you figure in that it”s only gonna last 1 year, the deal isn”t so great !!! My parents bought a lazy boy set 5 years ago and it still looks and functions just as good as the day they brought it home. They paid 2000. 00 for 2 recliners and a sofa that reclines but it has lasted !

I guess I will join the many other customers that purchase a Lane product expecting to have it for years. Obviously this is not the case. The so called “leather” material is not really leather, but is peeling and cracking all over the seat and leg portions of the recliner. I have had these two recliners for 4 years, but they have had minimal use being located in our media room. Now I am somewhat embarrassed to have them in the room. However, instead of spending another $1000 to replace them, I will keep them where they are an explain to EVERYONE that this is typical Lane furniture and do not purchase their products lest you end up with the same problems. Lane, this will be the last product unless I hear from you on how to replace them. I have lots of pictures, but you get the point. Avoid any product that says it contains leather (or anything else for that matter).

I inherited a 1931 lane cedar chest a few months ago. As it needed some reconditioning, I started searching for parts. I needed: a lock mechanism, some trim weather stripping and hinges. After scouring the net, a furniture restorer told me to contact Lane directly. BIG MISTAKE. The customer service people were surly and acted as if I was wasting their time. I finally got the hinges and trim ordered and had to pay for that. The lock mechanism was free as the old style had caused injuries in the past. 2 weeks late a box easily 2 ft by 4ft by 1 ft arrives. The box was 95% packing material and everything was in their except the lock. NONE of the parts matched the original stuff, even after having the rude customer service person assured me it would match. I asked several times. Another package arrived FIVE weeks after I called. There was no lock in it, only a new latch. I called and explained how I have had this thing torn apart and waiting on parts LANE promised would arrive for over 5 weeks. And they didnt even send me thee right parts. Her response was a sarcastic “and…?” as if she was saying “so what do you want from ME?” I have Lane tables and chairs, lane recliners and lane end tables. I will NEVER purchase another Lane product ever and I am urging all people I know to do the same. These lazy rude people just lost TONS of money all because of a rude and incompetent customer service department.

I love the couch I purchased from Big lots. The leather is holding up well and I love how much cushion it has. However, the seat portion is sliding back and it is as if you are sitting on a wood plank. Also, one end of the couch has completely broken, when we tried to repair it, we see that the entire couch is built with 1×2 boards…no support at all. It is near beyond repair. We have done what we could to make it usable but hope that there is some sort of warranty on it I would love a refund. I am not sure that a replacement would save me any heartache. (I paid 299.00)

I purchased 2 Benson Faux Leather loveseats, from Sofas and Sectionals, in 2013. After 2 years, the fabric started to blister on the back cushions, then completely peel away. This was supposed to be sturdy, pet friendly furniture. There is nothing sturdy about this. The leather-like fabric is paper thin, and appears to have been sprayed on a backing. I am extremely disappointed, considering I paid roughly $1300 for both pieces. According to Lane, the warranty for the fabric is only 1 year, so they won’t do anything. Even when it is clear that this product is defective. Lane used to have quality furniture. These pieces of junk I have is a testament to a company in decline. I am sure that Lane will not help me with this issue, as they already stated. However, this will not stop me from complaining and informing others how substandard their furniture really is. I will never purchase any furniture from Lane ever again.

I purchased a Lane Action Sofa 07-22-2008. The springs and cushions are already failing. This is an expensive sofa and I would think their furniture should last longer than 1 1/2 years. I will never buy Lane again. I am very disappointed in the quality of their furniture. Especially at the price they charge. I will for sure go back to buying Ashley when our family room is finished and I get my new set. Can’t believe this poor quality is made in the U.S.!! Would think the quality would be better when made in the united States!

I purchased a Lane double recliner sofa. After 5 wks, the arm cushion came loose from the wood frame. The poly filled cushions have flattened & the material has stretched. Per customer service “the warranty is for labor & cover to repair only” for 1 year from date of purchase. Customer Service suggested I use the palm of my hand to try to move the poly around in the cushion! I now own a 6 wk old piece of furniture that looks like a 25 yr old piece of furniture. And Lane is supposed to be so good. I will scream it to the world that Lane furniture is junk.

I purchased a Lane dual reclining leather love seat a few years ago and it has started peeling. I thought I had purchased a leather coach from a reputable manufacturer and was quite shock when this started happening. I also own 2 leather couches, that I had made from Leather Creations in Atlanta Ga, and I have had them for 15 years and they look brand new compared to the Lane loveseat I have. I definitely expected better quality from a company like Lane.

I purchased a large recliner 3 yrs ago, which is a piece of crap. It is literally falling to pieces. I have to place a piece of lumber under it to keep it from falling over to one side. Large pieces of wood from the underbelly frame are falling off, cracking wood and exposed nails. This furniture, which I paid lots of money for, is crap, garbage. I want it replaced. Your company is a disgrace to the public!! Either replace it or give me a refund. Furniture should last a lot longer than 3 yrs.

I purchased a leather recliner from Frontroom Furnishings in Columbus, Ohio after my old chair started to wear out. The old one was a cheapo, lasted me a good 5 years before the cushions literally wore out from under me. So, I figured I’d go all out and buy myself something better for Christmas. I have owned the thing for two/three months and the leather is peeling all over the place. It is not big peels, but little stuff. The guy from the store said “oh its from your shoes wearing it off.” To which I replied that I don’t wear shoes in my chair, and how does that explain how nearly every seam on both the ottoman and the chair is starting to peel. This is inexcusable, cheap, shoddy manufacturing. They said they are going to “repair” it. I’ll love to see how they do some makeshift fix while they are in my home. I plan to raise some *** if this is not exactly as it should be. Dishing out 800+ for a leather chair means that it better last me a while. My 12 year old leather sofa has taken the beating of a dog and 3 kids and it has NEVER peeled. Lane Furniture is shoddy and overpriced. I will not be satisfied until the problem is resolved, which is likely an entire replacement. If Lane refuses to do that, both the store I bought from and the company shall never see my business again.

I purchased a sofa sectional at Big Lots and one week after owning it one half of the sofa is peeling. There is no vinyl left on three of the cushions. The other side, recliner and ottoman are fine. This is ridiculous. I waited 15 years for new furniture and now I have to keep it covered up with beets and couch covers. We don’t have mo eye to throw away. This company should be ashamed. I will be seeking legal action if my complaint is not handled in a satisfactory manner.

I purchased the above from American Freight furniture in Erie PA in May of 2015. When I had it for 1 month it looked worse than the one it replaced. As soon as you sit on it all the poof goes out of the cushions leaving it to look old and shabby. I call AF in june to express my concerns. They promised to send someone out with replacement cushions as soon as they came in. I called again two weeks ago and was told they still didn”t come in. These cushions are attached to the couch so there is no way I can do anything. I would either like this resolved or you can come and get the set and give me my hard earned money back!

I recently purchased two Lane recliners. Fabric is polyester/cotton/polypropylene. I have a severe respiratory allergic reaction after sitting on either recliner for over 15″. I called Lane Furniture Consumer Services in Tupelo, MS. They say it’s not their problem. I asked for some idea in regard to any treatment (stain guard, fire ###ant, etc) that might be in the fabric so I can discuss with my doctor. They claimed that the fabric is completely untreated. “Tough Luck” is their attitude.

I special ordered a couch from Lane specifically because I wanted red leather. The cushions are now cracked on inside. I know this is from being made of bonded leather. I purchased from you because I thought it would be good quality and would last. This is not the stores fault. It is shoddy manufacturing. I feel I should have my cushions made good because I was told the couch was leather. I even had more support put in at an extra cost. Please resolve this or I may have to contact someone else to look into it.

I spent around $1400 for 2 matching Lane “Leather” recliners at Hurwitz Mintz in New Orleans. My brother and I are big guys and in case it wasn’t obvious enough, I made it clear to the sales person that we needed strong furniture, made for big men. She directed us to the Lane recliner, that was also a rocker and swivel chair. About 4 months later, I had to call for repairs as the seat support and lever mechanism was failing on both. To their credit, Hurwitz sent out a repairman to fix the chairs. Only problem? It happened again, and again, and again. Until finally, the store’s warranty ran out after a year. They made one last repair on the last week of the warranty and advise us that the chairs were no longer covered. One month later … my bother’s chair fails again;mine is sagging badly. And a couple of months later — boom. The seat cracks and falls in. Bottom line is that I have no confidence in Lane furniture and I’ll never waste another dollar on anything they make.

I took delivery of a new reclining sofa and loveseat on 11 May 2018. I contacted the retailer the next business day and the manager came out and inspected the pieces for the following issues: 1. Staples under the fabric on the foot rests not completely driven, sticking into ankles and heels when reclined or closing recliner. 2. Three of four edge seams not stitched on back panels. 3. Sharp staple points sticking out of side of back panel, potential injury hazard. 4. Right lower return of sofa center section has fabric cut short exposing the padding and waferboard frame. Also, the fabric is under strain where it is stapled to the frame. 5. Brown sofa and loveseat with blue-head upholstery nails on the back. The room arrangement has both pieces away from the wall, so the back panels and upholstery nails are clearly visible. The Lane area rep told the manager that they would only offer a $200 refund of the purchase price. While this is better than nothing, it is far from adequate considering the price for the new pieces and just how long I am stuck with poor craftmanship. Lane needs to stop touting their quality in their advertisements if the company will not deliver on their promise.
