I had to get braces after my twenties and they were to be removed last week. My usual ortho was not available because he was very sick and was not able to get out of the bed, so I was forced to look for a new one. I found out Laredo Orthodontics from Google Maps, where they have 250+ freaking 5-star reviews, which I haven’t seen anywhere else, I was quite impressed by their rating. All the reviews on their Google Maps listing were positive and they convinced me to go there. I was a little nervous because one of my friends told me that this place wasn’t very great and I shouldn’t go there, however, seeing the ratings, I was blinded. I went to Laredo Orthodontics after getting an appointment on the phone. The doctor was very grumpy but I didn’t say anything because I was excited about finally getting my braces removed. He simply came to the chair and took off the wires off of my teeth. However, the braces were still attached to my teeth with some weird type of glue and instead of removing the glue himself, the doctor decided to call his assistant to do that instead. The assistant was very young and didn’t seem to have much experience. He gave her the pliers and told her to remove the braces. You know what she did? SHE TWISTED THE BRACES INSTEAD OF PULLING THEM! And whenever she did the twisting motion the braces would snap off. I have never had such a horrendous experience at a dentist before. But this time, I had to grip the hell out of the armrests of my chair. As she removed the braces one by one by twisting them, I felt a stinging pain in my whole head. I felt like my head would explode. I was shedding tears like a freaking baby. The pain became totally unbearable when she twisted my eye teeth, which is the most sensitive teeth of mine. The pain was so extreme that I gasped and wounded up my fists instinctively. The assistant literally panicked and walked away while dropping the pliers. Seeing his assistant panic, He got scared and he came to me and said,” What happened, why are you crying?” The look on his face was totally plastic and I could see that he was irritated. I told him that I was feeling pain from the twisting pliers and he rudely replied by saying,” Then why didn’t you tell me, I would have done it myself” after which he gave me a disappointed look as if it was MY fault.
That was the MOST PAINFUL experience I have ever had and I would not advise anyone to go to Laredo Orthodontics. I left their clinic as soon as they removed the gluey stuff and went to another one. They are the worst!
