I have been a psychiatrist for over 20 years and throughout that time have always placed an emphasis on true healthCARE My practice is based on forming a therapeutic alliance that works towards recovery using a “team” approach My patients are the focus of our sessions rather than the restrictions placed on a practice by insurance companies It is for this reason that I do not participate with insurance panels However, my staff is adept at walking patients through the process of filing for out of network reimbursement from insurance companiesI have previously practiced in the academic setting as an Assistant Professor of Psychiatry at The University of South Florida and as an attending physician at the affiliated VA While there I helped to train many of the psychiatrists currently practicing in the area Returning to private practice, I hope to share the breadth of my experience with patientsI encourage my patients to address mental health issues just as they would any other medical issues: proactively, promptly, and aggressively As I am just returning to the private sector, I have the availability to help my patients in this endeavor
