**BE VERY CAREFUL WHEN CONTRACTING WITH THIS COMPANY** PREPAID for annual services and called late September to request timeframe for Fall 2018 treatment. When I called to request status from the local Bethlehem/Hellertown PA contractor I did not receive a response to my calls and emails. I sent a certified/return receipt letter via the USPS and the letter was not signed for. This company obviously is familiar with the process to avoid confirmation of receipt. I called the NJ Headquarters; they researched and communicated that I was turned over to collections for lack of payment and told me that they could not provide additional information and the Bethlehem/Hellertown contractor could not discuss with me as this account was turned over to collections. This is the first time in my life that I am being turned over to collections when an account is paid-in-full.

Lawn Doctor Reviews & Complaints
7/10 – fourth lawn treatment done 7/13 – I noticed grass was starting to turn brown 7/17 – I had two irrigation companies here to get estimates on upgrading sprinkler system. Both commented on grass being burned. 7/18 – called Lawn Doctor. Said grass was brown. Lawn Doctor said they had no idea what was wrong. Suggested soil sample 8/2 – haven”t heard anything from Lawn Doctor for 10 days. No soil sample. Nothing. 8/3 – I called again. I said I was very upset about grass to office person. Was going online to BBB to complain. Technician immediately called me back. Admitted maybe too much nitrogen was put on weak grass. Would like opportunity to correct the problem. I agreed to corrective action & cancelled soil sample. 8/6 – 8/10 – heard nothing from Lawn Doctor. 8/13 – I called asking when corrective action would start. Technician stated he would be here this week to put compost down. Had accident with truck on 8/10. Had to get fixed. 8/17 – I called. Truck not fixed. Will be here next week. 8/20 – 8/24 – heard nothing from Lawn Doctor. 8/25 – I called. Stated needed corrective action by 8/29 or I was filing complaint. Office person returned my call & said they were refunding my last payment and closing my account for threatening them. Their situation with the damaged truck was beyond their control. Lawn Doctor had ample time to repair my lawn after I initially reported the problem on 7/18. I”ve been a customer for 5 years.
Lawn Doctor Reviews & Complaints
A Lawn Doctor technician applied a highly odoriferous herbicide on neighbors lawn within 4 – 5 feet of three young children playing in complainants yard. He took no action to caution or request children to move. Complainant approached technician when leaving the the job site in his van to lodge concern. Lawn Doctor technician speed off at an unsafe speed when asked for his name. Identified him and phoned his supervisor who was courteous, but defensive of company practices and particular technician.
Lawn Doctor Reviews & Complaints
After several years of using Lawn Doctors services and paying the monthly fees, we started to see a decline in the effectiveness of their services. After complaining to them the owner came and looked at our lawn and said that he would fix it and give it a new treatment. Nothing changed and my lawn looks worse than it ever has. We called to cancel their services and the woman answering the phone just said O.K. and hung up. I just go a bill for the month that was canceled. For all of the money paid I ave a lawn that is covered with crab grass, other weeds, dandelions and clover. The local franchise has done nothing to try to make me a satisfied customer. I recommend to all to stay away from this most unprofessional company.

Be very careful with this company. They skipped the granular fertilization part of an application, but charged me full price. When confronted, they refused to to make the necessary application or to refund my money.Be there in person to watch every application to be sure they do what they are charging you for…otherwise you may be short changed. Word to the wise.
Lawn Doctor Reviews & Complaints
Bob and Kristen have zero experience in fertilizing lawns.in fact, they are not even licensed to do lawn applications. I don’t think they could even pass the test… Another small business that doesn’t care about anything but money… There were many red flags after being hired on. They actually hired me on for more money than their “stupervisor” and made me promise not to tell anyone. That kid must be mad. They had 4 employees this year before me, none licensed. They even made me do applications I am not licensed for. Its funny. They hire 10$ 18 year olds to do a job that pays 20$ an hour. They actually make us do 30 lawns a day. There is no way you can do 30 lawns a day and do a good job. Especially unlicensed. My work load was so much that I had to pee in a bottle. Even though state and federal regulations require soap and water before using restroom or eating. They don’t care. They want to pay 100$ a day for 1700$ of work… So I am en ex employee, who was fired, for leaving windows down in truck while spraying 1 of 30 lawns daily. And for not spraying crabgrass. Its funny though. They never sprayed crabgrass at all until September. They will never treat the crabgrass or wild violet. Our work loads are too much. 1 hour a day travel and loading truck leave 7 hours a day work.in that 7 hours Kristen wants you to do 30 lawns and generate 1, 700$. 7 hours time 60 minutes is 420 minutes. 420/30 is 14 minutes. With an average of 5 minutes drive time Kristen wants 4 lawns and 250$ an hour, but only hires teenagers for 10 dollars an hour to keep 240$ an hour. Remember people. No one can do a good job on your lawn in nine minutes. Why pay top dollar for cowboys to rush through your lawn… My work load was so high I had to pee in a bottle everyday… Then they have the nerve to fire me. Nobody can fertilize and spray 30 lawns a day and do a good job. It is literally impossible. Use any company and you will have better results, and cheaper, they might even have time to spray your law… Hersch’s, truegreen, even lush lawn. At least lush lawn doesn’t charge 250$ an hour to drop off a ten dollar an hour unlicensed worker. I really don’t understand how they get away with this. I will be contacting mrad Monday and tell them what is going on… I even got assaulted while spraying a lawn. I guess that’s ok with them, making 250$ an hour while their employees are attacked… Bob wont even touch a bag of fertilizer without whining. So how the hell is he gonna treat 600 customers unlicensed. People like this are horrible people that do not deserve a dime… 8500$ a week generated, I made 400$ last week. I’ll be calling this week about their lack of licenses and making me do work I wasn’t licensed for. They fired me with 2 weeks left in season to get out of paying me my end of year bonus. They aren’t gong to hire anyone to replace me. They are going to send David to 30+ lawns a day, without spraying or blowing off a single property… Any company will do better because the techs are only required to generate [protected]$ a day… Lawn doctor wants 1, 700$ a day and pays the least of any company, using unlicensed downriver teen agers and charging a premium.
Lawn Doctor Reviews & Complaints
Destroyed new lawn. 8500 square feet of new sod. I hired lawn doctor to totaly take care of my new lawn. The reason that i hired lawn doctor was that i am a colorado native and wanted to hire a company that has been in business here in colorado since 1972. I thought that i had made the right choice but as it turned out it was the absolute worse choice that i could have made. After several treatments to my new lawn i started noticing dead spots in the lawn. I called on two different occasions to report that there was a problem. Both calls were totaly ignored. My calls were never returned. Lawn doctor came out to apply another treatment on the lawn and refused to put any more chemicals on the lawn because of its condition. Lawn doctors finally sent someone out to see what the problem was. The supervisor that came out admitted to lawn doctors dropping the ball on the misdiagnosed treatment of my new lawn and so their mistake killed my new lawn. I thought that since this was their mistake they would replace my new lawn. Wrong!! I was told by justin, the general manager, that after i replaced my own lawn that lawn doctors would give me one free treatment on my second new lawn but would not replace any of my new lawn that they killed. I told justin that i was very disappointed in lawn doctor. Justin did refund the balance of the money prepaid to them not the full amount only the unused portion so therefore i paid lawn doctor to destroy my new lawn. Do not use lawn doctor. They very politely will tell you your screwed. This is a legitimate complaint not just an old ugly guy complaining. Do not trust lawn doctor if something goes wrong with your lawn it”s your fault even though they are the ones that was hired to take care of it. They assumed no liability for their admitted mistake. I am very sorry to have made this complaint public, justin, but you should have made lawn doctor do the right thing and replace my lawn and you know it.
Lawn Doctor Reviews & Complaints
First they show up without notice and leave a bill for treatment service. The only problem they never treated my rear yard because my access gate was locked. A day goes by no phone calll or inquiry made on their part to complete work but of course the bill is for full amount. After calling, they scheduled me next day service to complete the rear yard #treatment that was missed. I also authorized them to do full yard fungal treatment. The next day they showed up, left bills for said completed work. However, after viewing my video surveillance cameras I saw otherwise. 738am he arrives at my house, 743am he exits his vehicles to leave a flag and put a $134.35 bill in my door for fungas control. 747am he enters my rear yard, 750am exits my rear yard, 751am drives away. Hence, no fungus control was ever done on my front, sides or rear yard only #3. After calling to inquire, I was assured they completed treatment #3 and then went over the entire lawn as requested for fungus control. It was then that I broke the news about about having video surveillance cameras that showed otherwise. To this day, I still have not heard back from the “manager” after being assured he will be calling me back within an hour from my second call back. The “corporate complaint office” is actually just as worse, the “unknown female” that states she is the only person that handles complaints doesn”t know the first thing about business models, customer service or running a company. She was so ignorant and arrogant in her thinking that it was worse than being scammed into getting a service that was not provided. Get this, she only asked if I wanted her to call the local office and was not concerned about my incident, telling me, “It”s not worth it.” Meaning the disappointment and frustration of dealing with a fraud incident. She doesn”t think that the service tech wearing a lawn doctor uniform and driving a lawn doctor vehicle reflects upon “Lawn Doctor” get this because they are franchised. She still disagreed even after I politely gave an example in a fruitless attempt to try and walk her through customer service 101. The example was if a fraud or some egregious act occurred at a specific Chick-Fil-A, that caused concern or had the potential to significantly disrupt future customers, one could be assured that corporate would step in and do something. Her response, I never been in Chick-Fil-A. Lawn Doctor- You should send her to Chick-Fil-A so she can obviously learn what customer service is. In summary, to this date, no phone call back from local office. The corporate “complaint” individual is actually worse than the fraud. This is my story, roll the dice if you like but I have video of the billing and stating they did a service which clearly they did not. How many other victims are out there, that don”t have video surveillance cameras and are being “billed” for services that are not even being done.

Homeowner has no control with services. They Dump chemicals without authorization and than send you a bill. Use to have call ahead with authorization to plan as have small children and animals, along with weather conditions, etc. They do not follow that and just come. They add all these services and expect payment for them whether you want it or not. Not all treatments are beneficial and should work better with the homeowner. People are pushy and nasty! Sketchy and not satisfied!
Lawn Doctor Reviews & Complaints
I called both Trugreen and Lawn Doctor asking for quotes for them to service my lawn. Naturally, I went with the cheaper option. I paid Trugreen in full on July 14th. On July 13th, I did confirm with Lawn Doctor for service. However, after finding that Trugreen was cheaper, I went ahead and paid them in full. Lawn Doctor called within the next few days to set up a date to service my lawn which is when I specifically explained to them the situation: I have proceeded with Trugreen and will not be continuing with services with Lawn Doctor. Nearly 3 weeks later, on July 31st, they came and serviced my lawn, leaving me with the bill. They have no record of the call when I cancelled services with them. They used that as an excuse to say that I must pay this bill. Instead of giving me a full refund, the person I spoke with said she was doing me a favor by only charging me 50%. This is ridiculous, I should not have been charged anything but instead received a bill for service I did not want just because they have no record of me speaking with someone at Lawn Doctor to cancel the services. It became my word against theirs and Lawn Doctor doesn”t trust the consumer apparently.

I called lawn doctor for grass maintenance and weed control. But you provide the 4 service in may, june, july, august but still weeds are still present in my grass and there is no improvement. I would complain about it 2 times still i didn”t get any response from you guys. Now my grass are turning brown. And my grass doesn”t look nice. You guys-lawn doctor didn”t give proper service to my grass.i never recommend any one for you. And i m not satisfied wiith your service.
Lawn Doctor Reviews & Complaints
I chose Lawn Doctor this year to service two connected yards that I own. I was very specific when I signed up that I wanted advance notice before they came so that I could make sure that my outdoor pets were in the house when they came. On the first trip, no advance notice was given and they only did one yard. I got home to find my cat sitting next to the Danger flag on my front yard. I called to complain and ask about when they would service the second yard and the owner of the franchise promised that they would be back out the following Monday. Monday came and went with no service. I left a voicemail to follow up and heard nothing back for two weeks. Called today and was told that they had come out after my last call, although not on the Monday as had been promised – again without letting me know and without leaving a flag or anything to indicate that they had serviced the yard. The customer service rep scolded me for being uphappy with their lask of customer responsiveness – telling me that she got over 200 calls a week and couldn”t be expected to call me back. I canceled the service for the rest of the summer. Why would anyone do business with that company?
Lawn Doctor Reviews & Complaints
I contacted this company numerous times to tell them about my dissatisfaction with their service. They are so careless that one of their employees actually broke down about a dozen of newly planted shrubs, even though we were there right next to him telling him to be careful. Yes they gave me a $50 credit FOR THAT, but when I last called to ask them to cancel my service and adjust my outstanding bill since my lawn was nothing better than a disaster, the lady threatened me, told me she did not care, and hung up on me. So I emailed them reiterating the same situation, and asking them for an adjusted bill so I could pay my dues and finalize all ties with this company, and in return I received a harassing, threatening, and intimidating email from the PRESIDENT/CEO of the franchise – Ted Kramer. It is appalling that there are still people who use threatening techniques to justify their short comings.NOT ONCE did I say that I did not want to pay my dues, I just asked for what I believe was right and just. I have also opened a complaint with BBB and a couple of other places against this franchise and Mr Kramer. PLEASE BE AWARE, be very careful what business you do with this particular franchise, because they are ruthless!

I got them this year for weed control but it was just the opposite. I got more weeds this year then the previous 15 years I lived at my home. The 3 rd treatment ended up killing my lawn and i needed to resod a good portion of my back yard. I cancelled them and they continued to service my lawn and charge me for it. I”m very disappointed in the service and their response to my dilemma.
Lawn Doctor Reviews & Complaints
I have a complaint about lawn doctor. I have had their service for several years. After the last service I have been inundated with crab grass. I called to see if they would stand behind their 100% guarantee. They would not remedy the situation. I would like them to come and view the yard to see what I am talking about. When I spoke to the supervisor she gave the wrong information as to when I had the service and wrong information about weeds. I would like lawn doctor to fix the situation.

I have never been in a position to write such a review, until I unfortunately dealt with Chris Williams, owner of Lawn Doctor in Spokane, WA. As a customer of 3 years, they have provided satisfactory service; until they damaged my property and then they suddenly can’t be reached. I was just days away from having a new, walkway project completed when Lawn Doctor came by to do a fertilizer application with both spray and granules. The new steps on this expensive project were made of an extremely porous concrete mixture. The next morning after the application, my beautiful steps had unsightly black stains. I immediately called Lawn Doctor and sent photos to Chris Williams. He responded quickly by sending someone out to clean off the stains. The solution that was applied had no effect on the stains, so I called again, left a message, and sent new updated pictures. I even used a power-washer the next day in an attempt to remove the stains, which also didn’t work. From that point on, I did not receive any communications from anyone at Lawn Doctor after making numerous calls and emails. At the end of the second week, I finally received a short email response where Chris said he was looking into it the end of the second week, I finally received a short email response where Chris said he was looking into it and should have some answers later that day. That was the last time I have heard anything from him and now it has been more than a month. The stains are still obvious which prevents me from finishing the walkway project without sealing in their stains. I am disgusted by any business, much less the owner who damages a customer’s property and walks away without a word or acknowledgement.
Lawn Doctor Reviews & Complaints
I made the mistake of hiring Lawn Doctor to treat my lawn. After Lawn Doctor got my money, the company stopped treating my lawn. I would advise people to avoid hiring Lawn Doctor and not waste their money. In February 2007 I hired Lawn Doctor (in Montgomery, Alabama) to treat my lawn. I paid in advance with my credit card for the entire year. Lawn Doctor agreed to come every two months to treat my lawn–and more often if necessary–such as if the weeds didn’t die or diminish. After Lawn Doctor received my payment, they stopped treating my lawn. The company missed both the April and June treatments. When I called in August to say that my lawn had not been treated in 6 months and that the company had broken its agreement, Lawn Doctor started treating my lawn again but declined to refund the money for the April and June treatments they missed. Meanwhile, the weeds on my lawn have greatly increased and have taken over my lawn, and Lawn Doctor seems unwilling to make an effort to reduce the weeds on my property. My lawn is an embarrassment because of Lawn Doctor. I paid in advance this year (2008), paying $648 to Lawn Doctor. I have the credit card receipt. I agreed to try Lawn Doctor for another year because when I called the company, the person I spoke to promised and guaranteed that he would make sure that the amount of weeds would be greatly reduced this year and they would make up for the previous year, and that he would make sure that the Dallis grass weeds would be spot sprayed. Lawn Doctor failed to keep its promise. He said that Lawn Doctor would return again and again (in addition to the treatments every other month). That never happened. He said that Dallis grass had to be sprayed and then resprayed two weeks later, but Lawn Doctor didn’t come back and spray the weeds in the way he had promised. Although I was promised that Lawn Doctor would keep treating the weeds until the weeds were gone, the company failed to keep its promise, and it seems to have stopped treating my lawn. The weeds on my lawn are completely out of control and have taken over the lawn, and Lawn Doctor has made little or no effort to fix the situation. Although I paid for the entire lawn to be treated, the person who comes from Lawn Doctor did not treat the whole lawn; when I watched him, I noticed that he only treated part of it. Lawn Doctor has also not honored their satisfaction guarantee. After watching my lawn get worse and worse–and the indifference from Lawn Doctor–I canceled my service in June by mailing a letter to Lawn Doctor, asking for a refund for the second half of 2008 (for which I prepaid). Lawn Doctor never responded. I called, but again Lawn Doctor never responded. I wrote to the corporate office, but I still didn’t receive a refund. I want a refund for the two missed treatments (April and June 2007) and a refund for the second half of this year–July-December 2008, a total of $540. I am not asking for a refund for work that Lawn Doctor has done (even though it has been poor and ineffective), only for the work that Lawn Doctor never did. Lawn Doctor is one of the biggest lawn treatment companies in the country, so it’s a shame when its work and its customer service are so disappointing. I have been very disappointed in Lawn Doctor.
Lawn Doctor Reviews & Complaints
I paid the Lawn Doctor franchise office that was servicing my area in advance for an annual service. They only did part of the promised treatments. Then they promised that they would make up in the following year for the missed treatments. Again, I foolishly paid in advance. The local office lost its franchise after doing only 2 treatment and would not return my calls. The Lawn Doctor headquarters said they were not responsible and that the dispute was between me and the people who operated their former franchise office. So much for the integrity of Lawn Doctor.

I used the lawn doctor based on their guarantee service, but when I called to complain they gave every excuse as to why it may not have worked. They then refused to provide the guarantee to refund or come back. I called the corporate office and they offered no help because each location is individually owned. Will never use them again.
