Often, individuals are reluctant to seek help with their Mental Health or Substance Abuse needs. They may feel that symptoms of sadness, depression, or anxiety are emotional states they need to hide from others. Individuals challenged by stress may experience physiological and psychological changes. Major life changes may become challenging events. One’s healthy functioning may become impaired by issues that are the closest to them. Some individuals, due to overwhelming stress, turn to substance abuse to distract them from their inability to cope. Therapy may be one vehicle to clarify one’s situation and learn new ways to problem solve and regain a balanced lifestyle.My therapeutic orientation is primarily cognitive behavioral, behavioral, and solution focused therapy. I have seven years of addiction experience working with adolescents and adults, and fifteen years experience meeting mental health needs of individuals, couples, marriage and family, adolescents, and children.
