“I am never upset for the reason I think” (CIM). Many of us have a belief system based on past experiences and perceptions that may come from distorted or irrational thinking. Changing our belief systems is the foundation of my work. I have been a licensed clinical social worker for 35 years. For over 35 years I’ve offered workshops and training on “The Healing Power of Laughter & Play”. I use Improv Therapy in my practice and have groups for “Improv for Parkinson’s and Care Partners” “Improv for Wellness” “Coping with Anxiety through Improv”, “12-Step Recovery & Improv” and “Improv for Therapists”.I have extensive training in addiction, mood disorders, therapeutic humor, and improvisational comedy. Using improv techniques clients learn to be in the present, develop self-confidence and insight. I work with PTSD, anxiety disorders and depression using techniques, such as Mindfulness, Meditation, and CBT.I treat various medical issues, such as Parkinson’s disease, traumatic brain injuries, dialysis, and chronic pain. I also work with caregivers for the chronically ill and elderly. My professional and personal experience with pain issues and caregiving for partners of people with neurocognitive issues give me a unique perspective to help others.
