Michael Fitzroy Nias

Michael F. Nias, has recently arrived in south Florida from the University of Florida, Department of Psychiatry. As an assistant professor, he was the primary psychotherapist at the Adult Outpatient Psychiatic Clinic. Michael is a legally and psychodynamically trained behavioral therapist who uses evidenced based therapies to support his clients reaching optimal well being in their life. He specializes in working with young adults and adults with serious mental health disorders, mood disorders, personality disorders as well as working through addictive disorders. He has worked with athletes at all levels, college and professionalsMichael has always believed in working from a bio-psycho-social and strengths perspective which enables his clients to obtain maximum health and happiness in their lives. His legal training allows him to support his clients through challenging mental and emotional court related issues such as separation-divorce, child custody and co-parenting and more.His multidisciplinary background with expert training and experience in evidence based therapies including psychological techniques EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization Reprocessing), CISD (Critical Incident Stress Debriefing) helps his clients working with trauma, depression, anxiety, grief and loss, recovery from addiction and family and relationship issues
