Taking a week off from your busy hectic routine and going on a peaceful trip is something everyone deserves but unfortunately for me the peaceful trip turned into the most miserable week. Never trust Mountaineer Casino, Racetrack & Resort. I clearly remember it was the month of June when we were all stressed up with the workload at our job. Endless projects and their submission deadlines were driving us nuts, the urge to escape from this tiring routine was increasing day by day. 27th June it was, having lunch at our usual roadside cafe is when our group decided to go on a trip as soon as the month ends because that is when we were all getting a 6-day off. We picked up our belongings and rushed to our office. We had done our bookings with Mountaineer Casino, Racetrack & Resort for a 3-day trip. The only reason we all trusted this was because of the ratings and reviews we heard about it and how well managed it was. This place had been the talk of the town for months. We had gotten ready to start the trip; little did we know that this was the start of our hard time. 4 hours later and there was no sign of the buses. On investigation, we got to know there was some technical fault in one of the buses and the other’s driver cheated. We were all pissed off as they didn’t even bother informing us. Finally, after some serious wait, the guides were there at 6 in the morning. We tried to forget what happened and promised to start our trip with a happy state of mind. The drive was pretty long so we decided to sleep for a while. 2 hours later I woke up with sweating as it was too hot and the AC’s weren’t working, soon enough everyone woke up with the same issue. We complained to the leader but he seemed too least bothered, we were all stressed due to this when another problem made its way to us. The bus stopped midway as the technical fault wasn’t fixed properly. Finally, at 9 in the evening, we reached our destination which had to reach by noon. The day was wasted but we were all too tired to be considerate about that, had our food and went to bed. The next day we woke up disappointed as nothing was the way it was mentioned. Bad mattresses and the dirty sleeping place are what we had got. The guides apologized in a cold tone as mentioned that this happened as we reached late and that was not what was planned. Anyways we had a good time at the Glacier climb but it was too hectic and for sure not a one-day business. Our trek experience very bad nothing was on point and the sleeping places which included tents for two nights and a hotel for the last day was all the worst we could have imagined. The trip wasn’t even planned well as we got late for the arrival time and all of us had to miss a day at work. Overall it was a very bad trip and what we thought we would have a good time turned into the most unpleasant trip and we were even more tired.
