Mr. Gary Van Arman

I have been a therapist and Clinical Supervisor for over 40 years. I have devoted my professional life to helping others get their lives in order, heal from the past and become the greatest version of whom they are meant to become. I address marriage and family problems, parenting, substance use disorders, codependency, other addictive disorders, mental health disorders, grief and loss and death and dying issues. I try to create a safe, confidential, soothing environment in which you can express yourself freely and feel heard, validated and supported. I teach effective communication skills, meditation and coping techniques to all.I utilize Family Systems Theory as my frame of reference to enable clients to view their situations from a historical perspective, heal from the past and build new, effective skills for coping with stress and communicating effectively with others. I provide Trauma Informed Care to promote healing in a safe and supportive atmosphere.My journey into therapy was anything but smooth. I resisted every attempt by others to engage me in therapy and face my issues which were killing me, damaging my relationships with my family of origin, my own family and my friends. Finally, after finding myself alone, defeated and hopeless, I reached out and asked for help which was extended to me.
