A couple of months ago MBD sent me a sms saying I needed to change their banking details to a standard bank account. I did so and my daughter has been doing a monthly payment to their account for months now. They say they haven’t received anything and now I’ve received a letter from Munnik Basson Dagama Inc Attorneys to pay up. I am so sick and tired of the harassment from these people that I now do not have a number they can contact me on although I did say they could contact by email. Never received anything from them. Now this RED letter. Is someone in MBD pocketing this money for themselves???

After lodging my first complaint, I received a telephone call from MBD regarding my Standard bank credit card account, which was settled in full in 2005. I have confirmed with Standard bank and Sterling that this account has been settled. This account was never handed over to MBD, but was settled with Sterling. What does MBD have to do with it? Dear, On the 07 July 2017 I called MBD incl. on number [protected] requesting the bank details where I can pay discounted offer offered to me via sms on the 27 June 2017 which is R827.45. The lady wanted me to give my debit order details but I insisted that I will do it myself she must sent me the details of which she did and I paid the discounted amount as she stated it will last until end July. Today the 12 July 2017 I received and sms stating I need to pay R623.13 to my suprise since I have paid the full discounted offer to me. When I call to try and understand today I’m getting a new figure which is R849 something which is news to me. DSTV phone me because i am a client for almost 18 years and say i have been chosen to upgrade from dual view to explorer and free fitment. Then dstv deduct R954 or something a month of my account and after months without notice i realise 2Xamounts of R119 is R238 taken off for on air. I stop my debit order. After 2 months they start to sms i owe them money. I phone about 15 times and ask them i need the recording where i agree to them to deduct of the money of my bank account. Good day I am very angry as this is my last option to resolve this query. First of all your consultants are incompetent and very rude and always drops the calls on our ears. I have spend more that r200 now trying to resolve this issue. I have received an sms stating that I had to pay my virgin active and the balance that was on the sms was r4421.06. To settle my contract. As below I have attached the proof of payment to sure that I have paid. To my surprise I received another sms the following day stating that this time I owe r4461. I called your contact centre asking why now is showing that I owe r4461 as I had paid r4221.06 that was stated on the sms on the 21st of june.? The consultant who answered the phone was moses he said he will listen to the call and come back to me. Few hour he called he did not tell me anything about the outcome of the call he just said I had to pay onlybthe difference as the money is reflecting on their system that I had paid. So I did pay the different plus extra r50 because he said it was for sms fees. As I had also attach the proof. He said after that I can send the proof o payment to his supervisors email address which was an invalid email address. Good Day I have been trying to call MBD”s office, after struggling i got hold of a consultant, after explaining that i wanted a paid up letter, she gave me the number of the Customer care, I have been trying to get hold of someone in customer care but have had no Joy. I had a Vodacom bill which was in mass dispute with Vodacom and hence was not being paid for some time because I was incredibly unsatisfied with their invoice and had been waiting for an itemized statement. No amount of phonecalls or visits to Vodacom resolved my problem. And believe me I did try to resolve it with absolutely no assistance whatsoever from Vodacom to do so. It was when Vodacom made front page news about so many customers purchasing data and it would appear as having been successful but then it wouldn’t activate. So the bill was handed to these MUNNIK scammers who phoned me non-stop and on a recorded phonecall said that they would reduce the account R 1900 odd (which increased due to accumulating interest) to R 1800 and on a payment plan of R 200 a month till covered. I proceeded to do that and have paid the R 1800 and can produce proof thereof but daily they still send threatening messages and consistently call from different numbers. When I completely lose it with them and tell them to check their facts and update their system and listen to recorded phonecalls they are either incredibly confused and can’t even back up the enquiry about payment… or on 2 occasions they just put the phone down. Please can somebody assist with this! It is pure harassment and I see there are multiple complaints online. Thank you

I had a Woolworth Visa account. I became disabled in December 2015 and could no longer work. I applied for the income protection cover to which I was entitled under my contract of employment. My claim was in process for over 11 months before it was rejected on the basis of my employer submitting false information on my employment status. I have now instigated legal proceedings against my former employer, but I am still unable to work and unemployed and have no income. Due to my illness, my mother has power of attorney over my accounts. My mother and I have both sent all documentation regarding her power of attorney and my illness (including medical reports and affidavits) to MBDCS on numerous occasions over a period of more than a year. A payment arrangement is in place. I continue to get calls from what sounds very much like the same call centre operator multiple times a day from different numbers. She is usually Sandra or Elaine. Every time she calls, she denies having any record of any documents and says she knows nothing about the power of attorney, however my mother has actually spoken to her many, many times, including to make the payment arrangement. Laying a complaint with MBDCS against her made no difference and now their line cuts out every time I try to get through to where I can lay a complaint. When I ask to speak to a supervisor, the line goes dead or when I get someone, they refuse to identify themselves with name and surname and direct line and then put down the phone. I don”t know what more to do, except for to advise the public to never get a woolworths visa card – it will haunt you forever in the most horrible way. I had an account with Truworths that I last paid more than 3 years ago. I tried to settle the account in 2008 with no luck because Truworths and the law firm at the time could not give me any details. I start getting calls in 2010 about the account, 3 years later. I tried to make arrangements to pay with no success. I evently was able to pay the full outstanding amount in September, as per the telephonic conversation. I heard nothing for about 2 weeks and didn’t receive any letters about the matter. All of a sudden I’m called again and told there is an outstanding amount of almost R500 still to be paid for calls regarding the account. I’m not informed that the lines are recorded, who the person is or who they are calling from. They are now harrassing me and I’m going to report this firm to the legal BAR as they are performing ilegal actions. I’ve been promissed 4 times in the last month that a Query Manager will contact me and no one has done so. With this, they are adding into this “bill” I have my proof that this account is settled and have had enough now. I’m on the verge of taking legal action against this firm.

I have been trying to sort out my account for 3 years I have been in contact with MBD via email and phone as I have so information that I require to see the detailed billing . I keep getting calls from consultants here and now they have pushed the bar, I got a call from them on 08/02/2012 on my cell and on my work number. I did not authorize them or anyone to call me on my work number. My work is my work and they should respect that and not involve my personal stuff at work, they have no right to do that. Its actually none of the consultants business how my finances are and when I decide to do what with my hard earned money, these people have no empathy and no sense of understanding, all they care about is making commission and they force people to commit to things they can at the time. I received a call from MBD at 18h15 today (23 Feb 2010), the first call came through, and I couldn’t hear the person on the other end, the second call came through, I could hear her but the call dropped, on the 3rd occasion, the reception was much better. The consultant’s name was Thobile, she was very rude and unproffessional, I tried to explain to her that I have a networkreception problem at my house, but I couldn’t even get a single word in, she was shouting at me and accusing me of having dropped the line, she asked me very rudely ‘when are you going to pay?’, If this is the attitude we are getting from debt collectors, then how does MBD ever plan to recover any of their debts. I asked to speak to her supervisor, she told me in a very rude and bad tone, that if that’s what I want, then I should call back. I’m very disappointed at this. MBD should re-look their strategy, if they are hoping to get people to pay this way, they might end up chasing debtors away and not being able to meet their targets.

I received a letter from MBD Inc (Munnik Basson Dagama Inc.) stating that I must pay an amount of R23000 in a FNB account for credit card arrears. Failing to do so will lead to further action from them. Upon investigation I found that it was a credit card and amount in 1997. I was again phoned today by a representitive of the same company on my cell phone, which number I did NOT revealed to them. (Nor my ID Nr) The person was quite arrogant and said he give me time untill tomorrow, and then want to know how I intend the way forward. More difficult is that their is nobody specifict to talk to and phone calls show as unknown numbers. They could not explain why this came up after fourteen years . I will appreciate advice as this could possibly lead to blacklisting which will have a serious affect on my business. Thank you in advance
