First of all I want to clarify that I am not a hater of Chiropractors, I really think that chiropractic adjustments work, it does have its benefits if you have any kind of small injuries or postural pains, however, you should ALWAYS choose your chiropractor VERY CAREFULLY and especially stay away from My Bodyworx, these guys will just make your problems WORSE. I’m a 53-year-old military vet and I have had my fair share of injuries while I was serving in the army. My lower back was bugging me for quite some time and after some time it became so worse that I couldn’t pick very heavy weights from off the ground. One of my ol’ buddies suggested that I should go to a chiropractor. My Bodyworx was the nearest one from my location and it had really good reviews on the internet, so I decided to go there. I started going there around 2 years ago, back then all I had was some acute lower back pain, nothing much serious, however, now I have overstretched ligaments that can’t hold anything in place.
During the first few weeks of the adjustments, the pain of my lower back was reduced significantly and I was feeling happy. However, after around 3 months, I started feeling pain on my sternum. It was like someone was rapidly stabbing me on the lower chest and I was not able to do anything about it. I told my chiropractor about this pain and he told me that he would “take care of that”. Soon the relief I got from the adjustments started decreasing and sometimes the pain came back just hours after the adjustments. After 1.5 years later, I was going to My Bodyworx for 1-2 x EVERY WEEK and the pain wasn’t getting better. One night I had a really bad pain in my lower chest, and this time I was convinced that I had a heart attack, my wife called an ambulance and after a traumatic visit to the emergency room, an X-ray showed that my ligaments were “over stretched” due to shear stretching forces applied to them on a regular basis. Moreover, I found out that the lower back pain I was experiencing was because of just weak erector spinae muscles, which could have easily been strengthened by doing some lower back extensions. The chiropractor was clearly stealing money from me and because of the greed of My Bodyworx, I had to go through 18 months of hell. Please don’t go to My Bodyworx for any chiropractic adjustments. They just want your money and will do anything to get that. If the chiropractor at My Bodyworx wouldn’t have popped and stretched my ligaments so much, my back would have been better. This is the WORST place you can go to. I didn’t want to write a post like this, but after seeing the false advertisements and reviews on My Bodyworx’s website, I was forced to do so.
