I’m from an online marketing agency and I want to inform of you of the scams Ocean Dental pulls off. These people hired my agency for local SEO and promotion. We usually take an advance upfront but they wanted to test our skills first. They gave us a partial payment of $100 for a package of $500. We worked really hard on the promotion of their site. They had a really bad online reputation because of multiple negative reviews left by their past customers. So we had to put a lot of effort into their site’s marketing. Anyway, when we helped them with their website, it took us around 3 months. The total cost of their project was well at around $1200. When it came to billing these people denied to pay us anything. When we asked for a reason why they were not paying us they told us we didn’t fulfill our promises. According to them, we were over-charging them. But the thing is, we had already discussed this situation with them and at the time of discussion, there weren’t any issues regarding the proposed charges. They just denied agreeing to the new amount. One of the guys from my agency went to meet them. They simply told him that they don’t like the work we have done so they won’t be paying us for it. We had spent countless hours optimizing their site and helping them attract more customers. Their business really surged in growth after our marketing efforts. But they didn’t pay us anything. We have filed a complaint against them but till now, there hasn’t been any progress in that direction. To be frank, my agency had worked tremendously in the reputation management of this company. And let me tell you, they had a terrible online reputation when we started working with them. Their service is terrible and they don’t know how to treat their customers. That’s not my opinion. This is what the complaints were about. Many past customers were tired of these guys’ terrible customer support and many of them complained of being over-charged. Due to such a terrible reputation, we were quite hesitant in working with them. But they had told us that the reviews are fake and they have been trying to resolve the issue for quite some time. They had paid us $100 in advance so we had thought they were legit. In reality, they are scammers. It was a big mistake for us to work with them. They are low-minded scumbags whose only goal is to take advantage of other service providers. We shouldn’t have trusted these people. And we hope they will pay for their crimes. I just wish my story will help in raising awareness about these criminals. If you are related to any marketing company or agency in some way, then you should stay away from these guys. They will try to scam you too and you wouldn’t want that to happen. We have learned a valuable lesson here and I hope you learned something from my experience too.
