“As a longtime Suffolk County Cablevision/Optimum customer (for over 40 years) – Cable/Internet/Telephone, I was very disappointed and dismayed to be “brushed off” by Michael (Employment ID- MJ 1) in the “Customer Service” corporate office, who belittled the reason for my complaint and demonstrated not only gross ignorance, but also indifference and a hostile response to the reason for my call – an offensive/misleading TV ad currently being shown for Optimum services and products. The ad not only has zero/nada/absolutely nothing to do with Optimum, but is insulting in its” denigrating depiction of women, people of color, and caring, compassionate citizens (vimeo.com/267680369 ). Michael had not viewed the ad, and therefore, was in no position to refute my assertions, but he nevertheless took it upon himself to insult my appraisal of this offensive ad, which depicts a “crazy cat lady”, willy-nilly tossing food about the lawn/driveway of a stranger”s house, where dozens of very patient and calm cats had assembled, while the owners, people of color, looked on puzzled and in disbelief. Community/stray/abandoned/feral cats present a real problem in many towns and cities, where there is no animal service that will undertake remedial programs, but instead, will catch and kill these cats with no effort extended to re-home or care for them. Fortunately, there are countless dedicated citizens, both men and women all around the country who, at great personal sacrifice, will trap and get these animals spayed/neutered, vaccinated, medicated and fed, sometimes returning them to the cared-for colonies in which they live, or finding homes for those who are domesticated and accustomed to living with people. This truly stupid, insensitive and misleading ad, is a discredit to Optimum and should be removed at once. And since the subject has been raised, I would strongly urge Optimum, which has a large presence in both rural and urban communities, to “give back” to these communities by making generous donations and/or creating a fund to support “free spay/neuter” services in the communities that contribute to the wealth and success of Optimum! Now that would be something worthy of advertising!”

* Excessively vague and unreasonable service window (10am to 8pm) * No way to block off a period when no one would be home to meet technician * 1st call on day of appointment, automated system stated technician would arrive between 6:30pm and 7:30pm * 2nd call on day of appointment, automated system stated technician would arrive between 7pm and 8pm * In the middle of the day, hours before either of those bits of misinformation, I left the house for about 90 minutes, and that is when the technician came and left * After the fact, I received a pointless call from someone else at Optimum to inform me that I missed my service appointment and said she would transfer me to customer service to reschedule, but just sent me back to the automated wasteland that previously gave me the misinformation, which said I have an appointment between 10am and 8pm today, then disconnected without an option to speak with customer service * 3rd call on the day of appointment, I managed to make contact with a nice enough but essentially unhelpful person who offered to reschedule an appointment for Sunday, wait for it, between 10am and 8pm * It’s almost as if they don’t care

1) I was told on the telephone when signing up for their “triple play” that I would not need to purchase any additional equipment. When the technicians arrived I was informed that my wireless router, which we discussed on the phone and was assured was compatible, was not compatible and would need to purchase an Optimum router for $100. Calls to Customer Service Department were a waste of time. 2) Optimum forgot to contact my telephone provider to tell them I was switching to Optimum and to discontinue service and dispatch my land line phone number to them. I now have to take another half day off from work next week so the Optimum techs can come out again to install the digital telephone, which they had assured me they would do today. 3) Following installation of digital internet (which they managed to accomplish), high-def, digital TV no longer works. Optimum refused to send the techs back out to fix the problem – told me I had to wait a week and half to fix the TV when they come out to fix the telephone. I repeatedly asked to speak to a supervisor and was repeatedly denied. This is the worst customer service from any business I have ever experienced – so much wasted time and rude reps.

1. Somewher in March my internet wasn’t working, I called optimum customer service and after they checked on line, Customer servives asked me to disconnect the Router and get it replaced by exchanging from one of there store. 2. I went on Saturday and exchanged the router and connect it back, but still my internet wasn’t working. 3. I called back to customer services and was told everything seems to be good but it looks like you have to get Optimum Technician & it looks like you have wiring problem, so I got appointment for tech to come in. 4. I took 3 hours off from my office and waited for tech. As soon as he arrived in my house, I took him to the place where I have Router & Modem & other connections. The moment, tech saw that, he said you have bad modem. He replaced bad modem and did not do anything else and I was charged $85. 5. 2 weeks ago today we upgraded to optimum 150 and since that time have had nothing but trouble. This is a firehouse, emergency services, with 2 weeks now of spotty service and outages. 1 week ago today the internet went out completely and we had to disconnect router from the splitter and hook direct to get internet to work at all. That means no TV for the last week for the volunteers here, and still spotty internet. 8 days ago they determined the underground cables to building needed to be changed. 7 days ago we were told they would be here Tuesday to run the cables, its now Thursday and noone has been here, and the emergency services of the ronkonkoma fire department are still dealing with internet outages multiple times per day. You would think when emergency services are impacted, there would be some prioritization here for us. While I had no expectations of an overnight repair, it”s been 2 weeks from my initial report of a problem. For 2 weeks the emergency services have been impacted, 14 days.. what will it take to get this fixed?? Ronkonkoma fire department, 177 portion road, lake ronkonkoma, ny, 11779.

3/5 – Called Optimum re. a outage – waited on hold for over 40 minutes and was told an appointment was scheduled for Thursday, 3/7 between 10a-8p 3/7 – No repairman showed. Called Optimum again at 6:30p and Carlos stated no appointment was made and that there is an outage in the area and therefore he could not make an appointment. 3/8 – Went on line and found out there is NO outage in the area. Called to speak to a supervisor to resolve the issue. Have been on hold now for 17 minutes and no supervisor has picked up. Still waiting… This is unacceptable service for something I am paying over $180 per month along with paying for the service protection plan. PLEASE HELP

I called in to pay my bill over the phone as I always do, today the automated system was not recognizing my phone number and or account, so I put me to a rep (lisa). Our conversation didn’t go well I asked her about 6 times for a supervisor. She kept trying to over talk me saying a supervisor can’t do nothing, and I would have to pay a fee to get my payment accepted. She still did not get a supervisor for me, she was very unprofessional and I have never dealt with a rep like her before. Since I can not get my payment in and your reps are rude and I can not get a supervisor when I ask to speak with one. you can close my account. If I treated my clients like this, I would have lost a good percentage of them do to bad attitude. Check your records. How long have I been an on-time paying customer. A new service was installed in our building on Sunday and in the process my existing service was interrupted because the technician disconnected the coaxial cable to my service and left it hanging unconnected outside the building. Shoddy work! I had to wait a day to have it restored. Despite the aggravation and losing a day and a half work Optimum gave me a credit of $12.58 (!!) because the system calculates that as compensation and nobody can do better. Call that customer service??

A Payment Amount: $196.82 was made 7/28 C, but somehow a second payment was allowed fro the same amount on 7/29 Payment Amount: $196.82 . I have attempted to get a refund for this over-payment of $196.82 since 8/3, and have spoken with 4 supervisors, all promising the refund was escalated, and payment would be in my account by 8/5 the latest. I spoke with a Supervisor Fred Gonzalez [protected]) @ 2:25pm, and he reassured me that the refund would be in my account by Saturday 8/5..this was his personal guarantee. I asked him what happens if it is not in my account, he reassured me that is not possible, it will be there. I called [protected]) at 9:11am on 8/5, advising the refund was not there, and escalated to 3 supervisors, and last spoke with (Andre), who would not provide his last name..he advised that there is nothing he could do, and to call him on Monday if it is not there by then. I advised that this was unacceptable, I asked that he notate the log that I am making a comp[any Presidential Escalation, and asked that his manager call. He advised that he thinks that manager(Joe-he would not provide a last name) would be in at noon. I doubt that Andre will move on this, and I would like to know what Optimum intends to do as far as the financial burden I was now placed under. This issue left me with almost $200 less in my account, which was a major financial burden and an inconvenience that prevented me from addressing several financial commitments. I am very unsatisfied with the process of reimbursement..you can take our payment in seconds, but it should not take 5 days for a return. Lee

A simple request to change my Logon ID for the Optimum Online account requires me to be home. They request all the hardware serial numbers in order to apparently, validate the account? I was already logged in to my account, and submitted an online chat request, and provided details regarding the account already for them to have access into it (validation enough?), then they claimed an inability to assist because I was not home and able to provide the serial numbers off my optimum cable hardware. Something doesn’t sound right when all the request was it to change my logon ID. This is not the first time Optimum has made it difficult to make simple changes to the account. Just another example…

A tech showed up at my apartment . He stated he needed to pick up equipment due to nonpayment. The bill is $106. Nopne contacted me about this practice.I have no such policy in the handbook they gave me. I would like to speak to a supervisor in regards to this matter. I would also like to add that when I lived in the household with Mr. Kenneth Draper who also received optimum in 2017, no one ever came to the apartment to pick up equipment. The company spoke with him over the phone and offered to pick up the equipment as an option. No one just showed up at the home.

About a year and a half ago, cablevision forced all subscribers to take a cable box or lose approximately 11 channels. This box didn”t work properly from day one but because it was free, people didn”t complain. The rental was free for a year but then the charge ($8) was added to your bill. They even charged a rental on the remote. I went to Ebay and got my own remote for 10 dollars and tried to return their remote to save 2 dollars a month. ($24 a year to rent something you can own for 10 dollars) They said I couldn”t return it, I HAD to rent it as it came with the cable box ($8 a month rental fee, so the total rental fee was $10 a month). For the intermittent service from the inferior cable box to their ridiculous fees or renting equipment, it”s time to go to another provider. I don”t care how bad or good Verizon is, I have to get away from cablevision. I have inquired about FIOS, Dish and Direct TV. Cablevision is hands down the worst company I have ever dealt with. You can tell what kind of company it is when you deal with their staff on every level – unprofessional and ill trained. Keep your money, you earned it and find another provider- I am.

I was told, by Optimum customer service (after 5 mins of navigating a phone queue and many more minutes on hold) that we would not be credited for this outage as I personally did not call Optimium during the aforementioned time period to advise. My entire street had no service, we had just been hit by a Nor”easter, I was dealing with electrical issues, fallen trees, no heat & many more important issues. As I said, our entire street was out & over the next week there were several Optimium Trucks working in the area where I live so; understandably & obviously, Optimium was aware. Optimum”s policy is unfounded, unfair and is written to put the burden of proof on customers. Their policy might be understandable in an individual outage but given the situation described above it is just plain wrong. I am already overcharged for inferior service (they have a monopoly, no other service is available in my exact location) and now I am being charged for service I did not even receive. The situation I have described in this note is far from the first time I have received such inferior service from Optimium, perhaps this is just the straw that broke the camel”s back, hence my reaction. I want nothing more that to find another company to supply our cable, internet and land line but, as I mentioned, I have no choice. Account #-1=[protected] Ref#[protected] I received a letter yesterday from the Collection Agency noted above stating this account was in “seriously overdue”. This is do to the incompetence of CMA Cablevision. I was contacted in late May via voice mail that my statement had been returned and they needed an accurate mailing address. My address was the same however the accounting department sent my statement to China, Texas rather than Beaumont, Texas. When I spoke to the CSR I questioned her what was the amount owed on the account and she stated there was actually a refund to be issued. The statement nor refund was received however this was not unusual for refund status. A statement was received from CMA on June 29th requesting 22.77. I contacted a CSR rep the next morning due do the discrepancies reported by them and she stated the CSR in May made a mistake, she was looking at a previous account (that refund took 3 phone calls and 4 months to receive). I told her I would be remitting the payment on July 8th which I am prepared to do…this is the error on their part not mine therefore I should not be penalized for their accounting errors. My records should reflect I pay on time and this is a discredit to me as a consumer. I will report them to the Consumer Division of the State of Texas as well. Thank youl

This should have been a 10 minute phone call and turned into 2 hours. The first rep I spoke with reset my ONLINE PASSWORD NOT MY TV PIN!!! I begged for a supervisor and he would not transfer until this incident occurred and he had no choice. We were disconnected three times. With no resolution. We asked for some type of compensation for the inconvenience. We were disconnected by Timothy and Legen (who forgot to put my husband on mute while he sat there and laughed at him in the backround with other reps), followed by supervisor Nicole. I decided to start fresh on 12/11/19 hoping to have a rep that could help. I spoke with Edison who went back and reviewed the notes from then and was baffled by this and decided to offer us 3 months free showtime and 6 months free Starz. EFFECTIVE IMMEDIATELY! ON 12/14/19, I called again because the offer that was promised “effective immediately” still hadn’t happened. I spoke with Angel who could not understand why it wasn’t on yet when Edison had promised this. He then told me he sent it to his supervisor who was going to call me back shortly on our home phone. Today is 12/17/19 and I still have yet to receive that call OR the free movie channels. So I call again today and speak with Jane who then tells me that I NOW have to wait for the special promotion to start on December 31st!!! No one has said that yet!!! I asked for her supervisor, she said he will call me back. I don’t believe he will so I told her I will hold for him. After 15 minutes, Jane came back on and said “my supervisor will not take my call because he is finishing up another call and has paperwork to do”. What!?!?!??! That’s your response Jane!?!?!? Gallo. The charge for the box was taken off the account. However, the charge for the modem still remains on my bill as of my 11/1/2020 invoice. I have spoken to a representative at least 2 times (maybe 3). I was to told each time that they were still looking for the returned modem, and once it was found the modem charge will be removed and a credit will be given to me for the Oct., Nov. My technical support calls haven’t changed anything. On November 1, I changed the modem, but my attempts to get the Internet working together with the technical support service did not change anything. I was scheduled to visit a technical specialist on November 2, 2019 from 11 a.m. to 2 a.m. Despite my constant calls and requests, the specialist never arrived! At the same time, no one called back or warned, did not apologize. In what country of the world is this possible ????? Moreover, I made two attempts to reach the technical support service (each time I waited an hour), but in the end I could not get through! In the end, I got spoiled for the weekend and I’m still without internet! I hate you!!! Now much to my dismay, I didn”t understand why because I didn”t make, authorize, or initiate this payment nor did my husband. I proceeded to call the billing department at optimum at 8:am and the rep was extremely rude talking over me and not allowing me to get my questions out. She proceeded to tell me that they would keep anything that is due and they can only make a claim concerning any credits to the account. I was shocked that she was telling me that she didn”t know who I was even after I gave her the acct info and address and that besides a claim for the credit amount but not the full 470.84 that was illegally removed from my account. I tried to ask her how long this claim would take and she talked over me seeming as she was ready to end the call. I proceeded to explain that this is her job and she needed to be more professional and she stated she wasn”t in any danger of losing her job. I tried to talk and she hung up. I”m beyond disappointed and disgusted. I”ve been with optimum and usually they are superior in service in all areas so to deal with this is beyond disrespectful. I would like a full refund of my money that was illegally remove out my acct.

Adding insult to injury Like many other brooklynites my rent went up. I could choose to pay the increase or move. I chose the latter since I didn”t have the money. I called optimum to disconnect explaining I had to move and had no new address. The person on the phone was rude, insulting, forced me to give them my new address to which there was none because, I was essentially homeless. He then refused to pro-rate my account to my move-out date Dec 31st and forced me to pay until January 21st. Funny – how they can pro-rate your account when you open an account but, not when you close it. He also told me cablevision would not pick up the modem, cable box and I would have to haul them to Flatlands Brooklyn. Quite far and in the middle of nowhere. Had closing my account not been so terrible an experience I would have gladly opened a new account with them in the future now it”s seem highly unlikely. My experience with Optimum felt like a scene out of Goodfellas. Lost your home: ### you pay me! I won”t need the service past the end of the month: #### you pay me! Can your technicians pick up the equipment?: No, #### you pay me! It is very easy to see why Optimum – Cablevision has one of the lowest customer satisfaction ratings of all US companies. The IRS collections people are actually easier to deal with than Optimum. I can only pray for Google to roll out fiber across NYC because Optimum customer support is horrid at best.

After 2 hours of calls they determined the cable box needed to be replaced. The box is in a weekend/summer home. I asked that the box be sent to the billing address. They agreed. 3 weeks later I called to say I have not received the new box. then after 2 more hours of phone time they said they cannot send it. They need to receive the old broken one before providing the new one. The store that was about 45 mins away has been closed . only open store is at least 3 hours roundtrip. so they said they would send a person when I am at the home to get the old one & install the new one. I called today to arrange the appointment to ensure I am there at the home … now they say they cannot do it that I need to bring the box to the store. !! then they came back on the phone & said that they can do it but it is an $80 charge !!! after at least 10 calls with them they are only now mentioning this !!! This is outrageous. I have been paying for the past 2+ months even though no access to cable. I am now waiting once again for them to call me back. After having been a customer for 30 years and paying for 5 optimum cable boxes the equipment is no longer working correctly. The boxes need to be re-booted several times a day. After trying for an hour to speak to a representative, I finally reached someone in a third world country. I asked that they send me 2 new boxes and I would return 2 of the older boxes. After much delay I was told that I was not entitled to replace the defective equipment and given no options or recourse. I am paying over $200 a month and I”m told there is nothing that can be done!! Your kidding! I am finished with this company – I was never offered an alternative solution. I will be calling Fios as soon as I am finished with this complaint!

After losing Starz I decided to down grade my Optimum service to only Internet and I was going to try streaming shows. I purchased a Amazon Fire Stick and hook it to my TV and it worked fine. I then tried companies like Netflix and DirectTV Now and they all work fine. I called Optimum to cancel or downgrade my TV subscription and spoke to Three different people who finally sent me to the “Retention Department” which basically kept me waiting for 50 minutes. I finally got through on a Friday February 2 and spoke to a lady to told me I can get a promo that will allow me to keep my Internet speed, give me Basic TV that I can Stream, allow me to keep my cable box if I wanted it and give me Showtime…So I accepted it, I kept my my which she said was OK and now I found out I lost all my Recording Functions which she said I wouldn’t, I would being to stream live TV through my TV with my device which I found out the Fire Stick doesn’t support the Optimum app. She did tell me just go to the stations I want to watch and key in the Optimum User Name and Password I use for Optimum log in and it would work. It doesn’t, all lies or she was clueless, either way it looks like I am screwed by the cable company, until I terminate with them in the coming future…BTW, I am a Senior, with a military disability and retired.

After waiting over 1.5 hours for a call back from optimum technical support, the technician finally called me on my cell phone and then we were cut off. She made no effort to call me back. I called optimum tech support back and was placed back in the queue and would receive a call back “in over 45 minutes”. I tried calling several numbers. Cannot reach a live person. It”s been over an hour now that I am waiting for a call back. The system is flawed when a technical support person cannot call the customer back!!

After what I just went through I don”t imagine this Falling on anything but deaf ears is but I might as well give it a shot. A month or so ago I received a new modem from optimum. I hesitated installing it because the service was already reliable. After a speaking to an optimum rep assuring me the new modem was meant to speed up our internet service d have it work better with the optimum network overall. So I installed the new modem a few weeks ago. Then my internet service stopped working. I called to have a tech come by and asked if I was going to be charged for the visit. They assured me I would only be charged if the fault was my own. The tech showed up, identified the problem being the splitter from the original installation (from over a decade ago). He removed the broken splitter and replaced it with a new one. Today I called customer service and was told that I would be charged $80 for the service charge and they”re is nothing I can do about it. The fault lied with a cable splitter inside the house that optimum installed originally which was completely cut out after installing a new modem that optimum sent me. And as for my signing of the work at the end, it was presented as aknoledgment of the work. There was no option to agree or disgreee to any charges, just a open area for a signature. Now I”ve been a customer since optimum offers internet services regardless of better service being offers at better prices from other competitors. Agent called me after canceling my service and getting Fios instead, he called and promised to have someone solve the internet issue and will make sure to take care of the Fios charges, promised to have an agent at my house on 1/6/20, never sent or called to follow up. I’ve been a Optimum customer for over 17 years and customer service has went from bad to worse. Luckily I did not cancel my service with fios and believed the lie about having an my service fixed by giving me tv and the highest internet service (200mg) for $54.99. After a customer leaves and is convinced to come back your company should do their very best to maintain the customer and stop over promising and under delivering. Maybe the company is to big that it fails to keep customers happy by providing the right service. Please give me a call before I’m with fios for 30 days.

All of a sudden today some tech shows up do so work on the poll . None of my services were down. All of sudden I have no internet or phone my TV froze making a small red line in my TV screen. Howevervtv came back on but no internet. When I called they CV told me I had to schedule an apt for someone to come out. But then I was told it pwuldnt be until Tuesday. Although I have documentation of two year agreement for internet services, Optimum notified me they will be arbitrarily increasing my rate after year one. At the time of this email, I have now spent over 3 hours online/on the phone with various Optimum representatives with no resolution in sight. Billing, customer service, and sales departments all pointed the finger at each other, and none have been able to provide solutions. Not only that, the customer service rep. laughed at me when I expresses my displeasure for having wasting hours of my day and the billing representative tried to up-sell me on additional services while my initial issue was still unresolved. I am constantly being put on hold, talked over, and treated as if they are doing me a favor by taking my business. Very unprofessional

Are you people that hard up now that you have to put “Info-mercials” on the News 12 Weather channel between 12am-6am. Some folks work midnight, rotating shifts, need the weather forecast before they go to work at 4-5am. This is channel 61 in NJ. Same channel during the afternoon you also air Long Island High School Lacrosse/Basketball in the evening. WHO CARES ABOUT THIS, we live in NJ not Long Island??? You don”t have any local channels that this can be broadcast on??? If this continues, I will be switching to Verizon Fios which is currently being Installed in my building!!! Around October 22, 2017, my Optimum inbox, with thousands of emails, vanished off their server. I”ve spoken to three support representatives so far (one via chat, two on the phone), and was promised that a more senior person would contact me, too, but that was a week ago. In sum, they say the emails were “popped, ” (luckily for me I”d never heard that term before), and it must be some third party server (?) and that”s all they know and there”s nothing they can do. Period. First, that is no explanation. Why? What happened? What could I do to avoid it? Don”t they have back-ups? Don”t they care exactly what the circumstances were so they could maybe come up with a solution? Or protect people in future? Apparently they don”t care about any of the above, and let me repeat, they LOST ALL MY EMAIL. I”ve had my optonline.net email address for many years, through different computers, and for the last ten years or so on my Macbook pro. I access it most often on my laptop, but also on my iphone, and sometimes, particularly when I travel, I use my browser (Safari in this case) and go directly to the optonline website. I was attempting to do this when I was traveling in October. When I got to the website I found that the fonts were now impossibly small (first time I”ve seen that, it must have something to do with either an iphone update or an optonline problem, but I can”t worry about THAT particular problem now). The windows and view could not be resized, and enlarging the visible messages made it impossible to click on them, the system seemed to freeze. So it was pretty much impossible to delete the usual political and sales emails or access any of the “real” emails from there, so I gave up. I did delete one or two, and got the usual message “Are you sure you want to delete these messages?” and I said yes, but I realized it was going to be hit and miss so I gave up and didn”t try again until I got home to my office. Then I saw that the Inbox was empty, except for what was there after about October 23. Sent is also gone. Trash says it has four messages (no matter how many messages I delete now, it always say four). All the Drafts are there, for some reason. So, something happened while I was traveling, apparently, but I did NOT select more than two messages, I did NOT get a message saying “Are you sure you want to delete your entire inbox?”, I did NOT do anything out of the ordinary that I haven”t done on dozens of trips. Where are my messages? This is really bad for me, but if sudden unexplained total loss happened to me, what”s to prevent it from happening to more people, and causing worse problems? I have most of my business emails in other forms, and the mail on my IPHONE seems to be working properly and is not affected so I have some access to the lost emails there. What would it be like for someone trying to access their business emails to lose all of them with no explanation and no back-up? I would (a) like an explanation of what happened, how often it happens, and how it could be avoided, both by you, protecting information on your server, and for me, if there”s something else I should have done (besides trying to check my email??) (b) like to have my emails back, not all of them, since apparently when I think I”m deleting a couple of hundred a day, they remain on the optonline server, because I think there were something like 9000 of them. Aren”t you at all curious about how a customer”s emails could vanish off your server? Your representatives aren”t, at all. I”m looking at alternatives.

As a long standing Optimum On-Line customer, (20 years) I am very disappointed in your handling of my account. I moved to a different location, you came out and installed my Optimum router for voice, TV and internet. As a result, of my move, I evidently owed you from my previous location $44. On 4/31 I paid the full amount owed to you of $221. However, I have been receiving harassing phone calls from you that I will be disconnected. I advised you that I had paid my account and to note it on my account. Today, I contacted Bank of America and they advised that IT WAS A PAPER CHECK DELIVERED TO OPTIMUM ON LINE since I had a new account (I moved, which you knew about). Further, I had Bank of America contact Optimum on Line and was told that I would continue to get the phone calls, and that I could check back again to verify you had received payment. I was very annoyed to hear that response. I was told that I could pay again to avoid disconnection with a credit card. Or as previously stated could get the harassing calls and wait until May 8 to see what happens. I chose to pay with my credit card again to avoid being shut off. I will still get your calls, to my dismay. You should treat customers who move differently than others and once the bank verifies with your representative that payment has been sent, you should remove them from the call/pay harassing calls. As an investor and customer in Cablevision I was thoroughly disappointed with the service I have received from Cable Vision. Today I contacted cablevision in regards to a letter I received in the mail stating my monthly service premiums were going to increase. When I contacted your customer service department I was first greeted by a representative that was uninterested in my concerns and immediately shuffled me off to your cancellation department, which was unprompted by me. After waiting a few minutes I was horrified by both the lack of respect and rudeness that was exhibited to me by your representative in the cancellation department (akmid?). Among other insults, it was implied by your associate that I was “stupid” for complaining about the price increase and was an idiot to leave cablevision. I did not devote 10 years of my life to higher eduation to be called an idiot. To say he was unprofessional would be a complement. I enjoyed the services cablevision offered me but was given no other choice but to cancel my services with cablevision.

At exit 100 of the Garden State Parkway North bound, your driver of an Optimum service van was exiting as others, including myself were entering. Instead of falling in behind the entering vehicles, he deliberately tried to run myself and another driver off the road so he could exit in front of us. He turned his vehicle hard at mine and just missed hitting me. Very dangerous. Very violent behavior. As I eventually got behind him and to his left, he had the nerve to wave his middle finger at me as if I was in the wrong. I could not get his plate number, but it was around 7:25 AM. Awful awful AWFUL! I called to cancel services and here I am three days later with cable. I can’t with their reps. A rep named Jessica placed me in hold because she was “going to transfer” me. I was placed on hold for about 4 minutes she answers the call with her usual thank you for calling optimum spiel, and acts as if I wasn’t on hold. Then she thought we should gonna transfer me put me on hold another time, sorry for being on hold a total of almost 8 minutes, she cuts me off mid sentence when I tell her that I’ve already been on hold for 7 minutes so the rap on the other end should actually be ready for me and I should not continue to be placed on hold. So rude! Then the next rep Natalie, continues to flap her gums when I tell can’t tell me a solid $ amount for just internet. Keepa saying “about $100 dollars”. Ok? $105, $180, what does that mean ?! Finally ahe tells me $112. I’m not trying thi great anything she has to say any longer. I expressed to her that I don’t want to hear it anymore, I don’t want speak to her… at one point she tells me “OF YOU DON’T LET ME EXPLAIN TO YOU HOW THINGS WORK I CAN’T TRANSFER. YOU AR GONNA BR SICK WITH ME.” She wasn’t given me any solution to my problem. Continued to tell me that she’s processing everything and basically just wasted my time period I was irate with her, so after 45 minutes of being on the phone with these horrible results, I still have cable when I called to cancel. A request was process for a manager to contact me within 72 hours and still 3 days later no call. This company has really gone down hill, in the bad way. I would not recommend them even to an enemy. Back in March I called to terminate my services and requested that the equipment e picked up. The rep on the phone informed me that a tech would be to my home on April 11 to pick up the equipment. No one ever showed. Last week I dropped the equipment to the optimum store since it became obvious that no one was coming to retrieve the equipment which was taking up unnecessary space in my home. I also attempted to remove the autopay feature from the account several times online. The system would not allow me to do this since I was no longer an optimum customer. On Wednesday I noticed I was billed for the equipment $1275!! I called and the rep informed me that I would be receiving a credit to my bank account within 2-3 days. I also requested a call from a supervisor since I had multiple insufficient charges to my account for other bills that were due to be paid. The money should have never been taken from my account and the equipment should’ve be picked up like I was told it would be. I have several unpaid bills as well as insufficient charges to my account because of optimums mistakes. I called to and found out that the refund had never even been submitted. I need the money that was taken from my account and I also need to be compensated for the company’s misconduct

Based on advice from the company I transferred my service from my former home to a condo. I use Tivo and require cable cards which I have used for at least 7 years. Since the move I have spent countless hours on the phone trying to activate my cable cards. I have been cut off after 50 minutes on the phone 3 times. I just found out there was added service on my bill since 8/5/2016. with paperless statement and automatic pay, i was paying $15 a month extra for 9 months where they reject to refund my money. They say it was my responsibility to check my bill all the time. So, that is okay for them to add a service without my consent? They added extra phone line on my account. So I was paying for 2 phone lines where i did not even know I had 2nd line. They insist I added but past 5 years living in the same apartment… really? they checked and there was no installation. no body came to install the phone line to my house… no record of me adding the line… they are bullying customers since they have right to service our area???? been a customer for 5 years not sure if this is a new brought company but the service is horrible. I called for 3 weeks to correct voice mail. I was never told to use a outside number to check the phone. Something we asked for several times. The tech came out 3 1/2 weeks later and advised us it was our phone button, we purchased a new phone but still cannot receive messages from our line 2. I have called cablevision several times again and have been charged $59.00. I called and spoke to a rude rep Brian 4/17/20017 and asked for a supervisor. He stated the supervisor Tiffany would not be taking my phone call because this is a valid request and charge. This is a horrible way to treat your customers. I am also a business owner and would never refuse to speak to a costumer about an issue nor complaint. I will be transferring my service to another provider and currently shopping around. Been customer of Optimum for 18+ years, for the last 3.5 years had very bad internet which was up and down all the time during different hours. Our account was [protected] Technician was in my house multiple times, after last time in May 2017 he mention that the problem is with wires on the poll, which he could not fix, but replaced modem to new one. He suggested to install app on my phone and call those guys every time we have internet problem. Almost every week or twice a week had to unplug modem and router to get internet signal. Sometime even that did not work and we have to wait for couple hours or so get the signal back. Long story short, we decided to switch to FIOS and we did it, now internet working like clock and excellent customer service. Called on December 11 to close the account, customer service rep told me to call on 15 or 16 to get confirmation. On 15 I was more then an hour on the line and no-one came to me, so I called on 16 and some nasty guy from special department unit tried to push me to get your service back and then when the answer was NO, he said that I will pay for that, because my disconnection day will Jan 15, which is totally wrong since I called you on December 11. Multiple calls and only one sane customer service rep, she left notes and you can see her name. Today, December 23 around 1:32 PM called you guys to follow up Jeff customer service rep told me to my face that for their company Customer is never right and I asked to talk with his manager. Was waiting online for 20+ min and finally her grace Maria ID GMV pick up the call. I asked her is this motto of Optimum: Customer not always right. She said YES! Beware of this company. I am in collections with cablevision for $300 when I actually have a credit on my account. Why, you ask? Well, there is another person with the same name at a different address that has not paid their bill. After about 2 hours on the phone, cablevision advised us to go to the police department as it was a case of identity theft. (No, it”s a clerical error). Police told us the same thing. Police also told us that they employ companies that use the “pay and prey” scheme. That is, the company calls all the “sally smith”s they can find, not just the debtor, and tell them that they owe the $. They make you prove you are not that person by tricking you into giving them your ss# for verification. Now they have your social and can write off the debt (Goes on your trw), so they threaten you to “pay the debt and we”ll sort it out after”. No thank you. As of today, i”ve spent over 5 hours on the phone, have gone to cablevision physically to show id, have faxed said id and bank statements and last 4 of social to them and still cannot get them to get the collections agency off of our backs. We have to prove we are not deadbeats because of incompetance and bad business practice on their part. Next step for me is the bbb and possibly a lawyer for harrassment. Stinks, because my condo has a contract with them that includes basic cable so if switch companies I pay for basic cable twice. They still get my $ and I still get screwed. And by the way they also provided me with the other person”s account number and driver”s license number.

Cablevision found another way of their customers paying more. Instead of increasing their already high rates, they now have removed access to approximately 20 formerly inclusive channges (such as Lifetime, BET, MTV, AMC, AMC, etc). Now they are requiring “monthly rental fees” for digital cable boxes, HD digital cable boxes or CableCARDs on each TV. So, I am paying for Family Cable is $55/month, with almost half the channels – – will their be a price adjustment????? I find it quite funny that they cut these channels in the midst of the Didital switch so consumers think that buying the TV converter boxes would work. I would like to find out who we need to contact for these unfair consumer practices.

Cablevision has been charging me hidden fees, I signed up with them about a month ago and got the ‘Optimum Triple Play’, they gave me a temporary phone number because they were porting my old phone number from Verizon to them, so a week later after I signed up with them they finished the installation and transfered my old number to the new service. They told me I wouldn’t be charged for the temporary phone number but when my bill arrived I was charged for both numbers my old one and the temporary phone number. They charged me $29.95 + $19.32 partial month fee for both numbers. When the installation was complete I immediately called in and asked them to remove the temporary phone number which they claimed they did. Then when my bill arrived, they told me the temporary phone number was still there and I’m still gonna be charged for it. They asked me if I wanted them to remove it and I said wait a minute I thought weeks ago and they said no it’s still on your line, you are paying for two lines. They asked if I wanted them to remove it and give me a refund and I said yes. So, I paid my bill and they excluded the additional charge for that temporary number which was $49.27 with the partial fee. Then when my next bill arrived it was there again. And what’s this ‘partial fee’ that they consistently keep charging me for? I think they have a bad billing system because they keep charging me an additional $19.32 for OOL and OV, this was the second time they charged me for it.

Cablevision has been charging their customers an additional charge if you have more that two boxes.in my case I have three but they are already charging me for the 3 boxes in which i”m paying 19.50. Then they add an additional fee and call it “additional set” at 5.00 per month. When you call to question this bill-they tell you its a surcharge for a third box, but does not say this on the bill.
