Serving as an ophthalmic optician from a long time, Dr. Paul Conkling told the investigators that he had sexual relationships with about 10 of his previous as well as current patients. He dated four members from the staff since the year 1985, according to the FOX31 Denver Problem Solvers.

The confessions made by Dr. Paul Conkling came in a document by the court which was released by the Colorado Optometry Board this week. The document asks Cynthia Coffman, Colorado Attorney General to renounce the permit of Dr. Paul.
Paul was the chairman of the Optometry Board of Colorado but then he was forced to give his resignation from his position in the Board in the month of February after his fellow colleagues issued his license’s emergency suspension due to a complaint filed by a patient on Dec. 24

Conkling at first denied the allegation, however when two more mysterious complaints were recorded with the state, one in February and the second one in March – agents burrowed further and came to know that he attempted to get the first lady who accused him, to drop her complaint with the board.
As per court reports on March 9, Conkling conceded his technique for the operation was to select troubled, adult female patients whom he had worked with for quite a while and take part in sexualized discussions before beginning to attempt to participate in sentimental or sexual contact with these patients.
He included he had been taking part in these activities since 1985 and that his better half was a previous patient.

People who accused Conkling would not say anything in front of the camera but talk using email. One accuser told that during a private eye examination, Paul would joke about sex and would put his hand on the leg of the patient and demand oral sex.
When Paul was confronted by the Problem Solvers he confessed that he made certain mistakes and he is ready to pay for them. When Conkling was asked if he would like to say sorry to the people who accused him, he said that he would do it when the right time arrives.

The investigation has been forwarded to Attorney General’s Office by The Colorado Optometry. This could lead to permanent revocation of Conkling’s permit, as per Cory Everett who is chief of staff at Department of Regulatory Agencies.

Everett said that any conduct that leads the consumer to risk is taken very seriously by the board. He also said because the case is still in process, so he can not reveal any sort of information related to it but he could assure that the board took an immediate action to stop Dr. Conkling from further practice.

A letter was shared at his Family Eye Clinic with patients in Centennial. The letter said that Conkling has made a decision to retire after the age of 33 years.

When the Problem Solvers asked for the reason for his resignation, they were told that there were medical reasons behind that but just as it was mentioned that his permit had been suspended, they removed the plate which had his name on it from the entrance of the lobby.

Conkling says that he no more has any interest to go back to the field of optometry again.

He said that he just wanted to move on in his life with his family and didn’t want any sort of hindrance. He added that he wanted the women, who accused him, to know that he didn’t intend any harm.
