A sexagenarian orthopedic surgeon and a village dweller have been detained in a prostitution sting. Dr. Peter James Mulhern, who has an office in Lady Lake, was taken into custody Friday after he turned up at Sleep Inn in Widlwood to have sex in exchange of $300, claimed by an arrest affidavit from the Sumter County Sheriff’s Office. Two undercover female sheriff’s deputies arrested him. Mulhern had messaged them earlier to meet after seeing their sexually suggestive pictures on a website. This has been one of a kind case where a surgeon was involved in such kind of cases. This has never been the case especially in that area. If it were not for the sting operation, it would have been difficult to find proves against the surgeon because he has been very smooth in his transactions and work. the two women police officers did a great job in this case.
A 55-year-old village woman named Michele Adee was also arrested on a charge of prostitution the previous day. As per an arrest affidavit, she had come to meet an undercover deputy after making arrangements through the same website. She offered to pay $75 for sex. She is currently free on $2,000 bond. Some of the other people caught in the prostitution sting are Ariel Cook (24), Nicole Amanda Ammirati (28), Heather Dawn Douglass (32) and Qwenshatta Kenyonta Daymon (23). All of them were ready to pay money for sex.
A 41-year-old man from Ocalan was also detained in connection with the operation who is accused of delivering a woman to the motel for sex. Gordon Siler McClure was seen roaming around the motel and seemed nervous when a Deputy asked him questions. The arrest report said that he possesses a .22-caliber semi-automatic handgun with a loaded magazine. His name was on felony probation in Marion County from before. He was arrested for having a firearm with criminal records and carrying a hidden weapon. The police booked him at the Sumter County Detention Center on $12,000 bond.

Dr. Peter Mulhern, was taken into custody on 5th August after he fell for a trap set up by the Sumter County sheriff’s deputy.
The 60-year-old accused has hired Bobby Rumalla, an Ocala criminal defence attorney to represent him. The lawyer represented Troy Thomas Owens who was involved in an accident Interstate 75 in the year 2014 that took the life of a salesman named George Phillips, Florida Highway Patrol Trooper named Chelsea Richard and tow truck operator named John Duggan. Although Owens managed to escape criminal prosecution, his license was taken for 6 months and he had to pay a fine of $1,000.
