15 February 2017, 18:30-19:00 Bacon on a special – 2 x 200g packs for R27.90. When i arrived home and opened the bacon it was bloody and smelled very bad. I had to throw it away. It has not reached the expiry date. No food should be sold if it already went bad. If i put it in my dish immediately without checking the condition of the bacon and gave it to my guest, they would all get food poisoning. I do not think this is acceptable at all. I had to incur extra costs to drive to a after hour shop to buy bacon at an more expensive price than the usual bacon price at PNP. I expect disciplinary action towards the responsible employee for their negligence and at least an voucher to cover my costs. I am a regular customer who buy”s groceries at PNP.

15 March I got R50 voucher – use by 28 Mar. 27 Mar my husband went to PnP Greenstones, spent over R200,.. gave voucher, system was offline; teller said phone PnP & ask to add R50 to blue card. Nearly one hour ago… I have been trying to lodge a complaint. I was on phone for fourteen mins 30 seconds, mostly holding on; Your rep could not find my purchase – 6 items. I do NOT have the slip now! She said she cannot tie it up to the card!!! WHAT? I asked to speak to supervisor… got sick of waiting.. so hung up! Is this a scam on PnP side??? I tried 4 times to register complaint on the web page… picknpay.co.za/contact-us, each time it said wrong cel and land line.. I tried 011 and 062… same message.. I tried +2711 and _2762… wrong cel and landline… What is the point of having this page if it will not allow you to submit…? I am a very annoyed & angry customer. Urgent answer please… How do I get the voucher on my card??? Anne Russell. [protected] [protected]@gmail.com [protected]

28 Oct 2019 Pick & Pay CampsBay Cape Town On offer medium size bananas at R 17 per kg Special offer with 25% discount sticker: small size bananas in a packet for R 16. This strongly suggests they are offering these cheap small bananas at R 16 per kg less 25% discount. Not so. After further investigation I was told the 25% discount only applies if I buy 5 packets that have such discount sticker. What is worse: these packets with small bananas only weigh 600 grams, so that they actually cost R 26, 67 per kg and even with the 25% discount they result in costing R 20 per kg, or R 3 per kg more than the better quality bananas. This is cheating the consumer.

29/12/2016 we went to Kuruman Pick n Pay looking for the Zipped backpack with pencil holderadvertised in your brochure. Nothing was in store. after we went to ask the manager if they do have the advertised backpack his response was not satisfied. He told that they did not received it and that if customers want backpacks they had to buy the more expensive ones and that he don”t care. This is unacceptable because it was advertised in the brochure and we expected to get it at Pick n Pay. This was not the only thing that was not available at Pick n Pay Kuruman. If this is how they want to do business they may as well close there doors. I really need an explanation for this matter.

31 October 2018 Today just after one o clock I made a cash payment of r5900 at pick n pay vangate mall I never use this mall but because it was the nearest one I had to go there, few mins after my payment was made I was then told by the Telkom consultant that the payment was supposed to be made at absa so I immediatelly phoned pnp vangate mall after 2 o clock to explain the matter of which in was advised to hurry back to the store as it can be reversed since its same day, upon arrival at pnp at 3 o clock I was then helped by a lady named Moira who went as far as getting the receipt refunded but she didn”t have enough cash and the manager Mo”s authorisation was needed and he couldn”t be found at that very moment so there was a long queue at customer service and they eventually voided my request since Mo wasn”t there for authorisation and there wasn”t enough cash to do the refund, Mo the manager evenetually came 40minutes later headstrong instead of giving authorisation he felt he needed to now phone claims which wasn”t necessary at all he was on the phone for more than 30minutes, only to tell me he cant do anything I then spoke to the store manager Darryl who told me the very same story, what irritated me most is that they never listened to the request I spent 1hour and 30minutes and only upon leaving one of the line supervisors asked if I was assisted and that”s where they fetched the receipt from Mo and checked that the refund went through long time already they only needed an authorisation from Mo so this was a huge lack of communication error and I am so disappointed in pnp having me waisted 1hour and 30mins for a query that could”ve been sorted out in less than 5minutes had they listen properly

Advertising paper for prices valid 17 – 20 October 2017 advertises “Bulk Ground Beef R52.99 per kg”. On the counter in the shop a hand written poster advertises “Bulk Ground Beef R52.99 per kg”. On the shelf you only find “Ground Beef mix R52.99 per kg”. I raised the problem with one of the butchery staff who called a senior staff member called Clayton. Clayton could not respond to the fact that the Ground Beef mix contains a lot more fat that the packet labelled Beef Mince. Clayton called the manager named Cindy. Cindy insisted that Ground Beef mix and Ground Beef is exactly the same thing because the label and the bar code correspond. She insisted that there is no misrepresentation and accused me of insinuating that they are uneducated when I pointed out that adding a word to an advertised item changes the description of the item.

After being ripped of by Spar for so many years the opening of the p n p store was welcomed by all Sedgefielders. After six weeks of happy shopping things are back to normal. eg There is not one special on the shelves, products are priced higher than all other p n pays. Why is this? Oh sorry, the management has stayed the same, the same management that ripped us off all the years.I love to shop at p n pays around South Africa, not having traveled to Zimbabwe I would imagine Sedgefield p n pay to be the p n pay of a 3rd world country. Please send a district manager to look for the near non existent no name brands and the general cost of all products in comparison to other p n pays. Spar allowed the store management to put on there own markups. Is this what is happening again? I am 58 years of age and have shopped in supermarkets since the early seventies. I am sure that If Mr Ackerman Had to shop in the Sedgefield p n pay he would disown it. Thank you for taking the time to read my grievance.

After I was very impressed with my first online shopping at PicknPay I did it again. What a disaster! I ordered 10 pieces Clover Springbok unsalted Butter and had to pay R40.00 for delivery. When the driver arrived we were both quite astonished to see only 1 piece of butter in the container. The price for the one piece was R69.99 – plus R40.00 for delivery. I refused to accept the delivery. This happened Friday afternoon, 04 October. On 08 Oct I was informed that there was no more stock available, so they sent only 1 piece of butter. Such a delivery, without any information, makes absolutely no sense for me. But worst is – I am still waiting for my money to be refunded and I had my smart shopper credit deducted from the shopping price. On 15 Oct I was informed that they escalated my complaint. I am not sure, if they will manage to refund my smart shopper credit as well as I haven’t heard anything from PicknPay until today, 20 Oct. So this was definitely my last online shopping order with PicknPay.

Afternoon Madam I trust that you are well. Thank you are well. Thank you for the email and for sharing this service experience. I apologize for this experience and I assure you as a valued customer we will address this experience at store level. I have copied my colleague Ashley Volmink who will address this quality of service with his management team. Elisha from our regional office will send you a formal letter of apology. Thank you. Regards. Sent from my iPhone Nolan Logan [protected] [protected]@pnp.co.za On 13 Jul 2016, at 2:32 PM, Visa Chetty wrote: I have been a loyal customer of your stores for many years, I have time and again received great service at your stores which is one of the main reasons I shop at your stores. But to my surprise, on the date of 11th July 2016, I was at the receiving end of some very poor service at the Chatsworth branch. Through out my shopping experience at many chain stores, the attitude and mannerism I received from chatsworth branch was unbelievable and unacceptable, leaving me speechless. what I am about to relate, can be verified by your staff, Jessica. I return 2 x 2 litres pnp fresh milk, due to it going bad before the expiry date. I was given the 3rd degree, and was treated as an illiterate by Rivash (Manager). He time and time again explained to me that the milk was not refrigerated, Therefore it went off, as there is a noticeable buldge, (which was not noticeable to me, i have pictures of it). As he was told by the diary????? By this time he really aggravated the situation by him persisting that the milk was not refrigerated, although the bottle was cold. The more I tried reasoning with him, the more persistent he became. By this time he really challenged my tolerance. At this point my husband joined me, he repeated the same reasoning to him. I just could not believe that for milk, it was such an issue, wasting valuable time further he made as if I was telling lies. Demanding to speak to the store manager, he carried on talking, I did threaten to slap him if he does not stop talking and get the store manager. I did not and do not feel good that i had to raise my voice, but Rivash definitely do not have management skills and really provoked me. At this time, I noticed that my husband was speaking to Rashid. I Walked to him and tried explaining Rivash”s attitude towards us. I was both shocked and disappointed to be treated the exact same way by Rashid. it was appalling to witness that a store manager of such a respected reputable chain store to behave in such a manner. He was so unfriendly and made as if he was doing me a huge favor. If this is how management behave, then I cannot blame the staff. when I tried to explain to him regarding his staff, Rashid Kader did not listen to what I have to say, i barely said 2 words he accused me of being rude, because I did not whisper to him and was audible he threatened to walk away, he did not give me an opportunity to talk. He repeated exactly what his staff Rivash had told us. I had no option but to walk away. Being the branch manager firstly he needs to be a people”s person then he needs to be educated in microbiology, this knowledge must be filtered further down to his managers, in order to avoid such embrassing situations. having limited knowledge such as Rivash and Rashid displays a poor reflection on pnp and gives one the impression that the standards are low regarding management. Rashid repeated exactly what Rivash the junior manager had initially had told me, this is evidence that they have been miss informed regarding bulging of plastic cartons/bottles. In my opinion, it was obvious that this youngster was not educated enough and was not in the position to make an informative decision by judging the situation. I refused to speak to him, after he accused me of not refrigeration the milk, he did not respect my request and carried on repeating himself, aggravating me and the situation. There are several reasons for milk to spoil. One that I can think of is that spoilage bacteria may have introduced gases that increased the pressure inside the carton. That”s just 1 reason, what about the material that has been used to manufacture the Pnp bottles, that also can be questionable. There is definitely more than 1 reason in explaining the reason why milk spoils. Unfortunely due to there limited knowledge they were persistent and adamant giving be the very basic reason. I re-iterate that my milk was refrigerated . PnP has been known to provide good services, and such events tarnish the company name. I expect an apology from both your rude staff. The respond i received from head office durban…I am still waiting for a property respond

All the small Pick n Pay stores give pensioner discounts. Whwn shopping the teller is able to give a discount against the total of shopping purchased. Woodmead Hyper operates on a pensioner discount voucher book system. However, since end December they just say they have not received any voucher books. They are unable to say when they will get them and have a do not care attitude. Why can they not give discounts at the till like other Pick n Pay stores?

Am sick and tired of Pick n pay with their staff that has bad attitude. Am the type that believes that a whole bag that has one rotten potatoe must not be condemned in spoling the rest. I know there’s excellent staff in Pick n pays and they offere excellent service. But Boulders Mall in Midrand has a Pick n pay that according to me and my expiriences never offer excellent service. I understand there’s an ongoing problem with FNB debit cards the gold ones whenever we purchase we told the Pick n pay machines cant read this card. Now am a person who works in a company that renders service i attend to customers on a daily basis and one of the rules when you render service or dealing with a customer is NOT TO MAKE YOUR PROBLEMS THE CUSTOMERS PROBLEMS!!! Make the customer understand the problems you have and offer a solution!!!dont impose your incompetent facilities on the process of me buying something, and leave me there to sort myself out !!! I got to Boulders pick n pay today and was at the express till when i was told debit card is not readed by machines and was assigned to another cahsier to help who had a very bad attitude as if i said do the job you do?? I dont enjoy my job at times but i never let the customer see the feeling am feeling cuz it’s none of his her business, wether am over worked or underpayed or have my own personal problems it’s none of her business she/he is there to get and pay for service …and ma there to generate income for the business!!! This cashier says my card is declining talking to the packer and threw ma card on the cash desk without conveying the message to me!!! Am using my money to buy whatever i want and i see no reason for Pick n pay staff to treat us like we begging for products you sell?? Do we now have to offer taking your staff for a “Customer -service workshop”??? Cuz you dont invest in such workshops that’s why you have staff that think they are selling sweets at their Uncle’s back room…we dealing with Pick n Pay here the leading and dominant force in retail industry…it’s a BIG BRAND!!! And i isuggest it ships inn or out!! If it’s not long queue’s it’s bad service or the bad attitude from stuff!! South Africa is the way it is because we accept bad servie from big brands that should invest in selecting the excellent people to do a job, and make people understand the role of thei jobs!! Pick n pay stuff is lazy, bad attitude and very incompitent!! and i know this complaint wont be attended!!!

As you know, I am not a great fan of the PnP Mini Market at Lakefield Square. Today, I again tried to get Ciabatta rolls (6pack), again none in stock (happens often, I guess the guy who does the ordering does not comprehend that if the product is constantly out of stock, it actually sells?). Tried to order a few packs. Went to the ‘manager section’ (no manager or supervisor in sight anywhere). Two staff were busy doing whatever they were doing. A cashier walked past me, made them aware that I was standing there, no response. I then said ME IS A CUSTOMER, still no response, they continued doing what they were doing. I then asked the female staff (NOT a ‘security staff’) what her name was. She did not respond. I had to ask her SEVEN TIMES, the last two times I asked whether she was refusing to give me her name. Her name is Abigal.

Bill number 1801B130103742. Came to the store at 3pm in the scorching heat with no AC put on at the store. Upon inquiry the staff at the store give a weird reply that ACs are put on when there are sufficient customers at the store. Extremely unprofessional and not in subah with the company standards I am definitely sure. Please investigate the matter and update corrective measures please.

Black Friday Rip-off I, like many other people who hate ques, placed my order online at 06:00 on Friday morning 25 November. Received my confirmation immediately. Today, Monday 28 November received an sms for the debit from my credit card which was R200 more than I had actually purchased. I called the customer care and was advise that there was an error with my order but I can request the refund upon collection at the store. When I got to the Woodmead store to collect my order this is what was given to me: – I purchased 4 x 3kg washing at R45. I was given 4 x 2kg at R46 – I purchased 1 x tresemme shampoo and 1 x tresemme conditioner at R49 each. The shampoo order was fine but I received and was charged for 4 x the wrong shampoo at R59 each. According to the manager, Mavis, orders placed online are only packaged the day before collection according to whats in-store and we shouldnt have chosen “allow for substitutes” when placing the order. She further admitted that 99.9% of orders placed online for Black Friday have not been fullfilled. What was the point of advertising the “online shopping” option, if we werent going to receive what we ordered. Who gives them the right to debit my account for an amount which I did not authorise. This is the worst online shopping experience of my life. I will never shop at Pick ‘n Pay again and have requested a full refund. They have completely misled and ripped people off.

Cashier at till 16 on Monday between 8am and 9am 14/10/2019 didn”t greet me after I greeted her in a very friendly way and humiliated me by loudly asking me if she called me when I approached her till as the last woman finished paying. She was an elderly lady wearing a black cardigan so I couldn”t see her name badge (either she wasn”t wearing it or was hidden behind her jersey). She proceeded to say something to the packing lady about me in a language I don”t speak, who”s name badge said she was Lorraine. I don”t think it”s appropriate to talk to customers like that and I did tell her she was being very rude. I will not be shopping at Pick and Pay Little Falls in the future if this is the attitude of the staff. Thanks

Date of incident, 7th february 2019 time 16h26 Pnp norwood, gauteng Till slip reflects *[protected] Bar code [protected] Cashier, beauty kgabi and packer? This is the 2nd time I have visited pnp norwood, gauteng this month, february 2019, and have left the store exceedingly disappointed by the lack of communication, and rudeness experienced by the teller and packer. No greeting (I have had to repeat myself twice when greeting, to get a reaction) is reciprocated when dealing with either the teller or packer. Also, having tried to assist the packer with packing the heavy items out first, she insisted on packing the heaving items onto the soft items, ie bread? As a suggestion, please could more training be given to both parties, before putting them in line with the customer, as they have absolutely no clue, as to how to deal with a customer in a pleasant and friendly manner. Have they not been trained to be a representative of pnp, which leaves me to feel that they are under-trained or unskilled, or totalling disinterested in dealing with the public in general? Why would I want to return to the norwood store? I would appreciate a response to the above, E) angiet. [protected]@gmail.com

Date: 28th November 2018 Time: 16h00 Standing in a long queue waiting to get to the teller in PnP Liquor. I asked the manager what seemed to be the problem. To be told by the manager, that the teller had gone to the cash office, to get change. I stated that was not acceptable in any store, during peak hours, only to be told, by the manager that he does not have to listen to me and he was going outside to have a cigarette. The other customers were just as shocked at his response as I was. This is totally unacceptable behaviour and I will never be using your store again. Mike Crawford [protected]

Dear Mr Harry Makubhela (manager – Pick a Pay Savannah If possible, when you see the store is busy, kindly get out of your chair and your office and assist where needed. I do not think that only three open paypoints is sufficient to help all customers (plus, might i ad, two of them seems to be in need of training.) I promise you it is not a nice experience when everyone around are complaining about the bad service, and the manager is nowhere to be seen. I have been waiting for more than 30 minutes, while the till operator was busy with one client only, having a conversation without doing her job… there were 5 people in front of me, waiting to pay. The other two cues were just as bad. I eventually left my shopping and went to checkers, where i received service.
Pick n Pay Reviews & Complaints
Dear Pick n Pay I had a horrible shopping experience on the 29th December 2018 around 14h00 – 16h00 of being defrauded by people who were posing as legitimate workers inside the Pick n Pay hypermarket shop in Centurion Lifestyle Centre mall (Pretoria). These people were purportedly doing voucher promotions in the appliance section of the shop. We were discussing (together with my wife) on the possibility of buying a washing machine and then came along a “worker” by the name of Thato and his so-called manager. They informed us that we can actually get the washing machine at a half-price. We were subsequently taken to a Burger King (a restaurant just outside the Pick n Pay mall) to consummate the whole deal. Upon arrival at Burger King, we were introduced to a certain man who was also intending to buy a plasma or LCD television from Pick n Pay. This man gave his bank cards (together with pin codes) and cash to the Thato character and we were psychologically coerced into doing the same under the pretext that this deal was legitimate. I first parted with a R4000-00 cash and then subsequently gave my banking cards (credit and debit) to the Thato character. The idea behind the bank cards as suggested by these people was for them to get a purchase slip at the till for the item(s) purchased and was promised that only R100 would taken out of my bank cards i.e. R50 on my credit and another R50 on my debit. I was then told to wait for the delivery man near Checkers (near the shop) parking lot so that I could guide him to my home to deliver the machine. I left my wife and the kids at Burger King. I waited at this parking lot and unfortunately this was the last time I heard of Thato and his manager. All in all I was robbed of R50 000-00 and I only realized too late that there was money drawn out of my accounts. I do admit I did the most idiotic thing to give away my pin codes but the way these people conduct their business it is easy for any unsuspecting customer to be psychologically coaxed into buying into their proposal. I do not know if Pick n Pay would as procedure reimburse me of my financial loss because this crime started right inside the Pick n Pay store. I have subsequently reported this fraudulent activity on the same day at the Wiedabrug police station (about 6.5 km from the shopping mall) and opened a case for investigation. I am gravely concerned about the level of security inside this shop. How could the security not be able to detect suspicious or unregistered workers accosting customers right inside the shop and not be able to detect this. I hope Pick n Pay management would take this matter seriously since this would mean that many unsuspecting customers could potentially be robbed in this manner and Pick n Pay outlets elsewhere in the country could actually be used by these criminals to defraud customers. Dear Sir I wish to report an incident that happened whilst shopping at your Empangeni Store on Saturday, 17 November 2018. The notice pinned to the shelf stated that your no name brand sliced bacon, 200g had been reduced to R10.00 per packet. I took in total 13 packets and noticed that 3 had stickers stuck to them indicating that the price had indeed been reduced. I re-read the pinned notice to the shelf and was convinced that it indicated that all the 200g diced bacon items had been reduced. At your till we were charged the full price for the bacon packets without the reduced sticker on them. I objected and showed the till operator an image of the notice pinned to the shelf. She called a supervisor who after seeing the notice decided that we will have to pay the full price for the items without the reduced sticker on them. My wife and I objected and those particular items were removed from our trolley and rectified on the till. I then went back to the shelf a took pictures of the shelf and notice in question. I told the till operator and supervisor than this is not the end of this transaction as the amount displayed on the shelf and the amount that we were charged differs completely. We were not taken seriously at any time during this episode. The situation was basically laughed off. There after the supervisor came and removed the notice from the shelf. I wish to attach my till slip to prove that I was at your shop and actually bought diced bacon as mentioned above. I also attach seven scans of the shelf, the notice and a bacon packet of the kind that I had wanted to buy. (Till slip in word therefore not accepted by your complaints system) I am not happy with the way in which this matter was dealt with. The shop was quite busy and this incident caused an unnecessary scene. I decided not to pursue the matter further in the shop, but instead to take it up with senior management, hence referring the matter to you. We hope to hear from you soon. Kind regards Kosie Brits

Dear Sir, I bought four Clover Fruit of the Forest yoghurts at Pick “n Pay, Soneike, Kuilsriver, three of the products had expired, one 09 October 2018 and even worse, the other two 21 and 27 September 2018. Are they allowed to keep expired goods on their shelves and do you visit the shops to see whether the products are OK and not expired. I am not living nearby the shop and now have to go back with the products which is an inconvenience.

Dear Sir/ Madam, Today, I visited PnP at Rosettenville and my purchases amounted to R425.00. By the way the first plastic packet that the teller issued to put my light goods ( two bars of face soap and a 1kg Castor sugar tore there and there). Fortunately, whilst I was in the shop. Where”s the quality? Even street vendors who issue free packets seem to have a better quality. On finalisation of payment, I asked the teller where my promotional animal card collection was. She told me she had none. I asked when I could get them. she referred me to a counter. At the counter was a man because of his age, I imagined he would be someone in charge. I told him the matter. He told me that they don”t have any. I then asked that if I came back another time with my receipt could I then get my cards. He said no because they don”t know when cards would be sold. The irony at that moment was that they were at that moment retrieving copies of collectors book to sell but they have no accompanying cards. I then stated that I had specifically come to PnP because of the promotion. Should reverse my purchases so that I can go elsewhere. Yes why don”t you do that was the response. This is how customers are taken for granted. I asked where the him politely and calmly where supervisor was. He asked me why I asking for such. I then asked whether he was the supervisor. He was talking to a colleague next to him in the interim in a language other than English or Afrikaans. when the man wanted to know what I wanted. He then told me that I better leave with his body language letting me know that trouble was about to ensue maybe physically and verbally abusive. Being wiser, I left the shop without any fuss. However, I must add that I have overlooked many inadequacies of this PnP like general lack of cleanliness and tidiness. Recently, I had purchased packaged avocadoes amounting to R35. I could not eat a single one. I reported this and stated my concern about a product that should have been used for fertilizer or animal fodder. I am sure that the animals at the zoo eat even a far better quality than the avocados that were put on the shelves without any shame. At another PnP outlet not too long ago, I purchased PnP 8kg dog food. Twice the packet split at the counter with contents spewing out. I left there with no apology for the inconvenience and embarrassment I had suffered in front of other customers. Shame on you PnP x 1000 times Shame on you PnP. As for aggression, intimidation, disgusting poor and sub grade and pathetic arrogant people skills and lack of accountability. Here I rest my case

Dear Sir/Madam I would like to express my dissatisfaction at the poor quality of packing the lamb bulk packs. I have bought these packs a number of times and have found that there are 3 reasonable pieces of meat for curry with something like 6 chops and below those they have packed mostly the ribs which are fatty pieces of meat. This is totally unacceptable as these lamb packs are not cheap at all! Please can you look into this and ensure that you don”t compromise on the quality of your lamb packs.

Emailed paul marsh pick n pay divisional manager groceries at 9.30am wednesday 20 march with regards to my rights being violated in canal walk (Racist motivation) my email to him is as follows: now awaiting quick response & feedback! I’m having endless problems with pick n pay canal walk and I now come to you for assistance! We have rights and to have rude uncouth managers violate our rights we must stand up together! Imagine marwaan, the store manager, said i’m no longer welcome in his store (Is it because i’m indian?)- all I did was stand up 4 my rights – he was so cold! Gulwinaaz made harsh statements to me to which I had to defend myself! Need a reason as to why a pick n pay employee squashed the barcode in front of me – is that good business practice? The next day I was banned from the store by marwaan who wasn’t even present during the incident! So guys if you want to be insulted and treated like crap then please visit the canal walk store! You too might be banned or not welcome for standing up for your rights! The saying goes if you can’t handle the heat get out of the kitchen! Marwaan if your store can’t handle the scamright policy remove it! We to have our consumer rights so if pick n pay doesn’t want our business, don’t value us! Then why support canal walk! I was shocked when the pick n pay employee squashed the barcode not to honour promises and managers are rude & arrogant! Can’t believe in a democratic country when a person defends himself when he’s being defamed he gets banned! That’s what happened to me in pick n pay canal walk! Remember human rights day 21 march! I tried to resolve this issue with pick n pay but to no avail. Gulwinaaz made harsh statements to me to which I had to defend myself! Need a reason as to why a pick n pay employee squashed the barcode in front of me – is that good business practice? The next day I was banned from the store by marwaan who wasn’t even present during the incident! Need a justified reason as I have the right to defend myself! Pick n pay needs to change their scanright policy to state after the purchase… And not at the time of purchase… Don’t fool us the general public! My last posting is as follows: Sorry get facts straight! I wasn’t screaming at your staff, I was being accused and obviously going to defend myself! Can gulwinaaz back her statements? I also was in a state of shock when I saw a pick n pay employee squash the barcode! I was banned for defending myself, marwaan wasn’t even there, and consumer cape town got back to me to contact human rights! Take legal action i’m prepared, I have my lawyers too! Read scanright policy: at the time of purchase…, doesn’t read after the purchase! Squashing barcode, falsely accusing customer with empty statements that can’t be backed up and banned for what? Its fine for gulwinaaz to defame and you think ill sit quietly! Don’t think i’m mad! Pick n pay had their wish, banned me so accept my replies! I have rights! Legal terms read scanright! Squashing barcodes? Banned by marwaan who wasn’t there for defending myself! I will not take this insult lightly and will fight 4 justice by creating public awareness and joining hands with the general public who experienced crap service at canal walk! Canal walk is the most disorganised store ever! Pick n pay managers are rude especially gulwinaaz so guys don’t shop there as they got no respect and treat u like crap! Imagine staff there squashes barcodes not to honour promises and managers make statements to the customers that they don’t shop there, so we like some piece of dirt! What nerve? What attitude? Would u want to shop in canal walk where u treated like dirt? Scamright states at the time of purchase, not after the purchase! Please teach gulwinaaz the english language, god knows what managers canal walk got who doesn’t understand the english language! Trust me its not higher grade! Being a manager simple things you must be able to understand and most importantly u must have ethics! I was humiliated again today wednesday 13 march 2013. At 2pm I came across usn box with a paper bacode r329 (Barcodes corresponded), when I went to the till it scanned r299! I immediately took the cashier at till 15 to the exact barcode as dilwinaaz previously said that the cashier must remove the barcode! Then another pick n pay employer rudely pulled out the barcode and squashed it in front of me the customer! Is that ethics? Imagine that’s what canal walk employees does rude, no ethics. Dilwinaaz was called who offered no help! She as a manager made a statement that I never buy from pick n pay and I make use of scanright! Please also check camera footage for tuesday 12 march 2013 at 4pm where I purchased pyrex bowls and few other item for r488 (Card) and thereafter r80 cash! To make that statement is demeaning and I demand action! What kind of manager is that to make such harsh cold statements? Its pick n pay scamright policy! Marwaan must put his money where his mouth is and view camera footage wed 2.00-2.30pm and sort this issue out! Scanright states at the time of purchase, not after the purchase! Please explain this simple english to rude dilwinaaz! I need feedback asap today at 12:28am aashil maharaj scamright! Pic n pay! Why squash barcodes if nothing to hide! Pic n pay canal walk is up to no good! Gulwinazz, manager actually questions customer! Check my worth! No ethics, camera footage marwaan promised? Where is it? Talk is cheap, that’s pic n pay canal walk – more mouth less action! What scamright policy is this? Up to no good! Please remove scamright policy! What a joke! Make false allegations against me to sweep pick n pay’s lack of integrity under the carpet is not going to resolve this problem! If you make statements that I was abusive on various occasions which is not founded, bring proof to the table! Why was I banned the following day?, why wasn’t I warned previously on the so called various occasions that I was abusive? Remember pick n pay is defaming me and that’s ok but when I share my horrific experience then its not ok? Where’s the logic? I have posted many complaints on hello peter, getclosure, complaintsboard and complaintsforum! Google pick n pay canal walk and view! My latest will feature on whale cottage on friday! I feel this is a racist attack and to resolve this issue I want: A written apology Vouchers welcoming me back to the store as I was banned unjustly Compensation for defamation and damages suffered! And change scanright policy to state after the purchase… And not at the time of purchase! Thanking you A maharaj

Feb 2017-Pick n Pay Malvern- Queensburgh-advertised Bonaqua Pump Still Mineral water 6X750ml for R 38.90. They didn”t have stock on the 22nd Feb 2017 so I took 6 bottles and was billed R R59.34 for six. Uncovered when reached home and went back the following sat and I was told that I needed to return with bottles. Visited them again on 02 March 2017 and Manager walked away without addressing concern. The consultant informed us that they are unable to reimburse us as it was not taken as a pack???. We bought 6X750ml and was not charged as advertised…Furthermore Pick n Pay did not have stock of the packs on the day… I request a refund of the overcharged amount and who reimburses us for the travel expenses to and from Pick n Pay? Few weeks ago I bought the new Pick & Pay brand chicken strips, nuggets and pies. It was absolutely horrible. The pies would not even rise in the oven same with the strips and nuggets. I dont know why it was changed to Pick & Pay brand but it not nice at all especially the pies. I bought six of them in frozen box but had to throw them away. I spend over R200.00 a week on chicken strips, nuggets and pies at Pick & pay for my daughter but will not buy the Pick & Pay brand again. It is a waste of my money and time. I cooked the strips and nuggets for the kids but not even they wanted to eat it which meant I had to get rid of it, money down the drain!!!I lodged a complaint with the call centre a while ago but the person was of no use and just ignored my complaint!!!. I think it is highly unprofessional and unsatisfying and I am considering going to Checkers rather than Pick & Pay although I have always bought from Pick & Pay.

For the second time in less than a year, I found a block of cheese full of mould in the cheese fridge at Pick n Pay Franschhoek. It”s so full of mould that they might as well sell it as mould with a little bit of cheese. I attached two photos. It”s also the pick n pay brand of cheese that is mouldy for the second time. How can you keep that on the shelf with all the other cheese? That”s disgusting. Franschhoek has more than enough staff to deal with products starting to go off and this cheese must have started to go mouldy more than a week ago I will now find another supermarket to shop at.

For the second time, on a Saturday mid-day, I wanted to exchange an empty crate of Lion Lager quarts at Waterstone for a refill. Apparently, only the manager can credit the reurned crate. The previous occasion, no manager was present in-store. I had to wait 20+ minutes for the staff to track him/her down to return to the store, and another 10 minutes for the till staff to work out what they had to do with bits of paper that were faded and useless. Same thing today, except after waiting 10 minutes for the manager to be found, I reclaimed my empty crate and went to shop elsewhere. For some reason, I believe that someone managing a store should be there to manage the store. I understand there are toilet/tea/smoke breaks, but then appoint an understudy who can fulfill the role! And train the staff to perform their functions! It is completely unreasonable to expect your customers to waste 25 minutes just to purchase some beer (Management 101). I will never bother to shop there again.

For three times in last couple of months, while the online payment processing seems to go through, there is no delivery, and when I then follow up with their customer service call centre, they tell me the payment was not processed, or that their choice of payment service prociders stated that the credit card details provided were invalid, although they had initially verified them. Main thing is that since some of us are disabled, we can’t just pop out to the shops if someone like Pick ‘n Pay doesn’t follow up on orders that they initially confirmed, and, since I have been using the same credit card details successfully for a while, and, don’t make mistakes often when supplying details, I have repeatedly told them they need to make use of a different payment processing service provider, and, also make more of an effort to, at the very least notify you if there was an issue with payment processing, instead of just telling you that it wasn’t their fault. In other words, they shouldn’t mention, or make use of the term ‘customer service’ when they provide the opposite thereof at times

Good Afternoon About 3 weeks ago myself and my sisters were entering Pick & Pay Ottery when i walked past their fruit and veg section. Here i saw the Store Manager, Miguel Ferreira shouting at one of his staff members as if it was just the 2 of them in the store. I was absolutely shocked and disgusted to say the least, here was Management shouting at one of his staff members as if this guy was the worst piece of crap around, entirely obvlious to the customers in the shop. I, myself am in a management position and I have never disrespected one of my people like that and i couldn”t believe the gall of the man. I walked away extremely upset but as i got to the meat area at the back of the store, here was Miguel Ferreira standing and shouting at a staff member manning the fresh fish counter. I stood there incredulous at this man”s audacity and actually went to a staff member and asked his name and surname. About 3 or 4 staff members came walking fast around one of the aisle”s with absolute fear written all over their faces because as i could make out from their nerves chatter, “they were scared he was going to shout at them too”. I cannot reiterate enough as to how disgusted i was. Your staff looked like stray dogs who were sure that the animal shelter was going to come and catch them and bundle them off to the shelter. If this is the kind of Management you have Managing your staff, you as Pick & Pay should be ashamed of yourselves. A giant Conglomorate who cannot employ humane people to manage their staff…I am hoping that with this mail you will take drastic steps to correct your Management”s behaviour because that could have been my son that was so verbally attacked by a Senior and I promise you I would not have left it at a simple complaint. That was an experience i will never forget and am not even sure i would ever want to support a Pick & Pay again, and I might be one person out of millions who buys from yourselves but remember it is one person who could have made a difference to your turnover, no matter how meagre. Good afternoon Below is the mail I received on the 19th of April 2018 – further to this I also got an email with the same message HOWEVER – I decided to do my monthly shop at Pick & Pay William Moffatt on Friday 20 April 2018 After spending R1 797.00 in your shop I got to the till and was told after the moneys were taken off my bank account that I get R50.00 off my NEXT shop!! How does this work – my next purchase after the 19th of April 2018 WAS ON 20 APRIL 2018. They called a manager, but he did not seem to get this either and forced me to buy something else to get my R50.00 off. I think this is FALCE advertising and a sneaky way of P & P to get their customers to spend more and more money I will not be shopping at P & P every again and I will be going onto social media with this as I am sure that I am not the only person that got cheated by P & P Heidi [protected] Your Smart Shopper Statement as at 16/04/2018 Card number: [protected] Rand value: R1.03 Points expiring 1 May: 0 Dear Heidi, You”ve been asking for more cash-off vouchers and we”ve heard you. Good Afternoon, I trust this email finds you well. When the screen on the till said congratulations you have won. It was shocking and everyone turns to look, I did see your adds and newsletters about this promotion but didn’t really bother as I didn’t think we would win. Well today we did and guess how much… a BIG WHOLE ONE CENT. I’m not writing this because I want to win or wanted to win but why would you do that to people get them excited and drop them a whole one cent later. I think you should remove that whole one cent from your promotion as it is really disheartening and embarrassing. You spoilt our afternoon as we didn’t expect anything and then couldn’t understand why would pick n pay do something like that. Even the manager and assistant apologised to us cos they felt embarrassed. Thank you for your one cent and for our embarrassing moment. I have lost all respect for Pick n Pay and maybe even my business as well!!! Regards Lynton and Priya

Good Day I am feeling very frustrated as I drove all the way to Brackenfell, (I am based in Kensington/Maitland), pnp supermarket. As I saw on pnp catalogue the r100 deals on internet. It state that you get 2 times 12 castle beers for r100. When I got there they advised me that it was an error. I wasted petrol and my time. I feel that they should have given it to me for that price as it is not my fault that pnp had made such an error. Very dissappointed!!! SF Jacobs

Good day I am highly upset in the last 3 months I have purchased 4 pairs of shoes from Pick n pay clothing in City view Durban. I purchased the first pair in august sometime I wore them a day or 2 and my feet kept slipping out of them they were a size 5. I thought after wearing them 2 or 3 times they would stretch and my foot would be able to stay in the shoe. I then thought I would give those to my sister as she is also a 5 and I went and bought a size 6 thinking maybe i will have better luck with a bigger size, lone and behold same thing. I think I have worn them twice to see if they would stretch and nothing they now just sit in my cupboard collecting dust. You cannot even walk in them. I did send in a email which I am battling to find to the complaints department but I cant seem to find it anyway I never heard back from pick n pay. I once again did what I wasn”t going to do and that was purchase more shoes from pick n pay clothing. I went and bought a pair of pumps and another pair of sandals from pick n pay probably two weeks back, pumps are fine but once again sandals are a problem, the one foot was stretched more than the other which wasn”t to bad but now they literally fall off my feet as I am walking not only that there is a long piece of metal coming out the shoe… After two weeks that should not be happening they have not even been worn everyday. I just cannot win with pick n pay sandals and have just had such bad luck… I love the clothes and shoes at pick n pay but if I am not going to get any feedback out of this I will be sure to never purchase another thing from any of your shops. Im sorry but I do not and cannot afford to be wasting my hard earned money on shoes that last me two weeks or not even just collecting dust in my cupboard cause they cannot be worn.

Good day I have been buying breakfast from this store for the last 4 months or so and must say that it is very convenient. I previously complained when Thabiso was the manager and for a while it went better, but now it has gone beyond repair. When they have toasted sandwiches, the price labels do not indicate what the filling is – this creates a health risk as people with allergies can fall foul of a product. Today it was worse: there was no sandwiches and the deli staff said that they are trainees and have not been trained so no take-aways are available!?! There were 5 pies in the display oven, but these were old and cold. Then I called the manager, Maureen and now I understood why the place is dying. She sits in the back office and do not know what is happening in the store. When I asked her about the toasted sandwiches, she told me that I can have the cold sandwiches in the fridge. Now that is service! I also noticed that a cashier sent another customer back to the deli counter as the cashier does not have the code for the coffee. In the fridge, you have those wonderful PnP marinated chicken flatties. In this store you can buy ones of which the vacuum seal plastic has blown up like a balloon – but I am sure that Maureen is on top of what is happening. I am a loyal SmartShopper – but this store needs a serious intervention to bring it to PnP standard. Please help. Charl

good day I just had a problem with a lady at pick n pay at Tokai Junction firstly the lady helping me was very grumpy and i was paying two separate transactions. The first sale went well, now on the second sale i paid with R20.00 for a loaf of bread the lady gave me a change of R1.10 and i asked “how much is the bread lady” she told me to check my slip with a rude attitude if how much is the bread then i told her i gave you R20 then she told me to wait she will check THEN SHE CALLED THE NEXT CUSTOMER and i was standing and waiting. When she was done she gave me my change i asked her to apologize for keeping me there she just looked at me as i am CRAZY i don”t know its because im black or what but i dont like the way she treated me and her name is Ejodia Ceror
Pick n Pay Reviews & Complaints
Good day I purchase I loaf of bread last night at the Pick n Pay express in Cascades, this morning while making lunch for my son I noticed that the bread had turned green on the sides and when I looked at the expiry date it was the 30/08/2019.I called the store today and spoke to the owner who was of no help instead of rectifying this she was more concerned about defending her store and insisting that the bread is not from her shelf and was quiet rude stating she will buy a loaf of bread from her own pocket and replace it but will not apologise for the rotten bread. I am a regular at that store and garage and to be treated in this manner is disgusting its not about replacing a product its about the moral behind it you shelved bad bread have the decency to apologise.
