It’s painful to have your family and loved ones being away from you when they are serving time, but it’s nothing when compared to the agony you go through when someone dupes you based on your emotional vulnerability. And Pigeonly does exactly this. The company asks for your credit card information, and once you give it to them, it does not matter if you use their service or not, there will always be random charges on your account that you will not have any clue about. I had registered with them to send family photos to a friend serving time for the last seven or eight months. It felt so good to be able to keep them in touch with everything. I also used it for a couple of calls. But then, when I checked my bills, they seemed to have charged me for double the times I had used their service. This was 2 months into using their service. I called them up and they said it must have been a mistake and refunded me the amount. I did not mind this as it could have been a genuine mistake, but I was not to be fooled and did keep a check on my bills and usage. And nothing happened for a month. But again, the next month, the bill seemed to be for much more than what I had used. I knew this could not be a mistake, and even if it was, then they don’t seem to be responsible enough with someone’s credit card details. I called them up, got my refund and got out of their system. I am still checking for any charges on my card from their system to make sure it does not happen again. Such a shame, the concept of business was so good.
