As an American I do not know much about Northern Ireland hotel chains, therefore before booking I did some research. I decided to go with what appeared to be a well established brand that had many chains of hotels. Premier Inn seemed to be the perfect match. Oh how wrong I was!!! when arriving at the hotel in Derry/London Derry I was disappointed to find out that the hotel wasn”t anywhere near the city centre despite the website describing it as so, and I had to pay for a taxi just to get into town and see some sights! Not only this, but the room was cramped and dark with an uncomfortable bed. After a terrible nights sleep, I ventured to find the famous good value Premier Inn breakfast only to be further disappointed! the “hot” buffet was actually cold and I was eating at 9am, I felt sorry for this that came down any later! one thing I will say is that the staff were the most friendly bunch, recommending taxi companies and sights to go and see. They were only positive to this hotel.
