Most frustrating process to cancel an auto-ship! The Customer Noservice number is automated and puts you in a never ending loop of “sure, I can help you with that… Would did you know you can change your shipping date, number of bottles… etc. etc. etc.” Until you finally give up. Never given an option to speak with a live person. Then when you call the order line, you have to listen to another recording for too long, then get a live operator who asks you 23 questions to make sure you know who you are.
Finally if you take the 12 minutes to explain what you want to do, they tell you customer noservice is at lunch – call back later!!! Hell with that – I want someone to cancel my auto-ship NOW! That gets you in the 18-minute queue to speak with someone who has to identify you AGAIN and then wants to know how the product is working for you. Are you serious??!?!? Just CANCEL the damn ORDER!! Geez!
Jahn Levin, Please Read
The vast majority of the negative reviews for Purity Products are complaints about shipment cancellations/errors on your auto shipments. There is one very simple remedy: send out an email four to five days before shipment date forwarning the customer with a simple online page where the customer can postpone the shipment to a future date, cancel it, or be very excited their vitamins are arriving soon. No need to talk to a representative. But you don’t offer that. I have cancelled my account many times because your company does not offer this option. And I have come back because your vitamins are very good. Now, Mr. Levin, I am leaving for good.
Purity Products is not customer-centric. You believe it better to have your customers go through frustrating phone calls to remedy a delivery rather than offer a simple remedy to manage their auto shipments online. Under your leadership, your company has the reputation of being mercenary. Again, this is its only flaw. Your products are very good. But with the business model you believe in, better to have their cash rather than their loyalty, you have ruined an otherwise decent corporation.
Sent Wrong Product Because They Are Out of Ingridents
I sent for Perfect Multi Essentials (59.00) because it has lots of good ingredients for the eyes. I was sent instead Perfect Multi (39.00) plus a sample I didn’t ask for because they say they are out of ingredients, most reputable companies back order when that is the case. I like the products, but I don’t like their business practices. Tomorrow I will file a report on Yelp, and the Better Business Bureau. I didn’t realize they were taking advantage of so many people.
Good Product - Stranglehold Recurring Shipments!!
I’ve used various of Purity Products vitamins and supplements, found them to be of good quality and have noticeable benefits. But if you sign up for recurring shipments to get the best pricing, you cannot put shipping on hold if you need to, only space it out more. So you have to “manage” the timing so you don’t get product before you want. Who has time for that??? If you want to cancel the recurring shipping, you can’t do it online (you can manage other details of the shipping online). You have to call in to cancel.
An annoyance at the least, and you will be subjected to another sales job “in your interest” because apparently you’re not bright enough to know when you don’t want something. That’s the official company justification, though not worded quite like that.
UPSELL
I contacted Purity Products by way of radio ad. I told them in no uncertain terms did I want to be added to the “SuperSaver” promo. I only wanted to try the product for $4.95 shipping and handling. The operator assured me that I would not be billed later for any auto delivery products. I haven’t even received the product yet but I will not order from them again because they seem shady. I really don’t trust this so I will be cancelling my credit card information.
Same Old Crap
Was initially skeptical and THEY confirmed it! You try it, they bill you BEFORE the 30 trial is over and then YOU WAIT to see IF you get your $$ back.
Purity Is Unethical Period. Very Hard to Cancel Subscription, Company Kept Charging My Card After Cancellation.
I did one of those two week trial things, and BIG MISTAKE. I should’ve known better, but they have an A+ BBB rating lol, and seem to run a legit business but once again I was wrong. After I cancelled within the two weeks, I was still charged $180 that I had to dispute, they did pick up their phone and seemed to address the issue so I’ll give them credit for that. BUT a business that will knowingly scam customers hoping they can get one over or some people won’t notice is NOT a business people should support!
Signed Up for Products I Did Not Authorize, Cannot Reach Live Agents.
I responded to an advertisement I heard on the radio, while I was driving to work one morning last month, which said I could get 2 free bottles of supplements, and only need to pay for the shipping charges, which I did stupidly. I was not interested in being signed up for repeated/recurring orders of this product, and believe I made that clear during the phone call, but they just took $189.08 out of my checking account for more of the products.
I contacted them, no mean feat in itself, and shockingly managed to get a human being, and not an automated robot to answer the phone, who assured me that the order was canceled, even giving me a cancellation number. Still, the money was taken from my bank, so I called back, and again managed to get in touch with a person, and not a robot, after a 25 minute wait on hold, and they said they would try to stop it from shipping out from the warehouse, but were not certain they could catch it before it left. They agreed to the refund, and also gave me a refund confirmation number, asking me to call back and check up on this matter at a later time.
So, I tried to this morning check up on it, but was not able to reach a live representative, even though they claim to have Saturday office hours. Instead, I was forced to sit through the easily 10-minute long routine from the robotic answering system, before being transferred to the ridiculous hold queue. This did not work the same this time, as I was prepared for a OUTRAGEOUSLY long hold to speak to someone, instead I get a recorded message about technical difficulties that their engineers are working hard to correct, GOODBYE.
Be Carefull
DO NOT order from Purity Products ever. Number one, the Joint Formula-SS doesn’t work at all. Completely useless product for a big money. They will catch you on subscription, which you never did. You will be advised to call after your “free trial” to cancel your order. You are expecting the only one order to receive. But they will continue to charge your credit card without your authorization and ship you the product that do not work. Save this money for something you enjoy. I called them and asked for the return label. They refused to accept a return. I called my Amex for chargeback. Be careful.
Dishonest Lying Ripoff Fraudulent Company
I ordered vitamins advertised on TV on 2/24/2019 for $4.95 mailing charge for sample free bottle shipping charge only! I never received the free bottle. I talked to numerous reps who are all scripted to give you the runaround, receive no product, take your money & then refuse to refund. They cashed my money $4.95 on 2/24/2019 immediately & then removed the money again on 3/4/2019 while I was at Troy, PA C&N Bank in front of my customer service rep to verify removal of my money from my account which they denied on 3/29/2019. I spoke to “darren” & “joe”. This dishonest technique originating from Purity Products, 200 Terminal Drive, Plainview, NY 11803 makes millions of USD & must be stopped at all costs by gov agencies.
Fraud
SHADY BUSINESS!!! BUYER BEWARE!!! Elderly beware! Anyone who is not willing to stay on top of this company’s shenanigans BEWARE! Once you order from this company, you are on the hook. This is a CON company!!! They fraudulently charged my credit card and continued to send out products despite the fact that I had written communication emails -written and sent- within the timeframe of my cancellation period.
Then when I went back to demand my refund, I was given runaround after runaround. The first time they said they did not yet receive the package. This was at least two weeks after I returned it. Then I called back three weeks later giving them ample time to refund me, the customer service representative gave me extensive runaround and when I told him I was recording the call and I asked him the question point blank, “Are you or are you not refunding my money?” He stuttered paused and hung up on me. Subsequent phone call later, I was able to learn that my package was indeed received and they would look into a refund. At this point I have not been refunded. #purityproducts
Trying to Stop Auto Ship
I called back in June because I was charged $163.65 and it had been over two weeks and the product was not received. I told them then that I did not want it because I had not received it. They said I could send it back. But I could not get them to authorize it to be returned. I called today because they again charge my card $109.80. When I called the customer service number again I was told there was nothing he could do. That I could refuse the delivery and I should get a refund on my account. This is not customer service in my mind.
They Would Not Cancel the Autoship
Purity Products is a company I will never buy from again! Their customer service is great when you go to order but when you try to cancel or stop your orders it’s totally a different story. I ordered Green Tea and they talked me into also trying B-12. They told me I could cancel all future order as long as I called within 2 weeks. I called exactly 2 weeks and I was bounced around on hold for about 20-30 minutes.
They told me they couldn’t stop the shipment or credit my card. I asked to talk to a supervisor. He told me he should be able to cancel because he saw the order had not been shipped yet or even the label printed yet. He told me he would call me back and he never did. I received an email saying my order was canceled later that day. I received another shipment 4 days later.
When I called again I was on hold for at least 20 minutes even though I had the supervisor’s extension number. They told me that future orders were canceled but not the order that I was already charged for! As far as the products… they did not do anything for me that’s why I wanted to cancel all future orders. I didn’t know it would take so much time, effort and aggravation just to return a product. In the meanwhile… they have my money.
Beware of This Company
I was lied to by the representative I ordered from. I repeatedly asked not to be sent another product, until I had tried it for myself and gave an ok for them to do so. Of course he agreed, but I am still getting auto ship and more than 85.00 deducted from my bank account. I tried to fix this today, only to deal with a confusing robotic answering machine, then I had to ask for a live person. This person, was rude and talked over me. I still am not sure if this situation has been resolved, since I do not trust them.
Unauthorized Credit Card Charge
Purity Products charged my card July 4th, 2017. I canceled all future orders with them in March 2017. When I called this morning a representative Katheryn said they couldn’t cancel because the order shipped out yesterday. I told her yesterday was a legal holiday and it couldn’t of shipped. Katheryn was rude and started to argue with me and said there was nothing she could do. I asked to speak with a supervisor and was disconnected. I called back and spoke with Courtney who transferred me to Brandy. Brandy also said there is nothing they can do, they need to review the tapes from March.
This company will stop at nothing to shove vitamins down your throat. I called Visa to find out how they had access to a new card of mine and Visa said they are a subscriber to software that can access new card information for any customer. This company is pathetic and they need to review the tapes of the conversation from today and terminate their rude employees. This company prides themselves on customer service by being rude and processing unauthorized charges and refuses to credit. Terrible and illegal.
Bad Customer Service
I have been a customer for years and I fired them as my supplement supplier. I sent a over order back that I was billed for and they claim they cannot track it so I lose. Do yourself a favor and buy at your local suppliers instead of storing products that you may be slow to use. I am flawed. All the products I purchased from them and got the door slammed on my face. Buyer beware. They send it you own it.
Sent Unauthorized Automatic Shipment
For the last few years I had been managing my mother’s and my sister’s Purity Products accounts. Neither of them really take the product anymore, but wanted me to keep their options open for later and preserve their pricing (which you only get if you are on auto-ship). Purity wouldn’t let me suspend the auto shipments, so I had to move the shipping date every 3 months. In the beginning I had to call in and talk to a representative to do this… a hassle… and then later I changed the date online. My shipping date was August 5th and I went online on July 28th and moved the date ahead as usual.
This morning I was awoken by my bank telling me I was overdrawn. I don’t keep much money in that account, but I knew I wasn’t overdrawn. I went online and saw that Purity had sent my order even though I had changed the date. When I contacted a representative (and then a supervisor) they said I hadn’t changed the date and they sent out almost $130 worth of products. They offered me 25% off or a shipping label to send it back. All fine and dandy, but that means a refund weeks from now and no reimbursement of the $70 bank fee they caused.
I usually take a screen shot of every time I move the date but this time I didn’t. Of course… they told me that their system tells them when someone logs in and it didn’t show that in July. Well, if that’s the case how come only one of the orders shipped, my mom’s, and the other order, my sister’s, was accurately canceled????? Sorry guys, that one obviously doesn’t fly. So anyhow… I finally got them to cancel my accounts and they are sending me a return postage. Refund hopefully to follow in a few WEEKS (If not I will post it here). SOL on the bank charges.
Told them I would review the company – they didn’t care – so here it is for what it’s worth. Just remember folks, any company that lures you in with a free sample and then requires you to do auto-shipments is usually not reputable and you WILL get sent something you don’t want sooner or later. Save yourself a lot of hassle, and possibly bank fees – go down to a good health food store and buy what you need, when you need it. I have no indication that their products are superior to anyone else, or that their prices are better. Save the hassle, the unwanted shipments and possibly the bank fees.
Cannot Cancel Automatic Shipments
I have an account with these folks, but was shocked to discover that I CANNOT cancel the SuperSaver automatic orders on-line AT ALL. Even when calling into their frustrating automated customer service line, all the options are to change delivery dates, or quantities, etc… No way to cancel, except remaining on hold for a person. After waiting on hold for 10 minutes, the guy kept selling the product. Asking me how I used it, when I last used it. Kept telling me how much it would help my health.
Basically, kept arguing with me, about my decision to cancel. Unbelievable! I had to additionally wait on hold after all this ‘discussing,’ to get a confirmation number. Then he came back telling me his ‘supervisor’ wanted to extend a free offer for another product. I got another 3 different sales pitches before I was finally granted a cancellation number. Absolutely ridiculous! Avoid at any price.
Purposely Make It Difficult to Cancel Automatic Shipping
It is almost impossible to cancel their automatic shipping/billing. You can tell it’s a scam when: You send them an email, and they tell you can’t cancel by email – why not? You can’t cancel by calling the “order” number – why not? The only way you can cancel is by calling the “customer service number”. The automated customer service system will allow you change your automatic shipping quantity, etc, but it won’t let you cancel. For this you have to speak to a “customer service rep”. I was on the phone for 15 minutes before anyone picked up. I’m sure this delay is purposeful also.
The customer service representative wouldn’t stop talking – told me all sorts of BS: account was fully customizable (who cares?). Told me they just wanted to make sure that I got all the CO-Q10 I needed, and since it was a “natural” product I may need more than the free 30 day supply for it to take effect. I said no thanks. Then began all the other offers and discounts. I had to be rude, and said I want to cancel and I don’t want to buy anything! This is the worst high pressure, dishonest experience I’ve ever had with Internet/Mail Order products. My advice is don’t do business with these people.
SCAM! Once They Have Your Credit Card Number, You'll See All Kinds of Unauthorized Charges!
Like everyone else, I heard the “free” offer on the radio. The products sounded good so I called to order (April 2014), knowing there was a $4.95 shipping charge. I was informed of future automatic shipments for the same product and a $49.95 charge, but I figured I’d deal with that once I got to try the product. After 2 weeks, I hadn’t had a chance to really try the product like I wanted, so I phoned them and canceled any future shipments. Everything seemed great… until I noticed an unauthorized charge a few months later for $49.95 to Alpha Clean. I had no idea what this was, so called my credit card company to dispute the charge.
Two month later, I noticed another unauthorized charge of $49.95 to workoutdaily.com, so I again called my credit card company to dispute that charge. While combing through my bills, the representative also found a $49.95 charge from the previous month that I had not caught – to raspberryhealth.com.
Now the pattern of the scam was obvious, and as we sought to take action against the fraud, yet ANOTHER charge of $49.91 appeared from something called Simple2Pay. The Credit card company immediately closed my account and set me up with a new credit card number. So beware people – Purity is like an octopus with many tentacles on its arms and you won’t even know what got you! SCAM! SCAM!!!
Cancelling The Supersaver Is Worse Than Doing Your Taxes!
Ok… I tried their product for free and was automatically signed up for the super saver program which I was aware of this fact before I ordered. I tried the product and was not thrilled with it, thought it was too expensive for the benefits. Called and tried to cancel. Was given employee pricing which I hate when you have to call to cancel to get the best deal. That tells me their prices are way TOO high to begin with. You cannot cancel on-line, you cannot cancel by email, you cannot leave a message. So I was on hold for 15 minutes before I could talk to someone.
Then I spoke with a Jeremy. He sounded like he was about to cry when I declined his 3 offers he gave me. Then after he got the authorization number from his supervisor, he read it off to me like he was pissed off. I will be watching my statement closely! Really hate companies that treat you like crap when you want to cancel.
They Say" You Get a Free Trial, Pay for Shipping Only" That's Just So They Can Reel You In
They said they were giving out a free trial offer – if you liked it you could make future orders. But to receive the trial, you only have to pay for the shipping. How dare they!! The method they use here is to get a hold of your credit card number. They took my credit card and ordered numerous amounts of their product that I did not approve!! And debited my account for something I didn’t even order. When I tried to cancel no one would pick up for a long time – 24/7 hour service is just an answering machine. I tried to delete my credit card information and cancel this order and their online site would not let me do neither!!!
SHAME ON THE RADIO STATIONS FOR ADVERTISING THEIR PRODUCT. People are sick and looking for alternative methods hoping they will get some relief of their illnesses with these products. Tired of getting prescription medicines that are toxic to our bodies from doctors who won’t take the time to fix the root of the problem but only to cover up the symptoms. People are really sick!! It’s sad that professionals take advantage of the weak and who are hopeful…
I Was Not Told The Truth
I ordered green tea and had a free bottle, which I had to pay $4.95 shipping and in two weeks when I get my order I can cancel. I received the bottles September 13th and I had a doctor’s appointment September 14 and I went to see my drs. He saw the bottles and he said I cannot take them and he threw them away so when I gotten home I called and I knew had 2 weeks to cancel.
So I called and talked to a sales representative which he was nasty. I told him my bank statement and it has a charge for those bottles of tea. I was lied and when I told him I want my money back on my card he told me something that I was not getting it back and that’s how the company works. I will keep writing and I will find others this has happen to and we will get a lawsuit for this company.
A Little Bit of Bait and a Whole Lot of Switch
Here is what these people do. They offer a “Free Sample Bottle” where you only pay for shipping and handling for $4.95. Then when you call in, you discover that the bottle is enough for…. 15 days!!! Not even enough of the product to enable the buyer to do a trial equal to the time frames they presented in their radio pitch. Soooo when I asked to buy a second bottle so I could actually purchase have enough product to do a fair test, they quoted an astronomical price and would only offer the product at a normal price if I committed to their quarterly shipping program where you have to buy $125 worth at a time.
“But I just want to buy enough extra of the product to do the test which you want me to do…!” “Sorry but to actually receive that much of the product you have to sign up for our quarterly auto ship, or pay $2 a day!!!” I was so surprised at the utter stupidity of their marketing reasoning that I decided to write this and call my station.
Hey Purity, you just spent the precious goodwill that you advertised, promoted and spent money to earn. A new client calls in…. what an opportunity to have someone pick up the phone wanting to give a fair trial to your product (and your company) and then… you blew it. Instead of making it easy for people to fairly try it out, you instead immediately want to expand the sale and sink a deep long term hook. Shame on you!
Complaining Unable to Cancel Autoship and They Overdrafted Me!!
I ordered ‘free trial’ product, paid nominal shipping fee. Then, I called to cancel ‘autoship’ and could not navigate thru the myriad of prompts in the auto-system; unable to get a person on the phone. Auto system said next delivery would be November, so I figured I had ample time to try to get a person on the phone, or perhaps I would actually enjoy the product by then and want to be on autoship… Just had no money this month. They hit my account for $125 and I got text alert from bank that my account was overdrawn, and THAT fee is $36.
The check I wrote to school for my son’s lunch then caused ANOTHER overdraft fee of $36. FINALLY got a person on the phone who: A.) constantly interrupted me, B.) constantly talked over me, C.) offered me a refund of $60. I declined her offer of a refund, as that doesn’t even cover the two overdraft fees. I told her she lost a customer. How frustrating that you can’t email customer service, get a live chat or a person on the phone so as to avoid this problem.
Shady Company
I ordered a couple products from Purity Products and decided I was no longer interested in taking them. I called to cancel and the girl went round and round about what a good deal it is and even lowers the price. I keep telling her I want to cancel. She offers to change my super saver to another product. We chat about this for a few minutes but in the end I say “please cancel, if I want something else I will call back.”
I assume the account is canceled and lo and behold a few months later, here is a charge for auto ship. I call and am told I am wrong I did not cancel my products. I repeatedly asked to be canceled and was not. A very shady company if you ask me. Beware of their “FREE” products!
If You Want to Cancel Set Aside 30 Minutes on the Phone
You can’t cancel your auto shipment online or by email. By phone you have to be the person that started the account to cancel it. My wife ordered it for me and over the phone I started the auto ship but now it is all about making canceling it as hard as possible. Felt no changes when taking this product. After hearing all the radio 30 minute ads I now realize this is about them making as much money they can. Not about your health just about your pocketbook. Run from these people. They are the 21st century traveling medicine show.
Cannot Cancel Automatic Shipments
I am trying to cancel an automatic shipment and it is nearly impossible. It cannot be done online. It cannot be done by telephone unless the person on the account calls. If that person is no longer able to communicate by telephone, there appears to be no way to stop these deliveries short of closing the bank account they are being charged to.
Did Not Work
My husband thought would take this product – the green tea one and he was perfectly healthy. He thought it would help as a boost for his immune system. Turn out, when he started taking them he got hip and leg pains so brutal he couldn’t barely take it. He took them for 3 weeks, when he stopped taking it the pain instantly disappeared. What is that? If you look on the company address they are from PLAINVIEW on TERMINAL drive… Scary.
Rip-Off... Product Is Terrible and They Auto Ship Even When You Stop it... They Lie, They Don't Answer the Phone Claiming It Is a
They are only misleading the consumer, they lie. I would surely question the BBB rating…
Unauthorized charge of $184.65
Heard infomercial, received product to try. Did not realize that the products (Maca Super Formula and Vital Brilliance Formula) can cause sudden diarrhea. Very embarrassing at the workplace. Allowed company to auto-ship product, thought the charge would be about $65.00. Surprise! $184.65 charged to my credit card. Needless to say I have to devote a lot of time and effort to get the credit card company to stop payment.
