Contracted Riteway to deliver a car. Car was to be delivered to a shopping center parking lot. The major tenant has vacated the lot so there is plenty of room. After waiting a half hour I called and they had the driver call me. VERY POOR ENGLISH, HARD TO UNDERSTAND. The driver was about 2 blocks away parked in the median of a 4 lane road. The car was sitting behind the truck. The police had stopped and told them to get this transaction done and move along. The car was pulled into a nearby lot, but the truck was still in the median. I examined the car, IT WAS VERY DIRTY. I checked the body panels for damage and found none. They gave me a receipt which showed the damaged areas of the car. The convertible top was very dirty and THERE WAS NO DAMAGE MARKED ON THE RECEIPT. When I got it home (a few blocks away) I examined the convertible top more closely, there was a long scuff in the front and 2 holes center abd rear. I took pictures and sent them to the seller, he forwarded them to Riteway. The seller assured me that the top was NOT DAMAGED when it was picked up. Michael asked me to get estimates, I did that and sent 2 estimates to him as soon as I received them. Michael O’Sullivan at Riteway told me over and over that “he and his company would make it right”. After about 5 weeks he told me he was waiting to hear back from the insurance company. After 6 weeks I finally got the name of the insurance company and called, they NEVER RECEIVED A CALL from Michael nor anyone else at Riteway. It took 2 calls and I had a claim number. Very deceptive practice, I think that Michael strung me along hoping I would just give up. I used Riteway on reccommendation from the seller. NOT A GOOD CHOICE!!!
