I recently fostered to adopt a dog from Ruff House Rescue in Freeport. We loved the dog and were enthusiastic about making her part of the family. As a precaution, we took her to the vet. As it turns out, she was infected with 2 types of worms. One of which is contagious to people. I have to small children and was not notified by these people. When I asked for the medical expenses to be deducted from adoption fee, I was told to bring the dog back and that I shouldn’t have taken her to the vet. They then spun it as we are unfit to adopt. They claim to be about animals but refused to take responsibility for them. Shameful!
