I started taking my son to Safari of Smiles a couple of years ago, however, after my divorce, I had some financial issues due to which I had to switch to a different dental clinic. Safari of Smiles was way too expensive for me to afford at that time. Recently, I called the clinic in order to check if they have changed their insurance and pricing policies or not. I wanted to get my son’s teeth examined and cleaned and a simple dental exam for my toddler daughter who recently slipped and damaged her tooth.
Upon calling, the receptionist told me that the procedure would cost me only $68 for both of the kids and I don’t have to worry about the finances. It was a relief for me because I stopped going to this clinic mainly because of their outrageous pricing. I booked an appointment for both of the kids the same day. This treatment was to be considered as a preventive one in my insurance. We reached the clinic where the doctor did the procedures and as I was leaving the clinic I was handed an invoice of $530.00! It was definitely nowhere near $68.00 and I wasn’t happy about it! I told the receptionist that I talked to her on the phone and she repeatedly told me that I would only be charged $68.00. My main factor for choosing the dental clinic was the pricing and if they had cleared the pricing stuff early on, then I would not have to face that situation. I decided to pay only the sum I was told on the phone and after that, I left the premises. If I had known about their real pricing early on, I would have simply gone to a different clinic.
Now here comes the worst part, yesterday I observed that my son’s tooth was a little loose and decided to get an appointment and get him examined. I called the clinic several times and left 2 voicemails however, I got no response whatsoever. The next day I called them again in the morning and thankfully the receptionist picked up the call this time. I told her that I would like to book an appointment for my son and she replied that I cannot book any more appointments at the clinic as I am permanently banned now. WHAT THE HELL! I asked her why was I banned and she told me that it is because I did not pay them the full money last time. I did not receive a SINGLE CALL from the clinic demanding their money and at that time the receptionist told me that she would “manage the issue”.
I would advise everyone to stay away from the Safari of Smiles. I don’t think anyone can benefit from their rude and compulsive behaviour. They did not clarify the whole situation to me and banned me, which was very disrespectful. Please do a lot of research before choosing a clinic. Thank you!
