Called on Fr. Feb 27 to report problems with washing mashine. Got my appoinment for Feb. 2. My time was between 8-1pm . Same morning I contacted the company to make sure they remembered about my family( family of 5, whom 3 children under age 6) as well as asked them to knock at my door when they arrive because my Verison phone may not call( connection issues). Person arrived but they needed to order a part. My next appotment was supposed to be Feb. 9. Same as my first time I contacted Service America to confirm my appointment and asked them to knock at my door again. Service never showed up that day. I called : [protected] ; [protected]. I spoke with ext. 4292 Bernisha and manager Marline ext. 4326. I wanted to get my service same afternoon because it was their fault. They refused, told me they can”t reach their service person and there was a note in their computer that he called me( after I called and asked not to ), which all just lies 🙁 My next appointment Mar. 13 . What to do?

Complaint description – written 8/25/2009 My air conditioner failed on a thursday evening. They sent a technician who failed to test it, but only added freon. On sat I was without ac. I called for service but couldn’t get an apt. Until tues. On tuesday, it was discovered that the coil was leaking. The technician told me to call the presidents office to have the coil removed on weds, and have a courier pick up the coil and take it to the shop on weds, so it could be repaired and returned before the weekend. I contacted service america and arranged for the coil pickup and courier service for weds. On weds, only 1 tech came out, not two that were needed. I assisted tech in removing coil. When he called the courier, the courier said no way he was coming. I called the presidents office since I had been without ac from sat to weds, in terrible heat, and was told they would not pick it up until thurs, which probably meant I would be without air condition until monday. I pleaded with them to hire another courier to pick up the coil, but they refused to do so. I called a competitor weds evening, sansone, who installed a new air conditioner on thursday. Service america failed to provide service in a reasonable time period. If they don’t have enough trucks, or equipment they should contract out for additional manpower, to move equipment. I think being without a/c for a period of 8 days is unreasonable, the temperature in the house was over 90 degrees harmful, to pets children, and exposes the house to possible mol Complaint summary Failure of service america to provide purchased contract service on my air conditioner. Resolution sought Service america was required to repair or replace the air conditioning unit under the contract. Since it took unreasonably long to replace the coil because of their failure to have sufficient courier service to pick up the coil, they should have replaced the outside unit when they couldn’t repair the unit in a timely fashion. Their replacement dollar amount for a unit is a maximum of $3000. customer for 8 years #3405525 and this house was under contract for several years with Service America. I have had a electrical issue since Sept and trying to get it fix through out the month of OCT with 2 no show no call appointment on 10/8 and today 10/25. with the company trying to schedule appointments with out speaking to the customer and then multiple calls back to the company to try to reschedule and escalating call to supervisor. Supervisors unavailable and then not receiving call back in timely manners. My contract is currently up for renewal and I am seriously considering other service companies.

Dishwasher was leaking. Had a serviceman come out to inspect. Said that he had to order part and schedule an install date(2 weeks later). Install date comes around, window of 8am-1pm. Called early in the day to find out status and better arrival time. Was told “he will be there between 8am and 1pm”. At 12:30 Service America calls saying technician is running late. Had to reschedule for 9 days later. Day before new date get a call from Service America to confirm appoinment. New date arrives and get a call from Service America stating that tech is not in today and that part is locked in his van. Have to reschedule for an additional 2 days in the middle of the day on a Saturday all because they have poor management/organizational skills.

Had a contract with them that I was not going to renew, they called a month later to offer me a deal so I renewed for another year. Ended up purchasing new air conditioner from them that they tried to tell me that they would pay for the handler because it was covered and I would pay for the condenser. I shopped around and found out that they were actually charging me more than if I had another company do the whole thing! Then they came out 4 times with the wrong breaker for the new unit. When I got so frustrated calling there because only 1 man answers the phone, I decided to cancel the contract. They told me that I would get credit for 90% and any days that I had the contract. When I was only credited 1/4 of what I was supposed to, I called AGAIN! They charged me for a service call on one of the times that they brought the wrong breaker. They said they would credit it, then they said that I had the contract for a month longer than I actually paid! I paid on Aug. 9, but they made the contract start as if I would have renewed in July. So I am paying for days that I didn”t actually have use of the contract! They are the absolute worst!!! Please DO NOT USE SERVICE AMERICA!

had service america plan 2 years in a row, paid over $800 each year and was under the impression had a full service plan. In the second year when I renewed I called for service for my A/c and was to d that replacement was not covered ( which I initially thought since the plan was so expensive. I just had renewed and i asked to be upgraded to the replacement plan for $ 100 more which was denied although it was within 30 days of renewing. Then my dryer broke and after numerous cancelled appt calls from service america and waiting for a replacement part for months that was on back order service america failed to fix my dryer. I gave up on checking with service America after 4 months of air drying my cloths and bought a new dryer. I had another A/ c problem and they told me the could fix the problem. They provided me with a loyal customer service discount for a Rheem 1.5 ton A//c with installation permit and all applicable discounts including for $3300. I ended up getting 3 comparison quotes from which Service America on the Average was 20% higher. That is after I already had given them over $800 as it seems as a generous gift for absolutely nothing more then a paper with more exclusions. So people save your money and put Service America out of Business!, Money is to Hard earned to give it to those crooks.

I had a contract for one year with service America. Each time they came out they could never fix my washer the first time always took two trips or more. In march they ordered new parts for my washer which finally came in a week later. Service man moved my washer to garage and installed new part. He finished up put the washer back in my laundry room and told me it was all fixed and working. I asked him if he was sure everything was OK and he said yes. He stated he started the washer and everything was fine. I went back to work in home office and approx. 1/2 hr later I come out to find water running down the hallway and found water in my dining room with my brand new rug under water. I contacted them and was advised to call my homeowners insurance which I told them I was not going to do since this was not my problem but theirs. I ended up calling a drying company to dry out my stuff. Their insurance company finally paid after lots of phone calls. Last night my husband tried running and shower in our house and found we had no water pressure. He goes into the garage and find that a valve that Service America had installed in January had blown off. Now I have more water to deal with. Called Service America last night and told them what happened and they said they would send a service man out. Then I received a call back and said they would not come out until this morning. Called Service American again this morning and we went over the fact that I had not renewed my contract because I was on the fence about their service but felt that they should take care of the valve they installed in Jan and they told me that they would not cover that since it was over 30 days…Now after what they did to my house in March would you not think they would take care of this as a good will and to try to regain my business…I was informed for $90.00 for 1/2 hr they would be happy to take care of the problem. For that cost I can contact my own plumber that is dependable..

I have been a customer of Service America. Most of their service techs do not know what they are doing! They blame it on your home appliances and find excuses while they destroy what they came to your home to fix to begin with. I recently had 6 techs sent to my home to fix a faucet that they broke. Each tech blamed it on the previous one and I had to pay out of my pocket for the parts! My Service America contract price is almost $500.00. Service America is a big scam and will claim that they only hire experienced service people. This is not the truth! This company believes they have a monopoly on the market in Florida. I received a letter in the mail stating that they are now forcing their customers to pay a service fee of $45.00 every time they have to service your home! This was never stated in their contract and they are scamming their customer into paying this incredulous service call fee. They actually count the number of times they come to your home, this also was not stated in their contract. I spoke with two managers who sounded like a robot, and they kept repeating that Service America can enforce any service fee at their discretion! They also disclosed that Service America takes a loss every time they come to your home! Charging their customers almost $500.00 for a contract, and they are complaining as well as scamming! This is pure American Greed! Now my family, neighbors, and friends are waiting for their contract to expire so they can drop Service America as soon as possible. Beware of Service America and their greed and shocking practices. Don’t forget, they count the number of visits to your home!

It places you on hold for about 5 mins and after that it goes dead I had called every single phone number from their website and all of them give me the same results. I have been with Service America for 12 yrs and they use to be a good company back in the day. Now they are the terrible! They never show up during the work window they give you. Sometimes never call or show after waiting all day! Techs are not good at their jobs, always different ones everytime. Called to talk to a supervisor and one was suppose to call me back and never did. I will NOT be renewing after this year!

I have had Service America for over 20 years they “were” great truly, for many years, even though I have not had MAJOR issues over this period of time, always on time, rather professional and did their work quicker and accurately. Few years back I had an older stacked washer and dryer go out, they were courteous and very good, I had replacement coverage and basically the entire unit was covered. Unfortunately since then, its about 8 years now, I”ve stayed with them out of habit, I”ve had to make repeated calls for the same problem, or “it”s not covered” — it was before…technicians do not seem to be as professional and knowledgeable. I”ve had a ceiling fan problem and they can”t seem to fix it. I”m even more frustrated now cuz they”ve changed their contracts and now there is a deductible on top of the service plan. Is it even worth it…? and – their replacement coverage has changed. Soooo, what exactly am I paying for and what am I getting, between averaged out monthly cost $50 and service call now $50 — unless its a bigger problem- it not worth, and even then upi better hope its something that they cover, , , , , frustrated/annoyed/will cancel
