I purchased the Simmons Frances Plush queen size mattress in December 2013. When the sidewall failed in April, causing it to splay out to one side at a 30 degree angle and lose more than an inch of height as a result I filed a claim for the warranty. Due to the stains from night sweating, a normal occurence for many individuals, they voided the warranty. All I wanted was a replacement as a result of shoddy design/manufacturing, or a refund (doesn’t matter to me which it is.) Simmons continued to refuse to honor the warranty to either outcome, and even refused to resolve the BBB complaint I filed. Horrid customer service, and I will never buy from them again, and given that many friends and family come to me for advice, I will retell this story again and again.

They only had the newest model out called the ‘Beautyrest Recharge Catskill’… After one month this thing was worn out. I only weight 170 lbs and wife 120 lbs. I knew trying to return this thing was a waste of my time, stess levels and energy. 3 years ago I was in a near fatal accident that left me with serious pain and hip and pelvis problems. I needed a new mattress and I looked in a lot of mattress stores. I was looking for a mattress similar to one I had slept on in a hotel once. We ended up in sleep country in lethbridge alberta and the sales clerk… Who was very pushy… Highly recommended the mattress which I have listed in the product area of this complaint. This mattress started sagging and springs collapsed after only a year. It was useless to try to get a warranty replacement or refund from the store we bought it from, as once you walk out the door with the mattress… They want nothing more to do with you. I am also not holding my breath that you will care enough to help us out. What I do want to say though is that we financed this mattress… We are still paying on it… And it’s a big heavy piece of [censor]! I am back to getting no restful sleep, my husband is waking up every morning with back and shoulder pain, and when we try to turn the mattress… It mushrooms over on the side that is not against the wall and walks away from the wall by 4-5 inches every night. I will never buy or recommend one of your mattresses again. And while I am only one insignificant person whom I am sure you don’t give a [censor] about… I am sure that for the remainder of my years I can talk a few hundred people out of buying your products. After a series of TempurPedic mattresses, all turning into canoes within a year, we decided to buy a “regular” bed. We went to Sears and purchased their best Beautyrest Black pillowtop mattress. We were attracted by the comfort warranty. The mattress was comfortable, but after 6 months my husband was once again in a canoe. We jumped through the many hoops for the warranty and it was approved – not only is the dip 1.5″ you can see it with your naked eye – the entire side of the bed is indented. Now afraid, wanting to get whatever will not canoe I started researching – if only I had done this in February! I learned that ALL mattresses canoe – it is the nature of the foam. I also learned that all mattresses are filled with pounds of cancer causing fire ###ant chemicals. I called very major manufacturer to ask them if they would give me a chemical free mattress with a doctor”s prescription as the law allows, NONE of them will do this. I looked at Sears for an air mattress but they don”t sell that. It seems senseless to keep buying the same uncomfortable mattresses that are also a risk to our health. We have asked for a Sears store credit but they refuse. Why would a store insist that we be unhappy, sick and sleepless? Why? My husband has been having chest pain and shortness of breath on the mattress – underwent a full cardiac workup but his heart is fine. My daughter had a thyroid tumor requiring removal of half of her thyroid – and now we know both may be related to our mattress and Sears refuses to help us. Actually – one agent said no problem, he would give me our money back when they picked up the mattress. But when I called for a pick-up the woman not only said no that was not possible, she accused me of not really talking to anyone there. It has been a complete fiasco from a store we have shopped at our entire life – buyer beware! Instead buy a chemical free latex mattress – they do not canoe, do not have to be full of chemicals. Aug. 2005 I purchased a Simmons Beautyrest World Class Mattress for $1700.00 from a Mattress Giant . I purchased a new arrival floor model for a substancial price reduction. When purchased I inquired on the 10 yr. warranty and was advised the warranty was valid. The first 3 years the mattress was fine. After that we noticed how it was sagging where we slept. As time went on the sagging was more visable to the eye and the middle of the mattress was protruding making for a bad night of rest. I contacted Mattress Giant and they showed no interest in helping. When I filed a warranty claim I was notified that the mattress did not ever have a warranty because it was a floor model and the invoice was marked “sold as is”? And indeed in small print the invoice says just that. Who does business like that? So, we are currently sleeping on a very expensive defective mattress. I have learned a lesson. I will never purchase from anyone in the future without doing more research first. And will most certainly read the fine print! I will never buy from Mattress Giant they are not a reliable company and I hope this posting will help buyers aware of there unfair business practice. They certainly do not stand behind there product. I contact Simmons and the door is still open on that.

Do not purchase a Blackline Helena from Simmons or dealer. I bought my mattress from an online dealer in NC and received my Blackline Helena mattress in late June 2007. By November I had sagging which was having me only be able to sleep on on side of mattress because I would roll down. OUt of those months I had not slept on it for 2months due to a TDY with my agency. I contacted the online store in November and again in December with no return contact. I did not sleep on my bed again for almost 4 months and in May 2008 I contacted Simmons to see if they could help with a warrant replacement. THe Tek Check representative came out and found I already had a 1/2 to 3/4 permanent depression. WHen submitted to Simmons they turned back in June and sent me a denial of warrant saying it was normal. I have had back problems and can feel the springs. STay away as I have heard of other problems with the blackline and the Helena but to no avail here. I spent a lot on the mattress to be having such a bad nights sleep.

Hello my name is Aaron Munoz I purchased a SIMMONS BEAUTYREST mattress from The Room Source furniture store in 2004. The mattress started to fall apart within 6-8 months of use on the mattress so we contacted the ROOM SOURCE about the mattress and they sent someone out right away to inspect the mattress and found it to be defective and replaced the mattress. I dont remember how long the second mattress took to prove it was also defective but I know that it was only a short period of time. Once again we contacted the ROOM SOURCE about the defective mattress and they said they would give us an option to upgrade the mattress if we paid the difference. We took that option and forked over another 200.00 or so dollars hoping to avoid the same problem. Once again the new upgraded mattress proved to be defective in a short period of time. Keep in mind that these mattresses all have 10 year warranties and were not even lasting 2 years. So we contacted ROOM SOURCE for the third time only to find out that they had so many problems with the mattresses that they were not carrying them anymore and that we had to deal with simmons mattress company. I contacted simmons right away and they said that they would send someone to determine if the mattress was defective. I was at work when the gentleman that inspected the bed came to my home, but he assured my girlfriend that our mattress met the qualifications of a defective mattress and that the dip on my side of the mattress was 1 3/4 inches and only had to be 1 1/4 inches to qualify. About 10 days later after hearing nothing back I contacted simmons about our claim and they told us that our claim was denied and it said why in the letter that we would receive. I received the letter and found that they had denied us because there was a stain on the bed and that there was a warranty clause that says the mattress has to be free of stains for the warranty to be effective. One of the previous defective mattresses had a stain on it and was not even mentioned when The Room Source was handling the warranty claims. So I called Simmons back and I told her that we did not receive any paperwork when we purchased the mattress stating this and she told us that “we should have checked”. After being abandoned by the ROOM SOURCE and treated very rudely and denied by SIMMONS I did not know what else to do so I gave up. Then come to find I am not the only one that has been denied my warranty by Simmons, there are numerous reports all over the internet of Simmons not replacing defective mattresses that are still under warranty. I still own the mattress and cannot afford to buy another one, me and my girlfriend both constantly have back pain and aches after sleeping on the mattress. I have had so many back problems that I have stopped sleeping on this mattress and have been forced to sleep on the couch. I hope that you can help me out in any way possible in getting simmons to hold up to their warranty. I will never again by a simmons no matter what the outcome and I urge everyone with a denied warranty claim to contact their local newspapers and tv news stations.

I bought a queen beautyrest on 9/28/07 for almost $1700 including a new simmons box spring and waterproof protector. The mattress started sagging around summer 2010. I contacted simmons on 1/17 and they scheduled an inspector to could out to look at the mattress. The inspector used a weighted string placed across the mattress with a ruler to measure the depression in the mattress. However, the inspector”s tactics were very underhanded. He pressed down on the mattress but before he took the photos he talked to me about the acceptable numbers that simmons needs to see before they will consider the mattress defective. Then when he was done talking he took his pictures. Looking back on it now I cannot believe I did not catch this trick at the time. By the time he took the photos the depression number was at 1 3/8 inches, this is what he wrote in his report. Coincidentally simmons requires a minimum of 1.5 inches. So my mattress was off by 1/8 of an inch. If he had taken the picture without talking to me it would have easily ready 2.5 inches. After this I received a letter in the mail saying the claim was denied and the level of depression that we had was considered normal wear and tear BULL$*&$. I sent 4 emails to [protected]@simmons.com requesting the contact information for a supervisor or manager with the warranty department, I never received a response. Today I called them and the customer service woman that I talked would not give me any contact information for a supervisor, she said I could leave a message and she would make sure it gets to the supervisor… yea right, I”m sure, just like my emails were replied to. Then she said that my warranty claim had already been denied and I could open a new claim again in 90 days but “I would just be wasting my time because that one would be denied too” … those were her exact words. What a despicable company with despicable customer service reps. I am going to invest in a memory foam mattress as soon as I can afford one. I am also going to cut the pillow top off the simmons mattress and take video of what I am sure will be defective coil springs (which is the case with the majority of beautyrest complaints) and I will then post this video online. I have already submitted 2 BBB complaints and I am going to spend as much time as I can getting the word about about this garbage company and their products. I already told my story to 2 women at a sears department this past weekend and steered them away from buying a simmons mattress (they bought a stearns and foster instead). At least I know that by word of mouth I can get some level of satisfaction by informing others about this company, their horrible products and awful customer service. Simmons is now merging with sealy after filing for bankruptcy protection so beware of sealy mattresses having this same problem also in the future.

I bought a Simmons Mattress from Mr mattress in Greenville SC on June 2008. Paid app. $ 1600.00. It has started sinking by 2 1/2 inches. I contacted the store. They came out & agreed the mattress was bad. They stated it had a 4″ diameter stain barely noticeable & for that reason they would not make the mattress good. That stain has nothing to do with the mattress sinking. The stain is app 2′-0″ from the sink holes in my mattress. I would like for the manufacture & mr mattress give me some type of allowance or replace the mattress.It is clear the mattress is defected.

I bought the floor sample bed set, regularly $1699.00, on sale for $1018.25. You must agree this is a fairly high price for a bed set… at least high enough to expect good quality for … let”s say… 1 year. Within the first week of sleeping on the bed I was on the phone with The Better Sleep Store. I told them the bed sagged in the middle so much that when I made the bed and put the bedspread on you could see the droop. Surely the mattress should bounce back up and look “sharp” after fluffing and pulling the sheets and bedspread tight… at least for … let”s say… 1 week. No, she says, it is supposed to mold to your body”s shape, and in NC beds are “no return”. That may be, but my bed looks like it is 25 years old after I have fluffed and pulled everything tight… and it is 1 week old. I called several more times, complaining, requesting something be done. They listened politely but did nothing. Now I have lived with the damn thing for a year. It has not been something I got used to, adjusted to with time, etc.. I have been disappointed and uncomfortable EVERY NIGHT since buying it in March 08. I went to a nice store and bought a very nice bed so that I could own a very nice bed. I have been sorely disappointed since the 3rd day of owning it. I wonder what this company can say or do to resolve this $1086.98 problem? For $1000.00, I should be enjoying this thing for at least a year, don”t you think? I enjoyed it one night. The next morning it was squished and old looking. I feel it”s a moral obligation to warn people or possible future customers about this mattress company, by sharing with the public my recent nightmare experience I had with this company. But before I go on, it”s only fair to point out that I am partly to blame. I should have done my homework first by checking Leeds out on the Better Business Bureau”s website. Had I have done that first, I would have learned about the several complaints they currently have registered by many unhappy customers. If I had been aware of this, I would have never done business with Leeds from the start. But to make a long story short, my mattress that I purchased with Leeds back in August of 08, was found to defective. And after going through months of horrible customer service with Leeds ( constant mis-information given, no call backs, rudeness, ignoring me in the store etc), they actually had the nerve to charge me a 50.00 dollar delivery fee for replacing the defective mattress they sold me in the first place-as if it was my fault. However, I checked with their major competitor, and they stated that they do not charge for delivering on a defective mattress case. So I”m wondering why would Leeds penalize their customers for something clearly the customers had no control of and clearly it”s not the customers fault for receiving a defective mattress. But apparently Leeds doesn”t care, because they charged me 50.00 dollars for replacing my defective mattress they sold me. I have tried to talk to Neil the owner, but all i get is the supervisors which informs me that Leeds “sub hires” their drivers, so they have to eat the cost of the delivery, and Leeds just passes that charge onto the customer. I also had a problem with the different Leeds stores when trying to pick out and upgrade my replacement mattress. One Leeds store wanted to charge me 1399.00 for the upgrade, yet when I went to another Leeds store, they told me that charging me 1399.00 was wrong and I only had to pay 590.00 (including the delivery fee). So their various stores aren”t even on the same page. So after months of dealing with the different Leeds stores and customer service (if you dare to call it that), I find them to be very unorganized and unprofessional and would”nt reccomend doing business with this establishment.

I had purchased a mattress set from Value City Furniture for $1700.00 with a stain guard protection. In less than one year, the mattress developed a sinkhole in the center (my husband and I are average weight, 150 and 190 pounds); I returned the mattress and got a replacement of the exact same kind of mattress. In less than a year, this mattress did the same thing. I did not report it as quickly because it was hard to get someone to return the mattress; when I tried to get it replaced Value City Furniture refused to replace it because the mattress had a “stain” on it, which had absolutely nothing to do with the performance of the mattress. They voided the warranty even though I paid extra for the stain guard. I turned them in to the Better Business Bureau but it did not help. I will show anyone the pictures of the mattress if they want to see them; I do not want anyone to get duped like I did.

I just purchased (1/17/09) a Simmons Beautyrest mattress. From day one I experienced terrible sagging, hard hump in middle and on sides, even though using proper frame according to Simmons customer service and warranty. Sagging only happens when you lie on it (at least so far). Warranty only if sagging while not lying in it. I agree that Simmons has committed fraud and false advertising and that their product should be taken off the market. We spend so much money and end up with a bad mattress and back and neck pain/problems. They shouldn”t get by with this. I want to start a class-action law suit and warn other consumers as well. I made the mistake of going to one of there outlets, and first of all the sales person told me that it was new product that was considered overruns come to find out what they really sale is warranty returns and factory defects, bottom line junk! I purchased 2 leather recliners 14 months ago and the foot rest will not go down on the one recliner. When it was flipped over we noticed there is a rod that is broke off from a plastic piece. The 2nd recliner is hard to put foot rest down and I am afraid it will break. These recliners have barely been used and I am not able to contact Simmons to have chairs repaired or replaced. I purchased a king size Simmons Beautyrest mattress set in Dec of 2006. Within about 5 months my husband and I both noticed that the mattress was starting to sag. We both had indents where we lay on the mattress. It took me a couple of months, but finally I got in touch with the retail store, Elder Beerman, and they sent a person out to my house to check the mattress. By the way, both people who sleep in the bed weight less than 200 lbs. each. Well, the mattress was recorded as having two indents over 2 inches deep on both sides of the bed. Unfortunatley for me, there was a small 4″ x 4″ stain– I thought it was a coffe spil. Since there was a stain, the warranty was said to be void. My advice to anyone out there, looking to buy a mattress. ** DO NOT PURCHACE A SIMMON BEAUTYREST. *** The advertisements are clever—with the bowling ball gimmic, but the mattress is a terrible quality.

I purchased a king-sized Simmons Beautyrest mattress set from Easy Life Furniture in 2004. I paid about $1800 for the set and recommended bed frame. This is a lot of money for me, but I was pregnant with my second child and really wanted to have a comfortable bed so that I could get plenty of rest, so I went ahead and invested in it. It was super comfortable but I noticed that it was causing a lot of lower back pain. I had to start seeing a chiropractor and it turns out the the mattress just started breaking down very quickly. It has virtually no support anymore. Recently I moved and was living in some temporary housing for a few months. I decided to store my bed and use the queen-sized bed I had in our guest room. I didn”t really think much about it, but I no longer had back pain in my lower back. However, I did think about it 2 weeks ago, when I finally got settled into my new place, with my Simmons Beautyrest mattress back in my room and out of storage. Wow!! My back pain was back and worse than ever after a few nights back in my bed!!! I had to go see the chiropractor repeatedly and couldn”t move without severe pain. Now I continue to see my chiropractor and I am managing the pain, but it has not gone away. I feel it every morning when I awake. What a bummer!! I can not afford a new mattress and have since gotten rid of the queen bed because I downsized to a small apartment and only needed one bed. I wish I kept the other one!!! This mattress is just poor-quality and has gotten soft and mushy. I would have tried to replace it but it also has a couple of stains and I remember the mattress store salesperson stating that the warranty would be void if the mattress became stained in any way. We have called several many times over the past 2 yrs and they will not do anything about there mattress we purchased from Appels in Brookings oregon and paid alot of money . I purchased a simmons mattress 6 years ago, it cost 1400$. We loved the mattress but noticed that over time there has been a divot on my side, it has progressed to making that side unusable. I am 82 and it is hurting my back. They said that I should but a new one and they would see what they could do to compensate me. But they wouldn’t give any guarantees that I would be. I bought this mattress for the guarantee I want them to honor the warranty and get me a new mattress or a reasonable amount refunded to me as per the warranty

I purchased a Simmons Worldclass Wickliffe Plus mattress on 9/10/2005 from Marshall Field”s department store. About 9/2007, I started to experience back and hip pain. I finally tracked the source to my mattress. I contacted Joanne at Simmons who set up an inspection. The inspector said my mattress was sagging 1 1/4″ and that he would submit it to the company. I received a letter in March, 2008 stating that there is no structural failure in the mattress or box spring and that the indentation is just the mattress contouring to the shape of my body. Well that “contouring” is killing my back and hip..They say the more thicker and luxurious (expensive) the filling materials, the more susceptible they are to compaction (sagging.) That is ridiculous!!! I paid good money for a mattress that I can”t even sleep on. Simmons should honor its warranty and stand on its integrity. I am outraged and in pain!!!

I purchased my King-sized Simmons Beaty Rest mattress only 2 1/2 years ago. Nearly a year ago, I had to have someone come out from the fruniture store where I purchased the set and check the mattress for sagging. I was told it couldn’t be replaced even though it was saggin in the middle.because my husband had sweat and caused a stain on his side of the bed. I have since tried to just keep the mattress, but the sagging is now intolerable and the mattress is only 2 1/2 years old. Why does it matter if there is a slight stain on the mattress-is it guaranteed against sagging or not?

I purchased this bed from HSN. Less than 6 months later it started to develop a divot. This hole is HUGE. I contacted HSN and they said it was too late for them to refund it so I needed to contact Simmons. I did and they informed me that I would 1. have to take a series of pictures and send these in with a letter 2. pay for shipping BOTH ways for the defective mattress 3. wait several weeks for a replacement. Now what am I supposed to do without a bed for a month or longer? This is the most expensive bed I have ever bought and by far the worst. Since I cannot afford the shipping fees or to be without a bed I have to suffer now. I even turned the bed now a nice indent is developing on the other side too. What an unfair company!

I set up an appointment for today, November 5th 2009 at the Big Flats Simmons-Rockwell dealership for my 2008 Chevy Silverado 1500 LTZ. After waiting for an hour, the service rep came in and told me they couldn’t perform my service because it was a Chevrolet. What they meant to say was that they wasted my time because they didn’t want to do warranty work that they wouldn’t make money off of! I asked if they could refer me to where I could get this service done and they never returned or gave me any contacts so I left.

I tested a Simmons Beautyrest mattress in Kirschmans Furniture Store in Metarie, La. The bed was wonderful in the store. I had the bed delivered on Jan. 17, 2004. It was a Simmons Beautyrest Avenue edition bed. Also purchased was the recommended bed frame and mattress pad. The bed was fine for about two months, then I noticed that it started to sag and cause back aches. I contacted Kirschmans about the problem several times, as the recorded info for Simmons warranty advises you to do. I received no response. This went on for about 2 years. I finally got someone from Kirschmans to assign a service ticket for the bed to be inspected. No one showed up nor called. I since had to move from La., due to hurricane Katrina, to California. I contacted Simmons directly and filed the claim. Simmons sent someone out from Sleepteks to inspect the bed. The inspector used a metal measuring tool, placed it across the bed and specifically told my finance and I that there was “definitely a defect with this bed.” He further advised that we should call Simmons if we don”t hear from them within a weeks time. I received a letter from Simmons stating that they would not warranty the bed because the there was a red tint on the surface of the mattress. This tint was cause from using red sheets on the bed. Furthermore, they stated that they would not warranty the bed due to it not being in an approved frame, even though the bed was used in a frame recommended by the furniture store. We purchased a new bedroom set approximately 3 months prior to the inspection, which has more cross member support than the metal frame it was purchased with. Simmons further stated that the bed depression wasn”t sufficient enough to warrant replacing the bed. I asked to have the tech report sent to me which Simmons denied. They stated that it was property of Simmons and “none of my business.” Simmons is only looking for ways to not cover their product. When we buy merchandise we as consumers should feel confident that we are buying quality and have the assurance of the warranty, which is one of the selling points. I feel that Simmons has misrepresented itself and feel that their actions are despicable. Additional note: After telling Simmons reps about the conversation with Sleepteks rep. They said that he was not supposed to tell anyone about the findings and that they would look to have him fired. I believe that there is something to hide with that statement alone. Please respond with further complaints or any advise on this matter smb!!!
