For $35, I got a month’s membership of Sittercity services. The contract on their website didn’t say that I would be entering an agreement where Sittercity can automatically deduct $35 every month from my account. I wasn’t informed that Sittercity is going to be subscription service. They are going to keep deducting 35 bucks from my account for the next 12 months. Sittercity collects the money from their customers and doesn’t really clear why they are charging them money for. Their Terms and Conditions agreement is full of deceptive lines that put the customer on a legal disadvantage. That agreement is just a form which states that you are not going to get your money back under any circumstances. They have really done a great job of robbing people. I was charged $315 for my so-called 30 days free trial. After my experience with the company, I contacted their customer service staff for help. All I wanted was a simple refund, but they after talking to them for a while I realized that I’m not going to get my money back. They are using illegal means to run their company and steal money from people. They can easily get more than $300 from every customer who gets their free trial and they are getting a lot of money that way. In order to get the free trial, the customer has to put his credit card no. and once he or she does that, the person is going to get charged for the monthly service EVERY MONTH. You can’t hire anyone here unless you buy their trial. The customer service rep I talked to evaded most of my questions and she herself didn’t know about the company’s fishy policies. She requested me to send her the webpage which stated that policy and once I sent her the link she got even more insecure and angry. She was still siding with the company however, she did realize that the company was clearly doing a large scale scam, but being a mere employee she could do nothing but support the company. The webpage states that the premium members are going to get charged every month for their membership. My profile is a basic profile however; I was still charged a lot of money, which is a violation of their own policy. The customer rep did not agree to give me the refund and didn’t even allow me to talk to her supervisor. All the money that Sittercity took from the account (other than the initial $35) was out of my consent and will. Google defines a contract as a “mutual” agreement between two parties, however, in his case, it was definitely not mutual. This company is totally a scam and they get their money from deceiving people. I don’t know for how long they are going to keep this up, as more and more people are sharing their story on the internet. But one thing is for sure, they are not going to stay in business for very long.
