Softrock aka employer network (I just found out they are one in the same) actually had the nerve to think I was getting a job with them for 600 per week base salary plus bonuses. They called me saying that they saw my resume on line and had me go down to their office twice. The first time I went, I met a woman she had me tour the facility made a short video on why I wanted to work there, at the time I have been out of work for a year, so naturally i was excited. As I was walked around they had pictures on the walls of very happy employees, apparantly they have have BBQ Fridays and play softball. I was invited back for what I thought was a second interview two days later. Well after borrowing money for gas to get there and having my car break down after the first visit and borrowing money to get it towed and temporarily fixed, I walk into a room full of candidates, with snacks and beverages. Then a shrped dressed young man showed us a video showing how the company helps people attain their goals in their careers. after the presentation they took us separately into rooms and a young man just smiled at me and asked if I wanted the job and of course I said yes! I was told if an offer was to be made, I would receive a call by by 5pm the next day..the call never came. However, I realized that noone in that place was overwieght or over 40. I did answer another ad for a job and recieved a call from employer network. They had the nerve to ask when I graduated high school. My response was that is illegal to ask, she ignored me and asked if I was in school now, I said no and she quickly said I would receive an e mail everyday with job offers. A lightbulb went off in my head, this sounds like the job I just applied for at softrock, I scrolled down to the bottom of the email I received and low and behold…the same address I just wasted my time going to twice. Not only do I not have a job because I am over 40 and overweight, they sent me jobs that do not exist, or are on other job boards that I am already on and they are riddled with non existant jobs also. Don’t get me started on staffing agencies in Florida, they are almost as bad. .
