I attended the trucking school in Malden,Mo. It was the worst experience I have ever had as a women. Being at a major auto maker for many years. It started off as, when I arrived the side door to the school was to be left unlocked on Sunday for me to get in. Well it took 2 hours of calling to find someone to get me in. We went to take the written test for CDL and I passed the first time, and many of the teachers favorites took it and failed. When we came back from the test the mean instructor was waiting for us under a tree. When I told him I passed, it was the look of his madness at me. Sitting in the class room at school, the instructor was explaining a term and I somehow didn’t understand. I ask him a question and out of the blue came a what you got ADD . you didn’t get it. Being the only girl in the class I was laughed at and made fun of. Went out to the driving range and told me to get in the truck and back it up. Never drove a stick before and never been in a semi. I couldn’t back up straight, and he warned me about running it off the concrete. I cried and he yelled at me. One guy became my partner and called me down. Nervous and crying. Next day I got in and had a new instructor cause the mean one gave up. I was to much work. Same type of guy, no patience. Having to go to the bathroom now while out in the field,my instructor [1] we got into it. I needed to be taken back to school and he was hot. It was almost physical. Came back to school where the owners are now hostile. The guy came into the teeching room where I was and gave me trouble and said hey we make so much money you can leave and go home. Cause we don’t care about your little 7000 we make tons. Everyone was laughing at me. They hate women there. Horrible experience. They kept the money go figure.
