I had an extremely small chip that needed repaired…smaller than a dime. They call me, I needed the service, so I said, sure….come on out. My bad…..I signed the paper that was shoved in my face before looking at the repair. As soon as I start walking to my car, while I am still 10 feet away I can still see the chip and small cracks. I feel it with my finger. I can still feel the big pit with my finger. It is not smooth like it should be. I call and say, “Hey…just thought you should know, the people you sent out did a crappy job.” Her immediate response was, “I will call your insurance company and tell them that the chip was too large for a repair and that you need a windshield replacement.”. I said, “No, you won’t. I didn’t need a windshield replacement until your tech botched the job. I just want someone to come out so that you can see the kind of work your techs do.”. She immediately goes into this “calm down you hysterical woman” tone of voice and repeating a well rehearsed spiel. I was speaking quite calmly and rationally…it was really very bizarre and almost comical. I told the girl, if she didn’t want to send someone out to inspect the quality of work that was done in their name, fine…goodbye. About an hour later, much to my surprise, a girl claiming to be someone different from the first girl tried to do the same thing…but it was obvious to me it was the same person. It was quite clear….they don’t want your repair to “take”, they want to replace your windshield. Go with someone your insurance company recommends.
