I interviewed for an Outside Sales Position in Orange County and if you think you want to work for these folks, don’t ask about their contract for compensation. They try to entice you to invest your time and vehicle expenses to run leads for them. They will tell you you can make 7 to 10% commissions … OK … but you will have to sell at twice the retail price of any other competitor. However, to really make a sale without ripping off a few lame consumers who should know better ( and most do ) … you will have to lower your pricing to be competitive and will end up making ( as HR reluctantly admitted ) a lower commission of as little as 1% ( that’s $100 for a $10,000 sale not including taxes, permits, etc. ). My point is that this is a disingenuous offering that leads to a burn and turn sales force. Any home improvent sales based on a net profit of the sale is desined to rip off the salesman and allows this company to make up whatever they feel like paying you. When you leave the company, you lose commissions from pending sales in the pipe. Don’t work under this kind of contract. You can do better elsewhere and customers can save thousands using ot5her contractors who also use non-english speaking, minimum paid labor to get the same results. This company is arrogant.
