First, I attempted to contact the Better Business Bureau about the Issaquah location, but did not see them listed.

Review:

I entered into Taco Time, prepared to place an order and leave and thought it would be a smooth transaction. The transaction was anything but easy. The worker, Corey, upon my entering without a mask exclaimed, ”you  need to wear a mask.” This is the equivalent of telling someone who is in a wheelchair, ”you need to get up and walk to the counter.” Case in point – she immediately saw that I wasn’t wearing a mask over all else. She did not care I was there to make a purchase, which ultimately pays her wages. She was obsessed with the absence of a mask on my face  continued to ’remind’ *cough* patronize me until I ultimately left and purchased nothing. The only thing I needed to do at this point was leave!

I am not wearing a mask for a number of reasons, some of which are medical. For that reason, I should be allowed to enter into the facility and make a purchase according to ADA. Making demands upon   a person to wear a mask and shouting phrases such as ”you need”, may frighten someone who has a cognitive impairment, or who experiences post-traumatic stress for example. People who have a newly acquired condition that qualifies for ADA accommodations may be a bit shy about their new condition. Regardless of the scenario, each person should be treated with dignity and respect. Telling a person he ’needs’ to do anything showcases dominance from the employee to the customer and should not be tolerated.

The business card is sketchy, and there is no e-mail address listed for the General Manager, Kelly O’Brien. The phone number listed rings to the store itself.

The most contact information I could find is the following:

Kahala Brands

9311 E. Via de Ventura

Scottsdale, AZ 85258

Phone: (480) 362-4800

Toll Free: (866) 4-KAHALA | (866) 452-4252

Verdict: Don’t bother, because you will have all that negative ju ju in your food. No, thanks!
